Chapter 344 - 127: So Terrifying! Lord Lynch
Chapter 344: Chapter 127: So Terrifying! Lord Lynch
...
However, the Lynch of today was a far cry from his former self.
After his mentor’s hellish special training, his Spiritual Power had been forged to be incomparably solid, and his will was as tough as iron.
Not to mention, the Profound Yin Qi was itself a Negative Energy of the utmost purity. After completing the initial Body Tempering stage of the [Profound Yin Body Refining Spell], the foundation of the Profound Yin Qi within him was incredibly stable. How could it be so easily shaken by a mere wisp of an Abyssal remnant that had lost its source?
"Hmph! A mere remnant dares to stir up trouble in my presence!"
Lynch snorted coldly, instantly casting aside all distracting thoughts and immersing his entire consciousness into the strand of Profound Yin Qi at his fingertip.
He no longer tried to force the condensation of the Corpse Core, changing his strategy instead.
He channeled the methods of the [Profound Yin Body Refining Spell] with all his might, beginning to control the Profound Yin Qi that had invaded Grom’s Brain Domain to confront the surging Abyssal Aura head-on and annihilate each other!
There was no denying it.
The [Profound Yin Body Refining Spell], which Teacher Lester had developed by combining theories from a past life with research into this world’s laws, was truly extraordinary.
The Profound Yin Qi was not a simple aggregation of Negative Energy, but a source of Yin Energy that bordered on the "Tao." Its nature was exceedingly pure, and it possessed a natural suppressive effect against most external, malevolent energies.
At this moment, under Lynch’s masterful control, the Profound Yin Qi was like a troop of battle-hardened soldiers. Though few in number, they were highly disciplined with a stable formation.
Facing the violent and chaotic Abyssal Aura, he didn’t control the Profound Yin Qi to meet it head-on. Instead, he fought while retreating, constantly dividing, cutting, and grinding it down, devouring the Abyssal Aura bit by bit and converting it into more Profound Yin Qi.
Just like a military campaign, he and this surge of Abyssal Aura were engaged in a confrontation within the Brain Domain of Grom’s corpse.
From the outside, everything appeared calm and uneventful, but the situation was, in fact, perilous.
TZZZ TZZZ~
The Abyssal Demonic Qi and the Profound Yin Qi continuously collided, annihilated, and converted one another.
The dispersed Abyssal Demonic Qi transformed into streams of impure energy that seeped out of the corpse. They were quickly guided by the surrounding Negative Energy Array to dissipate into the Sleeping Tomb, becoming "nourishment" for the other zombies.
Meanwhile, the relatively pure "essence" within was enveloped and agitated by the Profound Yin Qi, gradually being refined into new Profound Yin Qi.
Unbeknownst to him, Lynch’s natal Profound Yin Qi was slowly but surely growing stronger, strand by strand.
"Excellent!"
Seeing the remarkable results, Lynch’s spirits lifted.
When the Abyssal Aura had suddenly erupted just now, he had been prepared to use the lunar flame power from his Moonfire Ring to forcibly purify it from the corpse. Fortunately, the situation had stabilized.
’It seems that Yenogu’s remnant and the Abyssal Demonic Qi left in Grom’s corpse, while a fatal poison to others, are actually the best whetstone and... tonic for my fledgling [Profound Yin Body Refining Spell]?’
’But on second thought, it makes perfect sense.’
’Although Abyssal Demonic Qi has a complex composition, filled with all sorts of chaotic and impure energies and possessing a powerful corrosive property, at its core, the proportion of Negative Energy is not low.’
’And since this particular Abyssal Demonic Qi originates from Yenogu, its purity is already extremely high.’
’The Profound Yin Qi just so happens to possess the ability to purify and convert Negative Energy, so it’s entirely possible to refine Profound Yin Qi from the Abyssal Demonic Qi.’
Before long, Yenogu’s remnant seemed to instinctively sense that something was wrong.
It could feel that not only was its power failing to invade and corrupt the other party, it was actually being "eaten" bit by bit.
Although this wisp of a remnant was weak and lacked full sapience, the instinct originating from an Abyss Lord filled it with brutality and a desire for destruction.
ROAR~!
An intangible roar seemed to detonate on a spiritual level, and the Abyssal Demonic Qi within Grom’s corpse became even more violent.
The dark red energy, like boiling magma, charged the defensive line of Profound Yin Qi with even greater madness. It attempted to forcibly convert this little human thief, who dared to steal its power, into an Abyssal Demon and make him its minion.
Lynch, however, remained exceedingly calm.
Like a commander on a battlefield, he no longer engaged the enemy in a costly war of attrition. He controlled the Profound Yin Qi, at times splitting it into several streams to harass the enemy from different directions, luring portions of the Abyssal Demonic Qi to advance deeper.
At other times, he would suddenly contract and concentrate his power, surrounding and annihilating the reckless "enemy" that had pushed forward.
And at other times still, he would defend a single point, using minimal energy to withstand the fiercest assaults while continuously devouring the Abyssal Demonic Qi from the flanks.
This was an all-out contest of Spiritual Power, will, and energy control.
Yenogu’s remnant possessed only ferocity and instinct, but no complete intelligence; it acted purely on impulse.
Nearly every one of Lynch’s calculations was perfect.
Under his step-by-step strategy, the effective strength of the Abyssal Demonic Qi was constantly devoured and digested by his Profound Yin Qi, growing weaker and weaker.
As time passed, the dense, impure Evil Qi filling the secret chamber grew thicker, while Lynch’s Profound Yin Qi, like a rolling snowball, slowly grew stronger through the continuous battle and refinement.
Although refining even a single strand of Abyssal Demonic Qi cost him immense mental effort, the rewards were equally considerable.
Lynch could clearly feel that his natal Profound Yin Qi had already grown thicker by about a fifth compared to when he started.
Finally, after this tug-of-war had lasted for nearly two hours, the wisp of Yenogu’s remnant seemed to at last realize that it could not defeat this tenacious invader on the "main battlefield" of the Brain Domain.
