Chapter 940: As You Wish, My Queen

Yan Xue didn’t know at all that Wen Duoduo and Lu Jinyan were already living together.

She suggested it enthusiastically and hospitably, without thinking of the consequences.

Lu Jinyan’s face stiffened upon hearing this, just as he was about to step in and stop Yan Xue’s decision, Ning Wan beat him to it.

She nodded with a smile and said, "Since Auntie has spoken, I can’t refuse, so I’ll stay at Jinyan’s apartment for a few days."

As she spoke, she turned to look at Lu Jinyan, smiling innocently.

Lu Jinyan squinted his charming eyes, his lips curled into a semblance of a smile but he clenched his teeth as he said, "No problem!"

After dinner, Yan Xue personally escorted Lu Jinyan and Ning Wan to the doorstep.

She repeatedly reminded him to be careful when driving and ensure Ning Wan reaches the apartment safely.

Lu Jinyan responded and went to get the car.

From the back, his figure seemed cold and rigid, which Ning Wan noticed but chose not to comment on.

Song Yinyin stood on the steps, clearly witnessing everything until Ning Wan got into Lu Jinyan’s Maserati.

Only then did she turn to Lu Jihan and say, "Honey, I’m sensing something strange here."

"You’re not mistaken."

Lu Jihan smiled with the corner of his eyes, his large hand on her lower back, as if gathering Song Yinyin half into his arms.

Then he softly analyzed, "Ning Wan obviously has feelings for Jinyan. My sister-in-law is also unaware, hasn’t noticed Ning Wan’s affection for Jinyan, and foolishly suggested that she stay at Jinyan’s apartment. I think this is a good intention gone bad."

"Should I give my sister-in-law a heads-up?" Song Yinyin suggested.

Song Yinyin thought about it, then nodded and said, "True enough."

She wrapped her arms around Lu Jihan’s solid, lean waist, resting her head in his neck.

Lu Jihan held her tightly in return, "Tired?"

"A bit."

"Then let’s go upstairs and rest, just as I asked Secretary Chi to buy a parenting book. Shall we go back and study it together?"

The mention of Chi Wen’s name made Song Yinyin slightly uncomfortable.

But she didn’t show it in front of Lu Jihan and nodded, saying:

She playfully poked Lu Jihan’s chest.

When the car reached an intersection and the green light turned to red, he stopped the car.

The next moment, he suddenly spoke to Ning Wan, "Wan, let me take you to a hotel. Didn’t you say you prefer living in a hotel?"

Ning Wan’s face instantly turned gloomy.

But quickly, she returned to her harmless smile.

She turned her head to Lu Jinyan, her face beaming with sweetness, "Jinyan, you’re trying to chase me away. Aren’t you afraid I’ll get mad?"

Lu Jinyan pursed his lips, remaining quiet.

After a pause, he added, "I just think, you staying at my place would be inconvenient. After all, it’s just you and me, a man and a woman, under the same roof..."

"Jinyan, your mother doesn’t know you and your girlfriend are living together, does she?" Ning Wan suddenly interrupted him, coldly questioning.
