Song Yinyin didn’t know how she managed to drive back to the Lu Family’s old mansion.

In her mind, the scene of her car crashing toward Chi Wen kept replaying.

To be honest, at that moment, she really had the impulse to charge straight at her.

But at the critical moment, she managed to brake in time.

If she had been even a second later, tomorrow’s news headlines would certainly be—

Mainland Group President’s wife, Mrs. Song, suspects her husband of cheating, catches him in the act, and in a moment of fury, kills the third party...

Just thinking about it is terrifying.

And somewhat laughable.

Knowing full well that it’s Chi Wen’s trick, why does she care so much?

If she really acted on impulse and made a mistake, who knows what the price would be.

Thinking this way, her heart raced uncontrollably, refusing to calm.

When she got out of the car, her legs had no strength to stand, and after taking two steps, her legs weakened, and she directly fell forward.

Thankfully, Lu Jihan saw her, rushed over, and caught her just in time.

"Yinyin, where did you go?"

She shook her head and responded casually, "I didn’t go anywhere, just went for a drive."

Her mind was elsewhere.

After settling her in his arms, Lu Jihan cradled her face with both hands and made her look at him, "Don’t lie! You don’t look okay at all? Come on, tell me what’s really going on."

She moved her lips, looked up at Lu Jihan, and forced a faint smile, saying, "I’m really fine."

"Then tell me, where did you go driving?" he asked with a furrowed brow.

"Just felt... suffocated, upset inside, um... so I went for a walk in the park over by the neighborhood..."

She pressed her lips together, telling a little lie.

She was straightforward, Lu Jihan wouldn’t deceive her, and she didn’t want to doubt him because of a woman like Chi Wen.

Maybe that’s exactly what Chi Wen wanted, she can’t fall for it!

Resolving firmly, she took a deep breath, pretending as if nothing was wrong.

Yet her little nose was red, a small expression she had only when she was aggrieved, clearly showing she had something on her mind.

But, since she didn’t want to speak, he didn’t force her.

Because he knew all too well, when she’s aggrieved, she’s as stubborn as a bull; ten people couldn’t pry open her mouth.

Lu Jihan sighed lightly, touched her cheek, and said, "As soon as I got home, the housekeeper said you’d run off by yourself in the middle of the night, really scared me. I’m just glad you’re okay, glad you’re okay."

As he spoke, he held her tightly, unwilling to let go.

"Don’t worry, I’m really fine now."

Song Yinyin forced a faint smile, her gaze falling on Lu Jihan.

She noticed his suit had red stains on it, and it carried a faint smell of red wine.

"What happened to you?"

"Oh, just accidentally spilled by someone at the cocktail party."

By whom, was it Chi Wen?

Song Yinyin suspected this but didn’t voice it.

She didn’t want Lu Jihan to think she was paranoid; he was back safe and sound.

"Go upstairs and change, I’ll wash it for you tomorrow." she said, moving to help him take off his clothes.

But Lu Jihan held her in his arms and said:

"You’re not the maid, you don’t need to do laundry. You’re like a national treasure in our family now, you must be well taken care of. Besides, I married you to spoil you, not to have you wash my clothes."
