Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids
Chapter 835 - 833: Cat Walking Dog
Back at the company, Zhou Yaling greeted the employees in the purchasing department and left in a hurry.
She left two bewildered purchasers behind.
"What do we do now?"
"Let it stew."
The two of them sighed in unison.
They exchanged a glance and decided to pass the problem on to the boss.
Neither of them were foolish; they understood the signal implicit in the sudden demotion of this big shot, trailing after them doing legwork.
But what does that have to do with them?
They aren’t the bosses anyway, it doesn’t matter who leads the department as far as they’re concerned.
As long as it doesn’t go too far, no one will say anything.
After coordinating with the gardening team for supplies, the two left.
Meanwhile, Zhou Yaling emerged from the elevator and headed straight for her brother’s office.
Honestly, Candy’s gift had raised her expectations quite a bit.
As for being angry, well, what’s the use of being mad overnight with a kid, especially when no harmful words were spoken.
As she stepped through the door, she heard Candy shout loudly:
"Sis, you’re back!"
Originally sitting in the office chair, daydreaming with her chin on her hands, Candy immediately perked up and ran towards Zhou Yaling.
Without a word, she grabbed Zhou Yaling’s hand and led her towards the desk.
"Sis, I bought you a gift; don’t be mad, okay?"
She spoke with a hint of distress, "I spent more than three thousand dollars!"
Zhou Yaling’s lips curled slightly, though she hid her true thoughts well.
Three thousand plus, tsk tsk, aside from what’s saved in the safe for New Year’s money, Candy must have blown through all her pocket money.
Probably not enough, likely her brother covered part of it.
"Ta-da! This is the gift I got you~"
Candy handed the wrapped box into her sister’s arms, her eyes wide and bright, awaiting her sister’s reaction.
"Skincare water?" Zhou Yaling said, surprised.
Candy nodded excitedly, "Mm-hmm."
"Alright, I forgive you."
Holding the skincare water, Zhou Yaling eagerly unwrapped the box.
She recognized it immediately; it was the skincare water she had always been reluctant to buy.
Despite her monthly salary exceeding ten thousand, when it came to spending thousands on skincare water, Zhou Yaling really couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Isn’t it better to have the money sitting in the bank earning interest?
After putting away the skincare water, Zhou Yaling looked around and asked in surprise:
"Where are Bun and Little Grey? Haven’t they returned from their walk?"
Upon hearing this, Candy laughed cheekily and said, "Sister, I let Bun take the dog for a walk. Aren’t I clever!
Not only did I achieve Bun’s exercise and weight loss goals, I saved myself some energy."
"A cat walking a dog, only you two could come up with that."
Shaking her head in exasperation, Zhou Yaling said:
"I bet those two are holed up somewhere sleeping."
"No way!" Candy replied confidently.
Zero was the source of her confidence.
Candy trusted that Zero’s design wouldn’t pose any problems.
"Zero, is Bun still walking the dog?"
As soon as the words were spoken, under Zhou Yaling and Candy’s watchful eyes, Zero gently nodded.
"In the basement, wandering around. Besides, Bun seems to really enjoy walking the dog."
"Oh? How so?"
Zero chuckled, "Bun took Little Grey for a mad dash through the basement."
Just then, Mo Jingchun walked in from outside, holding a thermos cup.
"What mad dash are you talking about."
"Hey! You’re back, how’s it going."
Mo Jingchun said, opening the thermos and taking a sip of herbal tea.
Health is key; if you neglect it while young, don’t expect to reap its benefits when you’re older.
"Brother, I let Bun take Little Grey for a walk; they’re racing around the basement."
"Seriously?"
Mo Jingchun was quite surprised; getting those two lazybones to dash around wasn’t easy.
Especially Bun; without a little threat, it’s hard to get it moving unless you call out "meal time."
When "meal time" is called, Bun is quicker than anyone, even waking from sleep instantly, ready for chow.
Scientifically speaking, Bun has developed a conditioned response to the phrase "meal time."
What is a conditioned response? It’s when your body moves before the brain even registers what’s happening.
"It’s true! Zero just said it."
"Tsk tsk, let Bun take Little Grey out more often then."
"A cat and a dog, one too lazy to catch mice, the other too lazy to guard the house—both useless."
Shaking his head, Mo Jingchun looked at the beaming Zhou Yaling.
Sneaking a glance at Yaling’s little gesture, Mo Jingchun knew why she was so delighted.
Even he, as her brother, hadn’t received a gift from Candy using her own pocket money.
This time, Zhou Yaling hit the jackpot.
"Stop smiling so much, you’re nearly grinning ear to ear. Did you achieve anything today?"
Zhou Yaling paused, recalling the events of the morning, and after thinking seriously for a while, she shook her head under Mo Jingchun’s expectant gaze...
She shook her head...
Mo Jingchun’s smile froze.
"What’s the meaning of shaking your head?"
"It means nothing was achieved. After everyone gathered this morning, not much was said; what could I possibly achieve?
If you call recognizing a lot of flowers an achievement, then yes, I achieved something."
Her words left Mo Jingchun utterly perplexed.
Recognizing a variety of flowers, emm, could that count as an achievement?
Mo Jingchun sighed.
He wasn’t counting on Yaling being able to run the show independently.
Come to think of it, if Yaling had such talent, she wouldn’t be working in his company but rather starting up her own like several other relatives following him.
With the help from Candy Technology, as long as she doesn’t make fatal blunders, she’s already turned quite a profit.
If she insists on making bad decisions, Mo Jingchun admitted there’s not much he could do.
This inevitably brought up the little uncle’s family.
Evading taxes is one thing, but to boast about it openly? That’s criminal!
"Alright, for now you’ll still handle the interns; I’ll consider what roles might suit you."
"I’m actually quite content with my current role."
Upon hearing this, Mo Jingchun glared at Zhou Yaling and said:
"Why don’t you have some ambition? Are you planning to stay a secretary forever?"
Zhou Yaling fell silent; truth be told, to maintain the status quo was undoubtedly her happiest option.
But her brother’s disappointed glances forced her to swallow what she wanted to say.
Watching from the sidelines for quite some time, Candy yawned and casually commented, "Sis, you have a preschool teaching certificate, don’t you? Be a kindergarten principal."
"Being a principal is impressive; you get to manage all the little kids."
Oh no! Zhou Yaling noticed the spark in her brother’s eyes.
Just when she thought her brother would assign her to the headache-filled role of a kindergarten principal, he shook his head.
"No way, with your abilities, being a preschool teacher seems beyond you, let alone taking on the greater responsibilities of a principal."
The kindergarten may be small, but there are quite a few children; not everyone can be a principal over so many kids.
