What is it, is she trying to drive me away?

Song Yinyin held her temper and heard Chi Wen say:

"And after the reception, he’s very likely to rush back to the company to work overnight. We’ve already notified several departments that they’ll be working overnight tonight."

The implication was that Lu Jihan was very busy and wouldn’t have time to accompany Song Yinyin home.

Song Yinyin felt quite displeased.

She thought, whether my husband has time to go home with me or not, he’ll tell me himself. What does it have to do with you, an outsider?!

She raised her eyebrows slightly and said, "It’s fine, if he has to socialize, I can just go with him, it’s not like it’s the first time."

Chi Wen, however, laughed mockingly and said:

"Madam President, perhaps you didn’t understand what I meant. This event isn’t just any social occasion; it’s a very formal reception. Attendees are big figures in the business world, many of whom are Mr. Lu’s competitors. He must be 100% focused to handle it without any slip-ups."

Pausing, Chi Wen’s cold gaze fell on Song Yinyin’s abdomen, and she hinted:

"At that time, Mr. Lu may not have the time to look after you. Besides, people drink at receptions, and you’re pregnant, it’s inconvenient for your body, and you can’t drink. Without someone to block drinks for Mr. Lu, his body might not take it, and how can he stay unfocused and handle those shrewd business competitors?"

"..." Song Yinyin pursed her thin lips, not responding.

A subtle tension was concealed within the air.

However, she couldn’t deny—

If Lu Jihan truly needed to attend a very formal reception, her presence would indeed affect his performance on the scene.

Yet, to simply turn around and go home, she felt very unwilling.

It was at that moment that the door to the president’s office was opened, and Lu Jihan and several other company executives emerged.

Seeing Lu Jihan’s serious expression, seemingly encountering a tricky problem, Song Yinyin involuntarily became tense.

She didn’t walk over, merely watching from afar as he escorted those people to the elevator.

She couldn’t help but worry, with Shen Kang not by his side, would he be busier and more exhausted than before?

After seeing those people off, Lu Jihan turned around and noticed Song Yinyin standing at the entrance of the VIP lounge, looking surprised.

"Yinyin, why are you here?"

This question stunned Song Yinyin.

Just now, didn’t Chi Wen take the documents I brought into the president’s office? Since the documents were delivered, Lu Jihan actually didn’t know she was here?

Either Chi Wen didn’t give the documents to Lu Jihan, or she didn’t tell him that she had come to the company.

Song Yinyin couldn’t help but furrow her brow, tilting her head to look at Chi Wen beside her.

Chi Wen, however, showed no signs of panic, calmly saying, "That’s the situation, Mr. Lu. The president’s wife brought over a document just now. I looked at it and saw it wasn’t urgently needed for this meeting, so I didn’t interrupt your talk with the other executives. This is it—"

As she spoke, she handed over the document.

Lu Jihan took it, glanced at it, and nodded slightly, saying, "It’s true, it’s not needed for the meeting. This is a project draft Shen Kang left for me earlier; I plan to look at it when I have time."

So, it really wasn’t an extremely important document.

After all, Lu Jihan had always been meticulous and rigorous in his work, not only demanding strictness from the employees of the company but also from himself.

With such diligence, how could he have left important documents at home?
