Tech Dominator Starts with Raising Kids
Chapter 829 - 827: Candy: Can You See the Faint Sadness on My Face
Learning to walk?
Li Wanning chuckled, thinking she was also eagerly waiting for when her two adorable daughters would learn to walk.
Generally speaking, kids learn to walk a little after one year old, although they teeter, they’re walking nonetheless.
If development is a bit delayed, learning to walk takes even longer.
Speaking of which, kids are the cutest when they’re just a few months old; apart from eating, they just sleep, spending most of the time dozing off.
But once the kids learn to walk, and even run, that’s when the parents’ nightmare begins.
"Oh, is Wenjing hungry? Look at that little tongue sticking out."
Li Wanning glanced over and said with a smile:
"No, I just fed them before you arrived."
"This child, she just loves sticking out her tongue. I’ve been worried about how to handle it lately."
Candy was puzzled, thinking Wenjing sticking out her little tongue made her even cuter, combined with her adorable big eyes, it was hard not to pinch her cheek.
"Wanning, why worry? The little sister is so cute~"
"You’re still young, you don’t understand. I’m worried Wenjing might get used to sticking out her tongue, and when she grows up, she might have a big tongue and not speak clearly."
"Don’t we have reasons to worry?"
Concerned about unclear speech, Candy turned back to look at Zero, who nodded and said:
"There’s indeed a very big chance."
"What should we do then?"
"When she’s a bit older, a pacifier will do. But don’t let her use it too often."
Just then, Wenjing, with her big eyes wide open, suddenly pouted her little face and started crying unhappily.
Wah~wah~
With no toys and being reprimanded for sticking out her tongue, she was upset.
The shrill crying made Wenru on one side raise her tiny eyebrows, as if considering whether she should cry too, otherwise she might seem a bit out of place.
Thus, the thing Li Wanning dreaded most happened.
Both kids started wailing, each one in her arms.
"There, there, mom’s here, don’t cry."
Watching the two little sisters crying loudly, Candy dared not breathe heavily.
Indeed, looking after kids is the most exhausting.
For a moment, Candy regretted her bold claims from before, saying she would take the sisters out to play later.
Thinking of a group of crying babies behind her, Candy shivered instinctively.
Behind Candy, Zero was baffled, not understanding why Candy was suddenly scared in such a situation.
Finally putting the two daughters to sleep and carefully placing them on the bed, Li Wanning realized Candy and Zero had left without her noticing.
"Online rumors never lie; pregnancy causes brain freeze for three years."
Shaking her head, Li Wanning didn’t recall exactly when Candy and Zero left through the door.
The only concern for Li Wanning was returning to work in a few months; could her rusted brain function again?
With that thought, Li Wanning hesitated and then turned to pull out a cardboard box from under the bed.
Opening the box, it was full of books.
At noon, Xu Pengfei returned with lunch and was surprised to see an English book on the table.
"What’s going on? Preparing for another exam?"
While feeding the child, Li Wanning looked up at Xu Pengfei, her face full of worry, and said:
"After having kids, I realized my brain isn’t working well. I’m worried I won’t be able to handle work later, so I’m getting a head start."
Xu Pengfei’s mouth twitched, not arguing back, not because he worried about his wife’s future work issues, just didn’t want to disagree with his wife.
It’s a good thing to gain more knowledge, after all, who knows when it might come in handy.
On the other hand, sitting beside her brother, Candy stared at a bowl of old hen soup for almost five minutes.
After finishing dinner, Mo Jingchun saw the untouched chicken soup and raised his eyebrows, saying:
"Why not drink it? It won’t taste good once it’s cold."
Smelling that chicken soup, Candy gulped, feeling a wave of nausea, as if a bug was crawling up, wanting to burst out from her mouth.
In a brief moment, Candy decisively pushed the chicken soup in front of her brother.
Shaking her head vigorously, "I won’t drink it!"
"The smell makes me want to puke."
Mo Jingchun frowned, his worst fear realized.
This was a sign of getting tired of something.
He should’ve known not to have Candy drink chicken soup every so often.
Sighing, Mo Jingchun tearily grabbed the bowl and gulped down the chicken soup.
Burp~
"Let’s head to the kitchen and say we don’t need chicken soup anymore."
The kitchen.
The head chef readily accepted the idea of not making specially brewed chicken soup anymore.
Clearly, the head chef was genuinely happy.
The same pay for less work, anyone would be pleased.
In the following period, Candy lived almost the same daily life.
Only on Saturdays and Sundays would Mo Jingchun have time to take Candy out.
While being a third wheel, Candy didn’t mind.
Early August, another Sunday.
Come evening, though the sun had set, the city temperature had not dropped quickly, but without sunlight, being on the street was bearable.
Holding a candy figurine in her hand, Candy was anxious.
Too fast! The melting was too fast; her eating speed couldn’t keep up.
Until a certain moment, Candy suddenly stopped walking, a subtle sadness on her face.
"What’s wrong?"
Mo Jingchun, turning back, noticed Candy holding a bare stick, with the shattered candy figurine on the ground, instantly understanding her sorrow.
Alright, Mo Jingchun actually wanted to laugh, but worried if he laughed out loud, Candy would cry, so he held it in.
He took out tissues and picked up the candy pieces from the ground, tossing them into the trash.
"Throw the stick away too."
Pouting, Candy angrily tossed the stick into the trash.
"Alright, I’ll take you to buy a toy."
After wandering for more than ten minutes, Mo Jingchun and his group reached the end of the street and saw a toy store dedicated to selling toys.
After circling the toy store twice, Candy sighed, pulling her brother away from the store.
Outside the toy store, Mo Jingchun looked at Candy, baffled.
"Why not buy anything?"
"Alas~"
"Brother, didn’t you notice every toy inside, we have at home?"
"I stopped playing with the old ones; buying a new one won’t be played with either."
Suddenly, Mo Jingchun realized Candy had a lot of toys.
Pretty likely, when he has kids, he won’t need to spend money on toys either.
Seeing the subtly sad Candy, Mo Jingchun said with a smile:
"Alright, it’s just wanting to drink bubble tea, let’s buy!"
Her little eyes kept glancing toward the bubble tea shop across the road with dynamic music playing, barely holding back from directly saying she wanted to drink bubble tea.
