Chapter 246: Chapter 112: I Have a Spatial Gate

Though the pace was not fast, and they would surely face countless hardships along the way, they held an inexplicable faith that one day, Lakefront Town would become a mighty vessel, weathering any storm to conquer the seas.

While Aus was busy, Lynch had not been idle either.

He too was busy every day—busy sorting through the spoils of war, busy with Meditation and training, and busy continuing to enhance the strength of his Undead Corps.

Lynch knew full well that in this treacherous Otherworld, one’s own power was always the top priority.

If he, Lynch, were already a Legend, he could turn the tide of the entire situation by himself... Of course, the realm of Legend was too distant. Lynch wasn’t one to aim too high, but instead took things one step at a time, working hard to first secure the ground beneath his feet.

Within the further reinforced and expanded Sleeping Tomb in the garrison’s basement, dense Negative Energy constantly gathered, so thick it was on the verge of solidifying.

Lynch went directly into seclusion here.

Thanks to his panel system, his Basic Meditation Skill had already broken through to Lv. 4, making his Meditation efficiency far greater than others of the same tier.

Coupled with the Ghost Moss Tea provided by his mentor Annabella and the Focus Potions he consumed regardless of cost, his Spiritual Power grew at a steady, impressive rate.

At the same time, he generously poured massive amounts of resources into strengthening his Undead Corps.

These ranged from Lower-Grade and Middle-Grade Negative Energy Crystals to various rare materials for strengthening bones, nurturing zombies, and promoting Soul Fire growth—he spared no expense.

As a result, the strength of his Skeleton Corps steadily increased. This was especially true for his core units, like the Tier Three Bone Jades, Bone Mages, Bone Wardens, and Fish Priests, whose power grew remarkably.

Newly converted Soul Fire units with potential, such as Bone Scar, were also carefully cultivated.

Both the total size and the average quality of his Sea of Skulls were on the rise.

Of course, his Zombie Corps was also growing stronger.

In addition to his own training and strengthening his forces, Lynch also dedicated a portion of his attention to two important long-term projects.

The first was the core component of a teleportation device discovered in a goblin nest: a black stone disc.

For over a year, Lynch had never given up on building a Teleportation Gate of his own.

Thus, taking advantage of the abundant funds from his "war profits," Lynch leveraged multiple channels—including his senior, Raymond; his good friend, the dwarf Copperbeard; and even his other senior, Amadis—to discreetly acquire, in batches, the various auxiliary materials, runic structures, and knowledge of spatial Magic needed to construct the Teleportation Gate.

As the project’s leaders, Sea Song and Ginko Wrench poured all their energy into the task.

Sea Song delved deep into her inherited knowledge, while Ginko Wrench put his innate goblin engineering talents to full use. Working together, they steadily advanced the project.

The second project was the treasure left to him by his fellow Transmigrator, Lester.

However, this project had hit a snag.

To get from Lakefront Town to the Angelo Mountain Range, one had to pass through the Mist Forest. But now, the part of the forest closest to Lakefront Town was occupied by a Gnoll tribe that had migrated there from parts unknown.

’If I want to get to that treasure, I’ll probably have to fight my way through them.’

Therefore, Lynch decided to first bide his time and build his strength. He would lie low, continue to develop his forces, and only after he and his army were powerful enough would he consider steamrolling his way through to claim his fellow transmigrator’s inheritance.

After all, in Lynch’s eyes, his own life was what mattered most. ’As for the inheritance, getting it would be icing on the cake. If I can’t, I can still rise to power with my own system.’

As Lynch focused on his secluded training, time slipped by quietly.

「More than twenty days after the battle of Red Ridge Castle.」

Outside a town named Iron Hammer Town in the northeast of Sardinia Province.

A travel-worn contingent of soldiers, led by a middle-aged Knight with a composed demeanor, finally reached the checkpoint outside the town.

This was the very force led by Angus Fisher.

They had spent so many days returning to their base camp only because they had taken a long detour "for safety’s sake," crossing countless rugged mountain paths and tracts of wilderness.

This very town, Iron Hammer Town, was the garrison of the "Crimson Cross," a unit under the command of the Draenei Brotherhood. Its leader, known by the moniker "Bloodhand" Johnny, was a powerful Fallen Paladin who had reached Tier Five.

The man was ruthless and an exceptional commander, with thousands of soldiers under his command. Even within the Blue Scarf faction, he was a force to be reckoned with.

And Angus had once been one of Bloodhand Johnny’s commanders.

The checkpoint guards halted Angus’s unit.

After a message was relayed, Angus’s unit was ordered to make camp where they were, while he alone was summoned into town for an audience with Bloodhand Johnny.

It was worth noting that during the arduous journey back, Angus’s long-stagnant Battle Aura had achieved a breakthrough, perhaps due to his reignited conviction. He quickly shattered his bottleneck and successfully advanced to become a Tier Four Knight.

This promotion undoubtedly gave him an extra measure of confidence and leverage for his upcoming "debriefing."

Soon, inside the military command post at the center of town, Angus met Bloodhand Johnny.

He was a powerfully built, handsome man.

He wore a standard suit of a Holy Knight’s Armor, and his aura was imperious and cold. If not for the faint, eerie crimson tinge to the Holy Light that wreathed him, he might have passed for a true Holy Knight at first glance.
