Chapter 858 - 856: What Are You Saying!

Knowing it’s impossible, yet still asking.

At this moment, Xia Xiaomin felt no waves in her heart; this wasn’t the first time today a customer had inquired about such matters.

Really persistent, Xia Xiaomin couldn’t believe that there was no information exchange among these merchants.

Though she scorned them inside, for the sake of money, Xia Xiaomin maintained a faint smile on her face.

"I’m really sorry, but even I have never entered the laboratory over there."

"Not even to just get close to the two laboratory buildings."

With that, Xia Xiaomin smiled wryly, "Sir, you could try standing outside and gazing at the laboratory buildings."

"No, thank you." Sweyn Cobb shook his head and directly refused. Joking aside, Sweyn Cobb didn’t want to risk getting observed standing beside Xia Xiaomin near the laboratory buildings without permission.

Sweyn Cobb was also concerned about ending up on some government list without reason.

"Ahem, I’m just a legitimate businessman."

Xia Xiaomin nodded, unsure if she truly believed it or if she was just humoring Sweyn Cobb, most likely the latter.

The delivery point for the space suits was on an empty lot outside the No. 1 Laboratory Building, where a small tent was temporarily set up.

Under the tent, there were only two chairs, with nothing extra.

Standing under the sun, Sweyn Cobb, sweating profusely, had no desire to tour the laboratory; all he wanted was to collect his goods quickly and leave, to get back into an air-conditioned car.

Who knows what Candy Technology was thinking, making customers pick up their goods under the sun.

They called it an inspection, but it was essentially just filming a short video and having two accompanying experts conduct a basic check on the space suits.

Seeing the two experts nod at each other, Sweyn Cobb sighed with relief and forced a smile saying, "Ms. Xia, we won’t bother your company any further."

"Please!"

In Mo Jingchun’s private laboratory, Zero was busy fixing the newly out-of-service small production line, grinning and bearing it.

"Darn thing, going on strike after just 48 hours of nonstop work. I’m going to suggest to the boss that you need an upgrade."

After wasting over ten minutes, Zero replaced the new control unit, gave the command for the assembly line to resume operation, and then looked disdainfully at his own grimy hands.

When Xia Xiaomin saw Zero coming out of the laboratory building, she greeted him with a smile.

"How’s it going?"

"With me on it, what could go wrong? Rest assured, I’ve ramped up production; there won’t be any delay in delivery. But what about you, with emergency deliveries scheduled for eleven o’clock tonight, are you holding up okay?"

"No problems at all." Xia Xiaomin stood tall and proud; with the money already in place, working overtime until eleven, or even all night, posed no issue.

Seeing Xia Xiaomin full of fighting spirit, Zero scratched his head and asked in confusion, "No, did you misunderstand what I meant?"

"I meant, the delivery work can completely be handed over to White; you don’t need to do it personally, otherwise the boss wouldn’t only give you 200 bucks commission per space suit but 400."

Xia Xiaomin was full of question marks; is that what the boss meant?

"Wouldn’t having White do the delivery seem too indifferent to the clients?"

"Ha, do you think genuine clients won’t have a contract signed by the boss? Will they really instruct people to set up a shed and make deliveries under the sun?"

"Makes so much sense! I’ll get back to the office then; I’ve got other work waiting."

Watching Xia Xiaomin rush off, Zero shook his head and turned in the direction of the Candy Kindergarten.

Candy’s little brother, an interesting little fellow.

In the quiet meeting room, everyone harbored their own thoughts.

As time ticked over to another hour, everyone looked towards the door, as per the pattern summarized earlier in the afternoon: every hour, Xia Xiaomin would come over and call companies one by one for pick-ups.

Who would be next?

No one wanted to stay a minute longer in this stifling meeting room; even an extra minute felt like torture.

Just then, the door opened.

Yet, to everyone’s surprise, it wasn’t the expected Xia Xiaomin, but White — the cheerful-looking yet incredibly strong and adorable White known to everyone.

As a household assistant robot, White was exceptional, yet similarly, White was formidable in combat due to the combat chip.

A viral video of White’s real-life combat can still be found online, and most of them had seen it.

Under the eyes of everyone, White blinked playfully as it pushed open the door, revealing a folder from behind.

The blue folder was no stranger to the people here; it had always been in Xia Xiaomin’s hand.

What’s the situation now...

"Dear guests, good afternoon, the upcoming delivery process will be fully accompanied by White."

"Would the relevant personnel from PLD please come with me to collect your goods, thank you."

In the elevator, the PLD people felt rather stifled — merely mentioning a visit to the laboratory was enough to have White’s eyes turn red in an instant.

With a devilish smile, they were truly worried White might actually attack in the elevator.

At this moment, Diane, who was in charge, finally realized why none of the previous people were willing to divulge any information; such treatment, of course, they’d want those following to experience it too.

Diane had decided that after collecting the goods, she absolutely wouldn’t disclose even a single word.

On the rooftop, Xia Xiaomin, standing by the window, watched White successfully make the delivery before she reassuredly returned to her desk to continue with her duties.

In recent days, after the commencement of Anyang Base’s hardening works, she had been receiving a steady stream of paperwork. Fortunately, the lower-level staff had already organized everything; she just needed to check the documents for any issues, stamp them with the boss’s seal, and send one copy back.

At five in the afternoon, after spending an entire afternoon playing with Candy’s little brother in kindergarten, Candy patted the little brother’s shoulder and said sincerely, "Little brother, Big Sister has already carved out a realm in elementary school for you. In another year, you’ll be able to continue following me to conquer it."

"Once you’re in elementary school, with Big Sister around, I guarantee no one will dare to bully you."

Hearing this, Wang Haoran scratched his head and asked naively, "Big Sister, wasn’t it true that even in first grade, nobody dared to bully you?"

"That’s a given."

Just as she finished her words, Candy hesitated for a moment before saying, "It’s not entirely true; I was still really scared of teachers and the homeroom teacher. I’ve lived my whole life as Candy, fearing nothing, except for teachers calling parents."

"Understood, Big Sister is afraid of your brother."

What nonsense! Candy was so angry she put her hands on her hips.

Boldly she said, "Me, afraid of my brother? Impossible! It’s just that I don’t want my brother to worry."

Sitting behind Candy, sketching and drawing, Zero silently turned his back to Candy after hearing this.
