Chapter 377: Chapter 131: Blood Hand! I’ve Been Waiting for You for a Long Time

His eyes bulged wide, his pupils instantly losing focus. His hands fell limply to his sides.

The dual blades slipped from his palms, landing on the ground with a CLANG, CLANG.

The demon wings on the monster’s back beat continuously as it slowly descended from the sky.

It glanced down at Blue Crow, now a mangled pulp of flesh in its hand. There was not a single ripple in its eyes, which burned with a ghastly green Soul Fire, as if it had just crushed a worthless bug.

Then, it reached out with its other claw and swiped.

SHIICK!

Blue Crow’s head flew into the air, tracing an arc before it landed and rolled into a pile of jagged rocks by the path.

The eyes on his head were wide open, as if he couldn’t rest in peace.

The entire process, from Blue Crow’s sudden counterattack to his beheading, may sound long when described, but it all happened in the span of a dozen breaths.

A Tier Four Peak Dual Blade Ranger, leader of the Blue Crow Battle Group, had just been butchered alive.

On the mountain path, the elite soldiers who had charged forward with Blue Crow froze as they watched. Their weapons slipped from their hands, falling to the ground with a great CLATTER.

They looked from the terrifying, Demon God-like figure to their leader’s head on the ground, and in that instant, their last shred of courage was utterly crushed.

"Mon—monster..."

"Run! Run now!!!"

No one knew who screamed it first.

Immediately after, the morale of the surviving members of the Blue Crow Battle Group completely shattered.

Some charged madly toward the city walls in a last, desperate struggle. Others turned and fled, wishing their parents had given them more legs as they desperately scrambled deeper into the gorge.

More still, like chickens with their heads cut off, cried and screamed as they scrambled into the forests on either side, praying only to get farther—much farther—away from the terrifying demon.

"Loose!"

On the city wall, Marcus’s cold voice rang out.

SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH!

A rain of arrows poured down, turning the soldiers attempting to reach the walls into human pincushions.

But the routed soldiers who fled into the forests met an even more terrifying fate.

Skeletons had long been lying in wait within the forest. They now emerged from the undergrowth, ghastly green Soul Fire flickering in their eye sockets. Wielding all manner of blades and polearms, they mercilessly reaped the lives of the routed soldiers.

An elusive specter was among them as well, turning into thin wisps of smoke to possess the soldiers, forcing them to turn on and kill one another.

In an instant, Gray Claw Gorge had become a living Hell.

All manner of screams, wails, and the crunch of breaking bones echoed without end, weaving together into a deathly symphony.

Blood flowed down the mountain path, gathering into a crimson stream that stained the gray rocks a deep, dark red.

The terrifying monster that had slain Blue Crow had now returned to the ground. Its membranous wings slowly folded as its cold eyes swept across the battlefield.

It did not pursue the fleeing soldiers. Instead, it stood there silently, like a Demon God guarding the gates of Hell, exuding a suffocating aura of power.

Any living thing that tried to approach it, human and warhorse alike, trembled under its terrifying presence, frozen in place.

On the city wall, Marcus watched the terrifying figure below and couldn’t help but swallow, his eyes filled with both awe and relief.

"Is this... His Lordship’s hidden ace?" he muttered, an unconscious tremor in his voice. "Tier Five... No, its combat power is far more terrifying than an ordinary Tier Five..."

Meanwhile, Lynch, who was remotely controlling Xuan Yi with his consciousness, was also secretly shocked. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

’Holy shit, Xuan Yi is this strong?’

He had practiced controlling Xuan Yi remotely before, but this was the first time he had actually used him in a real battle.

Through Xuan Yi’s senses, he clearly felt the terrifying power contained within this body, a vessel born purely for slaughter.

Blue Crow was a Tier Four Peak Ranger, after all. His Body Technique was ghostly, his dual blades vicious. But before Xuan Yi’s strength and speed, he seemed like a feral cat trying to provoke a tiger. No, not even a feral cat. A mouse, at best.

’I guess I used a little too much force...’

Lynch looked at the unrecognizable slurry of meat in Xuan Yi’s claw, the corner of his own mouth twitching in distress.

’A perfectly good Tier Four Peak corpse, and I squeezed it into pulp. How am I supposed to recycle it now? Such a waste!’

After all, the corpse of a Tier Four Peak expert was a Top Grade material for crafting High Tier Undead. To crush it so carelessly was an unforgivable waste.

But regret aside, as Lynch felt the terrifying power contained in Xuan Yi’s body, he was filled with an overwhelming sense of exhilaration.

’This body... It’s worthy of its Abyssal Demon foundation!’

He hadn’t even used his full strength in that fight—hadn’t even used much technique. He had relied purely on overwhelming physical power and had, almost by accident, butchered Blue Crow.

It was a visceral, satisfying thrill of battle that his human body was currently incapable of experiencing.

’And Xuan Yi’s membranous wings haven’t even fully repaired yet. They’re barely usable...’

Lynch took a moment to assess the body. The huge, folded wings on its back were still riddled with tears. He could only manage short glides, and even hovering was a struggle. Flying high into the sky was completely out of the question.
