Chapter 579 328: Crystal Core of the Marshal Bug

Knowing that the calamity of the Ancient Insects would not erupt anytime soon, Sunan did not pay too much attention to it.

He assigned the affairs of the Star Alliance to Lize, continuing to wholeheartedly immerse himself in the comprehension of laws, only occasionally needing to leave the realm of truth to busy himself with the upgrades and renovation of the Floating City.

Time flies by, years pass.

While Sunan was immersed in cultivation, the scale of the Ancient Insect invasion gradually expanded.

In the year 4988 of the Starlight Calendar, a swarm of Ancient Insects numbering over five million appeared in the Celestial Sea Plane Community. Within a mere half month, more than three planes had already been conquered by the Ancient Insects, and over a dozen planes were simultaneously under invasion.

The Deep Blue Alliance promptly deployed Floating Cities to eradicate the invading Ancient Insects.

In the year 5020 of the Starlight Calendar, swarms of Ancient Insects numbering in the tens of millions launched a massive invasion on the Dark Throne, at one point attacking the main plane, the Moonlight Plane, before eventually being repelled by the Dark Throne.

Over the following decade, other Wizard Influences, the Divine Spirit populated Multiverse Plane Community, and even the Dragon Realm Plane Community where Giant Dragons gathered, were successively invaded by Ancient Insects.

Although these forces immediately dispatched armies to eradicate the insects, they could not drive back the swarms. More and more Ancient Insects continued to appear from unknown locations, and the scale of the war not only failed to be curtailed but showed signs of expanding.

The entire multiverse gradually realized the terrifying strength and power of the Ancient Insects, beginning to take this bizarre race seriously.

Year 5520 of the Starlight Calendar.

Sunan ended his cultivation and returned to the Starlight Continent from the realm of truth.

After over seven hundred years, the divine essence of the King of Fire Manes was finally exhausted by him, while his Gravity Law had grown to an energy level of over 300.

The current Sunan, with his dual-law domain and the core of law, even felt confident in battling a Level 6 Wizard.

Upon returning to the Starlight Floating City and entering the Central Crystal Tower, Lize came to find him.

Upon meeting, Sunan immediately sensed the more evident law aura emanating from Lize compared to before.

He raised an eyebrow and smiled, saying, "It seems it won't be long before our Star Alliance has another True Spirit Wizard."

"Thanks to your Light Awakening Potion," Lize smiled with pursed lips.

Benefiting from an ample supply of Light Awakening Potions, her comprehension of the Star Law was proceeding very smoothly, far surpassing ordinary Level 3 Wizards.

At this rate, she could be promoted to a True Spirit Wizard within a thousand years.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, the two quickly got to the main topic.

"How's the situation with the Ancient Insects recently?"

"Just as you said, the scale of the war has been continuously expanding," Lize said with a solemn expression. "The number of Ancient Insects is beyond imagination. According to statistics, they are currently attacking over a thousand planes simultaneously, and they've occupied almost the same number of planes, almost all inhabited by intelligent races."

"It's too early to be surprised now." Sunan's eyes slightly flickered.

Only he knew that the current situation was not yet the peak intensity of the war.

The Ancient Insect race's invasion of the multiverse was still in the phase of casting a wide net. It was only in the mid to late stages of the war that they would gradually shift their main attack targets to the planes with the greatest resistance.

In other words, towards the famous forces within the multiverse.

By then, the war would enter a state of intense fierceness.

"This is the latest battle report," Lize handed over a document.

Sunan took it and studied it carefully.

The battle report detailed the losses suffered by various forces since the appearance of the Ancient Insects.

From the data, it was clear that Divine Spirits and Wizards were undoubtedly the two groups suffering the greatest losses.

Which was only natural, given that the territories of Divine Spirits and Wizards were the most extensive in the multiverse.

Even Giant Dragons couldn't compare.

Since the Divine Spirits were the opposing camp, the intelligence collected was relatively rudimentary and not detailed.

Sunan focused on reviewing the situation of the Wizard Realm.

Overall, almost no Wizard Influence was able to remain unscathed in this war; more or less, all had suffered invasions by Ancient Insects.

Up to now, seven third-rate Wizard Influences and one second-rate Wizard Influence have been wiped out by the Ancient Insect invasions.

The situation for most Wizard Influences could not be considered good.

Even large Wizard Influences were severely troubled by the Ancient Insects.

Among them, the Dark Throne was particularly unfortunate.

In the entire multiverse, it suffered from the highest invasion intensity.

In just five hundred years, nearly one-fifth of its territory had been conquered by the Ancient Insects. Even though the three throne Wizards, who had been in seclusion for many years and hadn't shown themselves for a long time, tried to intervene, they could only slightly curtail the disadvantages, unable to reverse the situation fundamentally.

It was foreseeable that when the Ancient Insects gradually focused their attack targets and shifted their main armies over, the situation for the Dark Throne would become even worse.

Sunan expressed his anticipation for this.

"No wonder all these years the Dark Throne hasn't taken any action in response to Jude and others' deaths; apparently, they're too occupied to retaliate."

Sunan was somewhat gleeful.

In comparison, the situation for the Star Alliance could be considered the best.

Because of Sunan's early warning, the Star Alliance had already fortified defenses and made ample preparations, resulting in minimal losses in this war.

Currently, the situation was still within control.

After Sunan finished analyzing the report, Lize continued, "The subordinates have captured some peculiar Ancient Insects. I think you might recognize them."

"Peculiar Ancient Insects?"

Sunan showed interest and went with Lize to the Demon-Banning Prison.

In the confinement room inscribed with dense runes, over a dozen ferocious Insect Beasts were imprisoned.

These Insect Beasts were not large, only three to four meters tall, which was considered medium-sized among the Ancient Insect race. Their appearance was not unusual, except for the spike-like crystal cluster on their heads, which was somewhat striking.
