Thanks to My Tycoon System, Divorced, Remarried, and Making Millions
Chapter 206 - 80: 60% of Moda Film and Television, Zhiwei Barbecue
Shen Yanzhi’s hand at his side involuntarily tightened. He nodded. "Yes."
’But my wife will only be Jiang Li, no one else.’
Jiang Li had been hopeful, but Shen Yanzhi’s single "Yes" made her expression fall instantly.
’So I really was overthinking things. I thought I was one-of-a-kind, but it seems he’d treat any wife this way.’
She irritably gave Shen Yanzhi a shove. "Why are you crowding me in here? Does the bathroom smell good to you?"
Shen Yanzhi was a bit bewildered, not knowing why Jiang Li had suddenly gotten angry.
He scratched his head and glanced at Jiang Li’s belly. "Are you hungry? Want to go out and get something to eat?"
It was almost ten o’clock. Although Jiang Li had eaten quite a bit for lunch, it was just noodles, not a proper meal. He figured she must be hungry by now.
Jiang Li had been fine until Shen Yanzhi mentioned it, but now her stomach started to growl.
She instinctively touched her stomach and licked her lips. "I want to get barbecue."
Jiang Li was already in a bad mood, and Shen Yanzhi didn’t want to make things worse. He agreed readily, "Sure, no problem."
Shen Yanzhi’s answer surprised Jiang Li a little. She then nodded. "Okay, I’ll go ask Dad if he wants to get food."
She walked a few steps further into the room and saw Jiang Bowen moistening Jing Shiyun’s lips with a cotton swab. She couldn’t help but ask, "Dad, we’re going to eat. Do you want to come with us?"
Jiang Bowen waved his hand dismissively. "I’ll stay here. You two go ahead."
Jing Shiyun nudged Jiang Bowen and said weakly, "That’s right, it’s getting late. You two should go home for now. You can come back tomorrow."
Seeing Jiang Li frown, Jing Shiyun spoke again. "You’re carrying a child. You need to rest well. Be good."
Jiang Li sighed silently. "Alright, we’ll come back tomorrow then."
Her gaze fell on Jiang Bowen as she asked tentatively, "Should I hire another caregiver? It’s hard for Dad to take care of you all by himself. Plus, he’s getting older and can’t pull all-nighters."
Jing Shiyun thought about it and agreed. If Jiang Bowen wore himself out taking care of her, it wouldn’t be worth it.
"Okay, you handle the arrangements."
Jiang Li made an OK sign with her hand. "No problem."
She immediately sent a message to Liu Qian, asking the director to arrange it.
Outside the hospital room, Jiang Li stretched her neck. "I want to go to Zhiwei."
Zhiwei Barbecue, the ultimate pit stop for women.
Not for any other reason, but because it was staffed by muscular young men who were shirtless, wearing only an apron.
Every single one of them had a top-tier physique, making it hard for anyone to leave.
Shen Yanzhi paused, wondering why Jiang Li suddenly wanted to go to Zhiwei.
But since it was her request, he could only oblige. "Okay."
Jiang Li had originally wanted to provoke Shen Yanzhi, but she hadn’t expected him to agree without a moment’s hesitation.
’Hmph. Scumbag.’
’He’s not even a little bit jealous.’
’It seems he really doesn’t like me.’
She stomped ahead with big steps. Seeing this, Shen Yanzhi quickly followed with long strides, afraid of losing her.
Once in the car, Shen Yanzhi took the initiative and held Jiang Li’s hand. "Can you tell me why you’re angry?"
Jiang Li turned her head away, refusing to look at Shen Yanzhi. Her eyes fixed on the scenery outside the window as she said in a calm voice, "I’m not angry."
Shen Yanzhi let go of her hand. He placed one hand on her shoulder and used the other to grip her chin, forcing her to turn her head back to him.
Meeting Jiang Li’s placid, emotionless gaze, Shen Yanzhi sighed silently and said sincerely, "Xiao Li, we’re husband and wife. If something’s on your mind, you should say it. Don’t keep it bottled up."
Jiang Li blinked. "The thing is, I don’t have anything bottled up."
Seeing this, Shen Yanzhi knew he couldn’t get through to her. He conceded, "Okay. You don’t."
The atmosphere remained tense all the way to Zhiwei.
As soon as they reached the entrance, a host came up to greet them. "Welcome, distinguished guests. Do you have a reservation?"
Jiang Li nodded. "Miss Jiang."
After Shen Yanzhi had agreed, she had texted Xie Wan and asked her to make a reservation.
The host spoke to the front desk through their earpiece. After confirming the reservation, they said, "Very well, right this way, please."
They followed the host through a series of turns and finally stopped at a table by the window. "Distinguished guests, this is your table. Please have a seat."
After speaking, the host even helped pull out a chair. Jiang Li nodded. "Thank you."
"Our professional chef will be taking care of you now. I hope you enjoy your meal."
The words had barely left the host’s mouth when a sturdy man in his early thirties with a buzz cut walked up. "Good evening, distinguished guests. I’ll be your barbecue chef for tonight. You can call me Qian."
