After a lively event, there was a rare moment of peace.

On the last day of the National Day holiday, Candy turned over in bed and continued sleeping.

Getting up is simply impossible.

These past few days, there hasn’t been a single decent night’s sleep, and tomorrow I have to go back to school. This morning, come what may, I must lazily sleep a bit more.

Watching Candy turn over and fall asleep again, Zero shrugged helplessly.

Downstairs in the dining room.

Mo Jingchun and Li Xuanyu were eating, and as soon as Zero came down, before Mo Jingchun could ask, Li Xuanyu inquired:

"Where’s Candy?"

"Failed to boot up, went back to sleep."

"Oh~ never mind then, let her sleep a bit longer. It’s the same if she eats after waking up. She’s been exhausted these days, she deserves more sleep..."

As she was speaking, Li Xuanyu suddenly paused.

Realizing a major issue at the same time, Mo Jingchun looked up slightly surprised and said:

"Oh no, Candy hasn’t touched her school bag since she returned, not a single word of homework written."

Seeing Mo Jingchun and his wife about to shout for Candy to get up, Zero quickly waved his hand and said:

"No need, Candy has already finished all her homework."

"Finished?" Mo Jingchun was a bit surprised.

"Yeah, yeah, she did it all at night, and I can vouch for it. Bun can too."

"Really finished it? That’s rare, doing her homework so proactively."

Zero, sitting by the table, just smiled silently.

Candy has cared about her honor since she was little.

As the class monitor, how could Candy lead by example and not complete her homework?

Moreover, that homework, although time-consuming for Candy, posed no real difficulty at all.

When the sun was high, Candy naturally awoke, lazily stretching like a little kitten.

"Hmm~"

"Zero?"

Candy looked around, surprised that Zero was not there.

"Zero?"

"He’s downstairs. Quick, come down; your sister-in-law is counting money."

Minutes later, Candy, touching her rumbling stomach, ran downstairs and was awestruck by the table full of money.

This must be many, many times her New Year money!

"(⊙o⊙) Wow!"

"Sister-in-law, so much money."

Her call of "sister-in-law" brought a wide smile to Li Xuanyu’s face.

"Come over quickly, finders keepers, this is my personal stash."

Mo Jingchun, sitting on the couch reading, twitched the corner of his mouth.

Personal stash.

He didn’t even know where his own stash was.

For the past few years, his cash on hand had never exceeded Candy’s.

Under the expectant gazes of Candy and Zero, Li Xuanyu gave each of them a hundred.

"Here, you get a share too."

Looking at the hundred-dollar bill his wife handed over, Mo Jingchun said with delight:

"Wow! I get a share too!"

"Of course."

The next second, Li Xuanyu looked at the table full of cash, her face worried as she picked up the ledger.

It was neatly filled with names and gift amounts, even marked with relationships.

"With all these connections, how can I ever pay them back? It’s mortally vexing."

Hearing this, Mo Jingchun smiled brightly at Li Xuanyu and said:

"There’s nothing to worry about. When it’s time to reciprocate, Zero will naturally remind you. If there’s no reminder, it means there’s no need to bother."

"Really? Zero."

Putting the money into his pocket, Zero nodded quietly and said:

"Absolutely, such a simple task wouldn’t even require much computing power."

Imitating Zero, Candy also put her money into her pocket.

Otherwise, her sister-in-law might reclaim it later, and that wouldn’t be fun.

"Candy, is your homework done?"

"Yeah, finished. I completed it the day before yesterday when you brought sister-in-law home."

"Brother, do you want to check it?"

Mo Jingchun shook his head and said: "No need, brother trusts you."

"Besides, if you didn’t finish your homework, the teacher would tell me anyway."

Hearing her brother’s words, Candy couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

The first part was a lie; the latter was the real truth.

Who wants to be called to the teacher’s office!

"Hungry?"

Candy grinned, nodding at her sister-in-law. Her sister-in-law truly cared, unlike her brother, who only asked about homework.

"I’ll go heat up some noodles for you."

............

In the evening, Mo Jingchun and his group returned to the villa in the county.

Opening the door, Mo Jingchun saw Zhou Yaling had already prepared a table full of dishes waiting for them. Mo Jingchun praised without restraint:

"Truly wonderful! Your cooking skills really do Bin a favor."

Zhou Yaling rolled her eyes at her brother, responding unhappily:

"Brother, you’re dissing my Bin again."

"Tut tut tut... Is this the power of love? Starting to defend your beau."

"Alright, alright, you worked hard to prepare such a lovely spread; be satisfied."

Saying that, Li Xuanyu pulled Zhou Yaling to sit down first.

"Candy, wash your hands for dinner."

"Oh~ coming right away."

The next evening, Mo Jingchun realized why Zhou Yaling had willingly cooked a meal.

This person has been liberated, no longer needing to come home and cook every day.

In the work area, during the morning meeting, Li Xuanyu noticed the change in her team members’ gaze and raised an eyebrow, saying:

"Everyone just carry on as usual; I’m just an ordinary person, no need to add halos around me. I hope we can stay united and loving, just like before."

After the meeting, in the restroom, Li Xuanyu looked at herself in the mirror and felt an indescribable sensation.

Since arriving at the company this morning, she clearly felt the change in people’s gaze.

When they looked at her, there was a newfound trace of reverence.

This sudden sense of distance made Li Xuanyu a bit uncomfortable.

Li Xuanyu couldn’t help but wonder how Candy managed to get along harmoniously with everyone at the company.

"Good morning, boss lady."

Walking into Mo Jingchun’s office, Xia Xiaomin’s morning greeting felt awkward to Li Xuanyu.

"Good morning."

Sitting at the desk, Mo Jingchun looked up at Li Xuanyu approaching and said with a smile:

"How about switching positions? Come work with me as a second secretary."

Hearing this, Li Xuanyu rolled her eyes at Mo Jingchun and said:

"I prefer the feeling of developing software; being a secretary doesn’t suit me."

"It’s just that the deliberate distance everyone is keeping makes it hard for me to adapt."

Knocking on the desk, Mo Jingchun pondered a while before saying:

"Maintain your original interpersonal style. Trust me, once everyone sees you’re the same as before, they’ll gradually dispel their concerns and return to how they were."

"Will it work?"

"It will! Trust me, I’ve read books on psychology."
