Chapter 389: Chapter 240: Gaze

"Many thanks, Brother Qin."

Su Xing cupped his fists in thanks. His gratitude was by no means feigned. Although what Qin Mo had said was simple, Su Xing had indeed strayed down the wrong path due to the sudden acquisition of immense power. With Qin Mo’s simple guidance, he immediately came to an understanding.

’Never mind what this "source quality" stuff is.’ To put it bluntly, it was just one component of his power, not the entirety of an Extraordinary Being. Su Xing immediately realized the importance of this suppression bracelet.

"So?"

"Do you still want this bracelet?"

"If you still dislike it, you can come to my place and pick something else. However, the other items are rather unremarkable compared to this one."

Watching Su Xing’s expression shift from confusion to gratitude, Qin Mo said with a smile playing on his lips.

"Then I’ll accept it."

Su Xing said with a grateful expression. Almost as soon as the words left his mouth, the bracelet re-bound itself to him. A tremendous weight, as if pressing down from the heavens, descended upon him.

It was much easier for Su Xing this time compared to the first. When he took a step forward, however, the footprint he left on the ground was exceptionally deep. But after a few more steps, the imprints grew shallower. Clearly, Su Xing was already adapting to the weight.

But it was obvious his power was being suppressed. If he didn’t remove the suppression bracelet, it would be difficult for him to unleash his true strength. However, this was also a form of training, so Su Xing didn’t mind.

"Good!"

"None of the younger generation in my Dragon Gate are your match."

"I, Qin Mo, have lived for many long years, and I’ve never met a young man so to my liking. If you have the chance in the future, you must come find this old man for a chat."

"You can count on it!" Su Xing said, cupping his fist.

When you were out in the world, it was always far better to have one more friend than one more enemy. Therefore, Su Xing was extremely grateful for the goodwill Qin Mo had shown him.

’If I have the chance in the future, I’ll definitely repay his kindness,’ Su Xing thought. ’As for now, I’m not even stronger than him, so there’s nothing I can do to help him yet.’

"Alright, off you go. I have to get back to my own business," Qin Mo said. He walked a few steps to the main gate, then turned his head, gave Su Xing a wave, and finally disappeared through it.

’Time to check out the Scripture Pavilion.’

Su Xing thought to himself. Although Dragon Gate didn’t seem to have techniques on the level of "Immortal-Martial Unity" that defined a truly powerful sect, it was still a large sect of considerable size. He might gain something by taking a look.

With this in mind, Su Xing turned and left the Treasure Pavilion. However, he was ultimately unfamiliar with Dragon Gate. He wandered around in circles for a while before finally finding a Dragon Gate Disciple to lead him to the Scripture Pavilion.

Compared to the Treasure Pavilion, the Scripture Pavilion could only be described as plain. But that made sense; the Dragon Gate’s Treasure Pavilion was actually the secluded residence of a senior, so its magnificence was not surprising. This Scripture Pavilion, however, was just an ordinary little building.

Su Xing glanced at the Scripture Pavilion "key" that Yi Changhao had given him. It wasn’t so much a key as an item to prove his identity, presumably for the Tower Guardian to inspect.

Thinking this, Su Xing stepped directly into the Scripture Pavilion. ’I have to say, Dragon Gate’s Scripture Pavilion isn’t much different from the Cyan Cloud Sect’s,’ he mused. ’At least from the inside, I can’t see any difference at all.’

At the entrance was a desk that resembled a counter. Behind it stood an old man with a full head of white hair. His physical body was frail and his realm unstable; it was clear his lifespan was nearing its end. Upon seeing this old man, Su Xing roughly understood the logic behind the appointment of the Scripture Pavilion’s Tower Guardian.

It was most likely a place for the elders of Dragon Gate to live out their final years. So, Su Xing didn’t say much. He simply presented the item he had received from Yi Changhao for the man to see, intending to head inside.

"Hm? You’re Su Xing?"

But the old man looked at Su Xing with some surprise and spoke in astonishment. He was clearly shocked by Su Xing’s presence. Su Xing glanced back at him and asked:

"Is something wrong?"

"It’s nothing. I just never imagined that the famous Su Xing would be so young," he remarked with a sigh.

After revealing his strength, Su Xing had heard such compliments far too many times. So, he merely exchanged a few pleasantries before ignoring the Tower Guardian and heading straight inside.

The Tower Guardian, for his part, took no issue with Su Xing’s behavior. After all, Su Xing was not a member of Dragon Gate, and the two of them had no prior acquaintance or relationship. Of course, the most important reason was that Su Xing was truly strong.

In the face of the powerful, anyone would find themselves possessing a patience beyond their own imagination. This was a privilege unique to the powerful.

Inside the Scripture Pavilion, Su Xing started on the first floor, flipping through Dragon Gate’s martial arts manuals one by one. Most members of Dragon Gate were fist practitioners, and their training methods and styles were completely different from his. Yet, for every manual, the System showed a corresponding fusion prompt.

This came as a surprise to Su Xing. It wasn’t that he hadn’t fused with other secret manuals before, but success usually required similar styles or common points between them. This time, however, it seemed as if any cultivation method for a Martial Artist could be fused into his own.

’Perhaps... it’s because my own Martial Dao has now surpassed that of the creators of these manuals.’
