Chapter 1043: Yet Another Test

His voice carried a hint of gravity: "Mr. Lu, the company has encountered a slight problem."

"What is it?"

Shen Kang explained the whole situation.

Upon hearing this, Lu Jihan felt a heaviness in his heart, and his pair of clear amber eyes instantly darkened.

He hadn’t expected the test to come so quickly.

Seeing the unusual expression on his face, Song Yinyin’s heart tightened as well.

After Lu Jihan hung up the phone, she went over, worriedly holding his large hand.

"Jinhan, is something wrong?"

"Yes."

He nodded slightly: "There’s a slight problem, I need to return to the company. Let’s go, I’ll take you home first."

She didn’t let go of his large hand, and Lu Jihan stopped, turning back to cradle her face, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Don’t worry, I’ll handle it soon."

Having been by Lu Jihan’s side for a long time, encountering big and small matters almost every day, Song Yinyin had also developed a heart as strong as steel.

"Then be careful."

Lu Jihan took Song Yinyin back to the old house before driving to the Mainland Building, where Shen Kang was waiting for him in the office.

"Mr. Lu, a long-term building material supplier of our group did not follow the contract for complete preprocessing in the latest batch of materials. After the problem arose, we replaced this part of the materials. However, part of the materials had already been delivered to a project in Hong Kong and cannot be immediately recalled."

"The project in Hong Kong is very important because it’s an art museum co-invested with the government. These materials have already been used in the construction, and recalling them would inevitably affect the progress of the project. Additionally..."

Lu Jihan slightly furrowed his brows, aware of the stakes involved.

"If we don’t recall them, should the entire building’s load-bearing capacity become unbalanced, the adverse effects would be considerable."

"... Precisely."

Shen Kang’s expression was also grave.

Lu Jihan raised his hands, placing them on the desk, his fingers gently and rhythmically interlocking.

"This batch of materials was indeed newly switched, but the material supplier is an old friend of mine. I never expected him to make such a basic mistake."

Lu Jihan slightly lowered his head, brows knit tightly.

Shen Kang immediately said, "No, I can’t absolve myself of responsibility on this matter; it’s my failure to..."

Before he could finish, Lu Jihan raised a hand slightly, interrupting him: "Here’s what we’ll do, Shen Kang, immediately form an emergency task force, ensure that batch of materials is fully recalled. Also, prepare a comprehensive compensation plan."

"Understood!"

Taking a deep breath, Lu Jihan stood up, hands in his pockets: "If this matter comes to the media’s attention, it will certainly have a very adverse impact. Shen Kang, immediately organize crisis management."

"Understood!"

Lu Jihan nodded slightly, "I will have all parts of the company cooperate with your work, trying to minimize the impact of this matter."

Half an hour later, Shen Kang, leading a public relations team, convened a small discussion meeting on the matter in the conference room.

Shen Kang gave a brief explanation of the incident.

"That’s basically the situation; do you have any questions?"

"Assistant Shen, wasn’t the troublesome material supplier personally chosen by Mr. Lu? If the media asks, how should we respond?"

Shen Kang frowned, said, "Regarding the supplier question, you don’t have to answer at all. If any media inquire, direct them to me, I will provide a tactful explanation."

The attendees from the PR department all nodded.
