Chapter 573 325: King of the Firemane

  • Next Chapter

After spending more than ten days thoroughly searching the buffer zone near Wizard Town without any results, Sunan and the three others began to delve deeper in the direction of the Divine Spirit occupied territory.

Just like Wizard Town, the Divine Spirits also built an outpost in the Realm of Truth.

Unlike the pragmatic Wizards, most Divine Spirits emphasize grandeur and extravagance, not hesitating to use Divine Power to construct a magnificent castle named the Pantheon.

Upon entering the buffer zone near the Pantheon, Sunan and his team became increasingly cautious.

The likelihood of encountering Divine Spirits in this area would undoubtedly increase significantly.

If it was just that, it wouldn't matter much; without enough benefits, an encounter would typically end with just a glance, and conflict was unlikely to occur.

However, if they found a Rule Node here, they would have to consider the risk of more Divine Spirits vying for it.

"The core of Divine Spirits' power is their divine office, which greatly influences their temperament and style of action."

"Divine Spirits related to slaughter tend to be extremely bloodthirsty and brutal."

"Those related to fire often have a violent temperament."

On the road of exploration, Sunan chatted with the other three about matters related to Divine Spirits.

Even though he had memories from his past life, Sunan's understanding of Divine Spirits didn't surpass that of Maisy, Morick, and Ortis, who had fought them for years. This was a great opportunity to gather intelligence.

After all, it's highly likely he will face Divine Spirits in battles in the future.

Time flew by.

In a flash, Sunan had been deep within the buffer zone near the Pantheon for more than three months, yet unfortunately, they hadn't found anything.

Although slightly disappointed, they didn't dwell on it, for they had experienced periods of one or two hundred years without any gains before.

"Let's stop the search here this time," Maisy said. "Let's go back for a rest."

The other three naturally didn't object.

In these days, they vaguely sensed that someone seemed to be targeting them, possibly one or more Divine Spirits.

It's not surprising, given they wandered in an area where the enemy's forces were dominant for so long; attentive Divine Spirits would notice for sure.

Staying here further might attract some Divine Spirits eager to hunt Wizards.

After reaching consensus, the group headed decisively toward Wizard Town.

However, while passing through the central buffer zone, Sunan suddenly had a change in expression and halted his movement.

Seeing his action, Maisy, Morick, and Ortis immediately stopped and sized up their surroundings vigilantly.

Having explored together for years, they experienced Sunan's keen perception; many times, Sunan forewarned them of nearby Divine Spirits, allowing them to prepare in advance.

"Did you discover something?" Maisy asked in a low voice.

"Northwest direction, about forty to fifty kilometers away, there's a strong Rule wave," Sunan's eyes lit up slightly. "It might be a Rule Node!"

Upon hearing this, Maisy, Morick, and Ortis's eyes also lit up instantly.

Without doubting Sunan's words, the group immediately headed northwest, tearing through space and using spatial travel directly.

In just three or four breaths, the four reached over forty kilometers away.

At the moment of appearing in the sky, they saw the Rule Node situated amidst jagged rocks.

Unlike previous Rule Nodes, the current one was larger.

If they didn't look at its dazzling starlit interior, judging merely by its outline, it looked entirely like a massive tree of forty to sixty meters high.

"This isn't a temporary Rule Node," Maisy took a deep breath, her eyes showing strong excitement. "This is a Permanent Rule Node!"

The faces of Morick and Ortis also showed excitement.

"With this strength of Rule wave... indeed, it's a Permanent Rule Node!"

"It's actually a Permanent Rule Node!"

Sunan was also taken aback.

Unlike the temporary Rule Nodes that randomly generate in the Realm of Truth every so often, Permanent Rule Nodes appear at an absurdly low rate.

Since the Realm of Truth was discovered for a long time, only three Permanent Rule Nodes had emerged.

The last appearance of a Permanent Rule Node was over twenty thousand years ago.

Unexpectedly, they discovered a Permanent Rule Node this time.

After the surprise, Sunan and the others quickly calmed down, their expressions turning serious.

Finding a Permanent Rule Node was undoubtedly a good thing, but it also carried immense risk.

Clearly, once the news of a Permanent Rule Node gets out, it would certainly attract countless True Spirit Wizards and Divine Spirits' coveting.

After all, the interests behind it are astonishing.

"We must immediately send the message back and request support," Maisy was the first to break the silence, looking at the other three.

"This Permanent Rule Node is discovered by the four of us; let's share it among our four forces. We can discuss the specific allocation ratio after we secure the Rule Node, okay?"

Morick and Ortis exchanged a glance and agreed without hesitation.

They knew well that neither Abyssal Dawn nor Sky Crow could possibly hold this Permanent Rule Node alone; they must join forces with Wisdom Code and the Star Alliance.

Although this means that Wisdom Code and the Star Alliance will inevitably gain the lion's share, it's better than getting nothing at all.

Even obtaining just a place for training on a Permanent Rule Node is an exceptionally delightful reward for them.

Sunan's eyes flickered, and he agreed too.
