Ten Lucky Draws: I Got Ten SSS-Rank Talents!
Chapter 3: Ten SSS-Rank Talents
The ten empty slots hovered before Leon, each one surrounded by a faint golden glow. He stared at them without blinking, his expression completely different from the playful one he had worn moments earlier.
There was no joke on his lips now, no sarcastic remark waiting to escape, because Leon understood exactly what this moment represented. For the first time in months, someone had placed an opportunity in front of him instead of a deadline.
His hands slowly tightened into fists. "Before I begin, I need to understand something," Leon said, his voice calm but noticeably more serious than before. "You said every transmigrator receives ten draws, but you never explained what I can actually draw. Are these talents, skills, items, bloodlines, classes, or something else entirely?"
He then looked directly into the god’s golden eyes. "And more importantly, how much of what I draw will actually matter in the world I’m being sent to?"
The God of Transmigration studied him for several seconds before answering. "They can be talents, abilities, bloodlines, weapons, treasures, constitutions, classes, or other extraordinary rewards, depending on the rules of the world you enter. However, your draws have already been determined to favor talents because of the nature of your transmigration."
Leon looked at the ten slots again. Something stirred in his chest, but he forced himself to remain composed. He had spent too many months watching hope turn into disappointment to allow himself to become drunk on this. Still, his voice softened when he spoke again. "Then let’s see what I received."
The first slot erupted with golden light.
[Congratulations! You have obtained an SSS-Rank Talent!]
[SSS-Rank Talent: Infinite Growth]
[Description: Your growth possesses no fixed upper limit. Attributes, abilities, physical potential, and other aspects of your existence may continue to improve without encountering a ceiling.]
An SSS-Rank Talent in his first try? This is going to be interesting, the god thought.
Leon read the description twice. His eyes lingered on the words no fixed upper limit before he slowly exhaled. "So if the people in this world have a maximum potential, I don’t."
The god nodded. "Correct."
Leon’s expression became thoughtful. "That alone could completely change my future. If I have enough time and resources, there’s theoretically nothing stopping me from surpassing anyone."
"That is the simplest interpretation," the god said. "The talent does not make you strong immediately. It merely ensures that your potential will never become the chain preventing you from becoming stronger."
Leon nodded slowly. He understood the distinction. Unlimited potential meant nothing if he died before using it. Strength still needed to be earned, and the thought made him strangely relieved. He didn’t want everything handed to him without effort. After spending his entire previous life having his body betray him, the idea of possessing a body that could continuously become stronger felt almost unreal.
The second slot illuminated.
[SSS-Rank Talent: Supreme Comprehension]
[Description: Your ability to understand skills, combat methods, spells, and laws is vastly superior to others. With sufficient exposure, complex concepts may be comprehended at extraordinary speed.]
Leon stared at the talent before looking toward the god. "How extraordinary is extraordinary?"
The god raised an eyebrow. "You are asking for a numerical measurement of something that cannot be conveniently measured."
Leon nodded. "Fair enough. Then let me phrase it differently. If someone spends ten years mastering a technique, what happens if I study the same technique?"
"With that talent, you may accomplish in days what takes another person years."
Leon’s eyes sharpened.
The ability to rapidly comprehend skills meant Leon could potentially master an enormous number of abilities in a fraction of the time it took others, giving him the potential to become virtually unrivaled before long. The thought made his eyes gleam with anticipation, but he quickly pushed it aside and continued reading as the third slot opened.
[SSS-Rank Talent: Eternal Mana]
[Description: Your mana regeneration possesses extraordinary efficiency. Your recovery speed will increase alongside your growth, allowing you to maintain skills for prolonged periods.]
Leon let out a slow breath as he processed the first three talents. "So Infinite Growth gives me unlimited potential, Supreme Comprehension lets me master skills at an extraordinary pace, and Eternal Mana means I won’t have to worry about running out of mana easily."
The God of Transmigration gave a faint nod, clearly amused by how quickly Leon had grasped the synergy between them. "That’s three talents down. You’ve still got seven more waiting for you. Shall we see what the fourth draw brings?"
"Indeed."
The fourth slot opened.
[SSS-Rank Talent: Absolute Adaptation]
[Description: Your body and abilities can gradually adapt to hostile environments, energies, poisons, curses, attacks, and other extraordinary phenomena. Repeated exposure to a threat increases your resistance to that threat.]
For the first time, Leon’s composure cracked slightly.
"Adaptation?"
"Yes."
Leon stared at the talent description, his expression becoming unusually serious. "It says hostile phenomena and poisons. My old world was filled with diseases that destroyed people despite all our medical advances. If I had this talent back then, would my body have been able to adapt to my illness?"
The god was silent for a moment, his golden eyes resting on Leon with an unreadable expression. Then he gave a slow nod. "Indeed. Your body would have had adapted to the disease and eventually overcome it."
Leon lowered his eyes.
That single word struck harder than any confirmation could have. It was an answer that came far too late, one that could do nothing for the life he had already lost, yet it reminded him of everything his own body had taken from him. His fingers trembled for a brief moment before he clenched them tightly, forcing the emotion back down. "I see."
Leon then took a breath and looked back at the screen. "I won’t dwell on it. What’s the next one?"
The fifth slot exploded into brilliant light.
[SSS-Rank Talent: Skill Evolution]
[Description: Skills possessed by the user are not permanently fixed. Skills/Talents can evolve into superior forms, gaining greater power, altered properties, or entirely new functions.]
Leon nodded slowly as he considered the implications. "So even an ordinary skill could potentially evolve into something extraordinary."
"Correct."
Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly with growing interest. "And if I obtain a powerful skill in the first place?"
The god’s lips curled into a faint smile. "Then there is always the possibility that it will become even more powerful."
A small smile appeared on Leon’s face. "That’s convenient."
"Very."
Before Leon could ask anything else, the sixth slot suddenly lit up, drawing both their attention toward the glowing system interface.
