Chapter 1140: Vicente’s Proposal II
Chapter 1140: Vicente’s Proposal II
’The successor to the Celestial King?’ The five women and Lothur thought simultaneously after Vicente spoke of the critical point of how he intended to achieve the goal of their alliance.
How could they not know who the Celestial King was?
Legends about ancient times, albeit sparse, existed in both Hell and Argardus.
And for the immortal residents of these dimensions, searching for information about the distant past was among their favorite hobbies.
Lothur and his wives knew that in the distant past, the Celestial King had been the strongest of the Absolutes of the Ancestral Realm.
The Celestial King had been at the peak of existence, leading the dawn of life and taking part in the creation of the rules of the planes of existence. From his actions, indirect or even direct, life had flourished on the various levels of reality.
But even with all his status, prestige, power, and wisdom, the Celestial King had still fallen, disappeared, and never returned.
Absolutes should be true immortals, indestructible in the face of time and space. But even they, the highest existences, had been almost completely erased from reality long ago.
The promise of the successors not only of the Celestial King, but of his other companions from holy land has endured through the annals of history.
Supposedly, even though they had disappeared, they hadn’t faded completely because of their immortal qualities. Their will, senses and talents were left behind after the great cataclysm. As long as they didn’t recover everything they had lost, they would continue to reappear for countless cycles.
’Someone with the will or any of the senses of one of the ancient Absolutes would have enough to reach the peak of cultivation without difficulty.’ Viktoria looked at Lothur, thinking of her husband’s power and how rare those at that level were. ’But that’s just an innate quality, one of many others necessary for success.’
Annalisse also looked at her husband, thinking deeply. ’Lothur and Deity Lydis reached the 9-Star of the Transcendent stage, but they faced countless challenges on their journey.
How many times have they almost been killed? How many times did they get that resource they needed at just the right time and place?
How many times have they come so close to ending their journeys before reaching the minimum of their potential?
Not least, only the two of them have reached this sublime level.’
’Could it be that this young Devil really does know the Celestial King’s successor is already developed enough not to be a vain hope?’ Rebecca considered the possibilities.
Being born with an exceptional talent was rare. But in the over 10,000 planes of existence connected to Anicane, in its billions and billions of living beings, there should be enough beings with the potential to reach the Transcendent stage.
But how many of them wouldn’t die in infancy, before even starting their cultivation?
How many others wouldn’t die after their first challenges?
And going further, how many didn’t fail to take the decisive step and enter the 10th stage?
Going even further, how many would actually manage to overcome all the stones in their path and reach the peak of the stage, 9-Star of the Transcendent Stage?
For the last 50,000 years, only Deity Lydis of Argardus had reached the level of a peak Transcendent, before Lothur achieved the same, centuries ago!
But, according to Vicente’s words, the Celestial King’s successor would need to be at that level…
Natali thought to herself, unsure of how firm Vicente’s trump card was. ’Unfortunately, it’s not enough to hope for. Not now, at least.’ She sighed, unable to hide her expression of skepticism. Looking at her harem sisters, she knew they were thinking the same thing.
They had all reached the high level of the 10th stage and were very close to her husband’s cultivation. Even so, they knew that the distance separating them from the 9-Star was so great that they couldn’t even compare to him.
They had had all the resources, the best cultivation sites, and the best possibilities. The Hell was where one could advance the fastest on all planes of existence. Even so, they still hadn’t managed to get even a glimpse of when they might reach his magnitude.
It was almost as if…
If there was no ’room’ for others of that level.
Lothur knew all that better than anyone.
’The peak of reality’s power has declined greatly since the end of the creators era. Back then, it was possible to become an Absolute and reach the power of creation. At that level, one could make the laws and elements work at will, breaking common notions.’
Looking at his wives, Lothur thought of his biggest regret in all these years.
’With that level of power, one could break the bonds of the laws and even a supreme being could have as many descendants as they wanted!’
Power was a funny thing.
On the one hand, one had more and more control over their lives as they grew stronger. One could live longer, have fewer dangers, in short, do whatever they wanted, as long as they had power.
But, on the other hand, one would lose the grace of life, be prevented from procreating and bound by the limitations of one’s existence.
The idea of living forever was incredible for someone immature and so far removed from the solitude of immortality.
But for those who could actually exist for eons, it was terribly frightening!
With Lothur and his wives, what they most wanted was children, in other words, a complete family.
But at the level they were at, there was no hope…
’But today, 9-Star of the Transcendent stage is the ultimate peak. With this power, we can barely live forever. But we are inferior to the laws and must obey the orders of things… But even though this is such a ’low’ level, reaching it borders on impossibility!
Lothur understood better than anyone how difficult it was to reach his cultivation. Before him, only the Deity Lydis, the strongest man in existence before his infernal ascension, had reached such a level in hundreds of thousands of years.
Lothur had had a meteoric cultivation journey, almost without any bottlenecks. But even he, when he reached the 8-Star of the 10th stage, had almost given up hope of reaching the last level of the cultivation scale.
He had considered the possibility of there being a limiter on how much this reality could sustain. Perhaps, he had thought, only one could reach that level at a time.
In the end, he used the Devils’ advantage—being able to take over rival domains and strengthen himself directly—to advance his cultivation, becoming the true leader of the dimension. This raised him to his current level, but made him even more certain of how difficult it would be for anyone else to reach his level.
Unless he or Lydis died, it would be difficult for another 9-Star Transcendent to emerge!
This was another of Lothur’s worries, as he didn’t know how to help his wives improve and be totally invulnerable to this world.
All this he and his five wives knew very well, which made them suspicious that Vicente’s plan didn’t even have a 5% chance of working!
Still…
“I see…” Lothur muttered after a long time, sighing quietly. “I see no problem in allying myself with your cause, Vicente Fuller. As the Hell’s chosen child, you may bend the odds and do the unimaginable.
However, I won’t put all my cards on you. I’ll support you if necessary, but I won’t get directly involved unless this successor proves capable of accomplishing what we need from him.”
Although the odds were terrible, Lothur couldn’t give up so easily. This was, after all, the only alternative they had found after all these years!
’Even if there’s not much hope, we should give them the minimum they need!’ The five women thought in agreement.
Perhaps it wasn’t worth them taking the risk of potential enemies trying to kill the Celestial King’s successor.
Just as the Celestial King’s will had been left behind after his demise, the same applied to those who had led the Ancestral Realm to collapse.
Those beings were enemies of the Celestial King and they were also Absolutes. If any of them were at a high level in the current generation, they would certainly go after the Celestial King’s successor to kill them and prevent the realization of their ancient will!
Even though they were already so strong, this group wouldn’t take a chance with beings who could have inherited the ancient will of the creators without even having a really strong candidate to represent them!
Even sitting at the peak of existence, Lothur didn’t discount the strength that one of these successors would have, even at a lower level than his own.
’Unfortunately, my family doesn’t have my powers. Otherwise, I could risk everything.’ His eyes narrowed sharply.
He himself feared no enemy. But there was nothing scarier than an eternity without his beloved women!
And they still had their vulnerabilities, and he wasn’t arrogant enough to tell the heavens that no one could ever get to them.
If Lydis, for example, acted against him, his women would be temporarily without his constant vigilance, vulnerable to other high-level 10th stage beings!
The five women understood this and Vicente’s group could understand the same from Devil Ritter’s words.
