Chapter 243: Chapter 112: I Have a Space Gate
...
The atmosphere between Catherine and Amadis was already tense, like a powder keg ready to explode. Aus’s "creative" endeavor was tantamount to tossing a lit torch right into it.
Sure enough, the faces of Amadis and Catherine fell almost simultaneously. They instantly turned on him and roared.
"Aus, shut your mouth!"
After they spoke, both of them froze, then couldn’t help but look at each other.
In that single glance, the two women, who had been at each other’s throats just a second before, instantly formed a strategic alliance: first, they would deal with this guy who loved to stir up trouble and was "making things up"!
The next moment, two figures shot forward, pouncing on an Aus who was still immersed in his "creative" passion. Death Cold Qi and Holy Light Fighting Qi erupted at the same time.
"Huh? Wait! I’m just recording history... OWWWW~~"
Before Aus could finish, Amadis snatched the small booklet from his hands. With a casual flick, a ball of death energy turned it to ash.
Immediately after, Catherine slammed a fist into his stomach, twisting his face into a mask of pain.
"I’ll teach you to write! I’ll give you a ’sordid romance’!" Amadis fumed, adding a kick for good measure.
"And with such an awful title, too," Catherine added, kicking him in the butt.
Even Avril, who had been watching nervously from the side, took advantage of the chaos to rush up and quickly kick Aus twice, her blushing little face tinged with dissatisfaction.
’Aus, how dare you only write about Senior Amadis and Senior Catherine?’
’I... I was there too, you know!’
Aus was beaten until he was scurrying around with his head in his hands, begging for mercy repeatedly. "Stop hitting me! You’re going to kill someone! I-I’m just recording history, leaving behind precious research material for future generations~~"
"To hell with your history!"
"You’re slandering us!"
What followed, naturally, was another thorough beating.
However, that wasn’t the end of it. While they were beating up Aus, they discovered he had a small Space Ring.
Under the "harsh interrogation" of the women, Aus could only "humiliatingly" surrender the ring.
A scan with their Spiritual Power revealed—holy cow!
Inside were dozens of thick parchment diaries, neatly stacked, spanning a period of more than half a year.
Judging from the date on the earliest diary, he had been secretly writing since the very first day he was rescued by Lynch and arrived in Lakefront Town in the Red Ridge Mountains, right up to the present day.
Flipping open a random volume, they found it was, as expected, filled with all sorts of similarly styled entries.
For example:
"My brother, the Dominator of the Undead, had a very pleasant conversation with a certain lady today. Something seems to be up."
"The Holy Light Ice Rose cut her hair today. Could she be troubled by love?"
"The Silver Radiance Angel Avril has come to Lakefront Town. Things are getting more lively~"
"Death’s Violet brought strong liquor and drank with my brother late into the night. Their relationship is ambiguous..."
And so on and so forth.
The flowery language, rich imagination, and "vivid" plots made Amadis’s and Catherine’s faces alternate between flushed red and pale white, while Avril was so embarrassed she covered her face with her hands.
"Change it! Change all of this nonsense right now!" Amadis ground out through clenched teeth.
"Yes, destroy all of them!" Catherine’s tone was also icy.
Hearing this, Aus suddenly grew a backbone. Though his face was black and blue, he stuck his neck out. "I won’t change a thing! I am a historian with integrity! Recording the truth is my mission! If you have the guts to do... uh, have these interactions, then I have the guts to faithfully record them! This is all indispensable, precious material for future research into Brother Lynch’s great life."
"And you think you’re in the right?!"
At this, even Sea Song, who had just been enjoying the show from the sidelines, couldn’t take it anymore. Deciding this human Prince was just asking for a beating, she casually formed a small water ball and threw it in Aus’s face.
"Eeeheehee~~ Hit him! Hit him!" The little Vampire, Esther, who had wandered over at some point, clapped her small hands excitedly. She would occasionally rush in to kick Aus a couple of times, having the time of her life.
And so, for the latter half of the bonfire dinner, the courtyard became the stage for a drama titled "The Women Join Forces to Thrash the Gossip Prince."
Although Ophelia and Lilith didn’t join in, they were snickering quietly on the side, clearly enjoying the spectacle.
Lynch, on the other hand, was sweating bullets as he watched, feeling incredibly emotional.
’My brother Aus is such a good person... no, he’s my real brother. He’s drawing all the fire for me, taking the heat and shielding me from disaster~’
He silently credited Aus with a major contribution in his heart.
After the chaotic outburst...
Perhaps because they had ganged up to beat a common "enemy," the animosity between Amadis and Catherine actually eased a little.
Amadis dusted off her magic robes, glanced at Catherine, and said, "Hmph~ But speaking of which, your performance in the battle at Water Bridge was actually quite impressive, and your courage is commendable."
Catherine’s hand, which was fixing her short golden hair, paused for a moment. She replied nonchalantly, "Your surprise attack on Rock Fortress, forcing Angus to retreat... that was... decent."
Hearing this, Amadis raised her chin slightly. She was clearly pleased by the compliment, and a hint of a smile appeared on her face. "Seeing as you’re somewhat useful, staying in Lakefront Town... I suppose that’s acceptable."
But then her tone shifted, and she warned, "But you have to promise not to get any funny ideas about Junior Lynch! Otherwise..."
"Heh heh~" Catherine let out a light laugh, interrupting her threat. "I can’t promise that."
As Amadis’s eyes widened in renewed anger, Catherine continued calmly, "Junior Lynch is so outstanding. He’s exceptionally capable, responsible, and decisive. He also... knows how to care for his subordinates and his people. If I were to develop feelings for him, it would only be natural. A person’s heart and feelings aren’t something one can completely control."
