Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids
Chapter 864 - 862: Dark Cuisine
Bun, who was heartlessly pushed away by Candy, wore a resentful expression and turned his head, only to see Little Grey grinning foolishly.
The more he looked, the more it felt like he was being mocked.
Without any hesitation, Bun walked up and smacked Little Grey hard.
"Meow~"
Little Grey, utterly bewildered, tilted his head at Bun, sitting on the ground, having done nothing to provoke anyone, wondering why he just got smacked for no reason.
After glancing at Bun, he decided, forget it, he couldn’t win. Little Grey got up and returned to the doghouse, that space that was half his.
"Chicken wings, ginger, cola. Blanch the chicken wings in water briefly and set aside. Damn, how long is ’briefly’ supposed to be?"
Feeling the video host was unreliable, Qian Zhubin quickly switched to another.
"Oh, turns out it’s five minutes."
Following the steps, Qian Zhubin put the chicken wings into the pot.
"Let them cook first; I’ll fry up a few of my signature dishes."
Listening to the noises from the kitchen, which sounded like cooking, Zhou Yaling breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, she really didn’t know how Qian Zhubin’s cooking skills were since she had never tasted them.
Sixteen minutes, Mo Jingchun and the others successfully stole the opponent’s crystal. That’s the advantage of a five-player team; effective communication often provides more leverage than having one top player, especially during rotations and team fights.
Moreover, there were two experts in the team.
Just as Candy and the others were still basking in the joy of victory, White unexpectedly dashed toward the kitchen.
One second after White slid open the kitchen door, Mo Jingchun and the others smelled a burnt odor.
"Oh crap, did the kitchen catch fire?"
Mo Jingchun, startled for a moment, was the first to get up and run over.
Reaching the kitchen door, Mo Jingchun saw Qian Zhubin standing awkwardly to the side, while White calmly removed the smoking pan from the gas stove.
Pinching his nose, Mo Jingchun said disdainfully, "Bro, are you cooking or setting my kitchen on fire? What is this charred mess in the pan?"
"Cola chicken wings, forgot to add the cola."
Behind him, Li Xuanyu stifled a smile; cola chicken wings without cola, can they still be called cola chicken wings?
And hiding even further back, Zhou Yaling covered her face, feeling too embarrassed to be seen.
But Candy, not afraid of making a scene, squeezed to the front.
"Wow! It’s dark cuisine!"
Candy’s remark heightened the awkwardness.
At this moment, having handled the potential hazard, White placed the pan aside, blinked, and said, "The coating is burnt, it’s not recommended to continue using it; continued use might introduce harmful substances."
Qian Zhubin had a glaring expression of embarrassment on his face.
After White exited, Mo Jingchun patted Qian Zhubin’s shoulder, speaking earnestly, "Bin, those two plates of greens you fried looked alright, just cook your signature dishes. Don’t try new recipes in my kitchen, really. If the remaining pan gets ruined, we’ll have no choice but to eat out."
"Let’s clear out; don’t disturb the chef cooking."
Candy was forcibly dragged out by Mo Jingchun. After returning to the living room, the atmosphere felt strange.
"Ahem, what did Bin tell you."
Zhou Yaling emotionlessly glances at her nosy brother, saying blandly, "He said he could take charge of the kitchen from now on."
"Hahaha. Sis, this shouldn’t be left to big brother, it could burn the house down."
..............................
Over an hour later, at noon, starving Mo Jingchun took the initiative to head to the kitchen.
"Bin, are the dishes ready? I’m starving."
"Ready, serve the dishes."
"Hmm? Why are they all greens, where’s the meat dishes?"
"I don’t know how to make them."
"What?"
"I don’t know how."
Mo Jingchun paused for a while, sighed looking at the dozen plates of greens, and said, "Alright, no meat dishes it is, just don’t brag next time."
At these words, Qian Zhubin looked at Mo Jingchun with a resentful expression and said, "It’d be nice if you didn’t trick me."
"Hahaha, well, the weather’s pretty nice today."
"Xuanyu, come over and bring the dishes for dinner."
After speaking, Mo Jingchun carried two plates of greens and slipped away.
At the dining table, Candy, ready to dig in with bowl and chopsticks, was stunned to see a complete array of vegetables.
"Where’s the meat?"
"No meat, kids will get malnourished."
"Ahem, skipping one meal won’t matter, don’t ask, eat."
"Oh~" Candy pouted, when her brother speaks there’s no arguing.
"Brother, serve me a bowl of rice."
"Alright."
Mo Jingchun, carrying Candy’s bowl into the kitchen, didn’t notice that when Candy asked for rice, Qian Zhubin, about to take a sip of his drink, was suddenly frozen.
When Mo Jingchun opened the rice cooker and saw it was empty, he fell silent.
Silence is today’s bridge of Cambridge.
Emerging from the kitchen expressionlessly, Mo Jingchun placed the bowl before Candy, calmly said, "Here, eat."
"Okay... where’s my rice?"
Looking at the empty bowl, Candy was full of question marks.
"Brother?"
"Don’t look at me, ask your brother Qian, where’s the rice?"
Seeing everyone’s eyes on him, Qian Zhubin blushed instantly. With his head lowered, he stammered, "Busy frying dishes, forgot to cook rice."
Candy’s eyes widened in disbelief looking at big brother.
Cooking and forgetting to make rice? Isn’t it supposed to be cooked first before frying meals? Even kids know that, but big brother forgot.
"Sigh~" Candy sighed softly, despairing, "Looks like we’ll only eat vegetarian today."
With a bit of hunger, Candy gave up resisting and was the first to grab some greens into her bowl with chopsticks.
But...
Candy looked around confused, asking, "Why are you all staring at me? Aren’t you hungry too? Eat up, don’t be shy."
"Try the taste first."
Upon hearing that, Candy raised her eyebrows, trying to fool me?
Next second, Candy unhesitatingly took a bite.
"The taste’s alright, just can’t compare to brother and sister."
Hearing Candy’s assessment, Mo Jingchun and the others were immediately relieved.
"Let’s make do, big feast tonight when we go out."
Seeing her siblings take a bite, Candy instantly spat out the greens.
"Help, it’s too salty!"
Candy took several swigs of juice before the bitterness in her mouth eased.
"Candy, you tricked us."
"Hahaha, who told you all to gang up and bully me when I’m little."
"I’m not dumb."
"Hmph, you all fell for it this time."
"Look at big brother, he didn’t even pick up his chopsticks."
Candy’s trick to divert attention was effective, focusing everyone’s scrutinizing gaze on Qian Zhubin.
"Ahem, well, at this point, let’s go to a hotel, my treat."
Qian Zhubin awkwardly glanced around; he normally could fry greens decently, but just couldn’t find the oyster sauce in the kitchen.
