Chapter 1040: Your Parents’ Death Is Connected to the Lu Family!

The uncle wants the Yan Group to surpass Mainland Group and become the industry leader, fulfilling the father’s lifelong wish, which he can understand.

Until now, he has not gone against his uncle’s will; whatever the uncle asks him to do, he does.

But this time, the uncle used despicable and lowly means to deal with Mainland Group, and he opposed it strongly.

Yan Zhengxiong shook his head, saying, "I’m fine, I just didn’t expect Lu Jihan, that brat, to trap me!"

"Uncle, actually... I also oppose your idea this time. I had tried to stop you, but..."

Upon hearing this, Yan Zhengxiong’s expression changed instantly.

"Kejun, you are siding with Lu Jihan? Do you know that the Yan Family has fallen to this point all because Mainland Group blocked the way! And your parents’ deaths were all thanks to Lu Jihan’s father!"

He spoke angrily, words fiery.

Yan Kejun was stunned: "Uncle, what are you saying? My parents’ deaths were related to Lu Jihan’s father?"

"That’s right!"

Yan Zhengxiong tightened his jaw, looking out the car window, his gaze becoming dark and far-reaching, "Uncle owes you an apology; there are some things I’ve hidden from you all along."

"Are you talking about my parents’ deaths? They... weren’t they killed in a car accident?"

Yan Zhengxiong closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and said directly to Yan Kejun, "It was a car accident, indeed, but there are hidden truths."

"..."

Realizing the importance of what Yan Zhengxiong was about to say, Yan Kejun pressed his lips anxiously and said, "Uncle, quickly tell me, what are these hidden truths?"

"This matter traces back to twenty years ago."

Looking out the window, Yan Zhengxiong furrowed his brows and slowly spoke:

"Back then, Yan Group and Mainland Group were neck and neck, equally matched. Your father was personally chosen by your grandfather as the successor, the hope of the entire Yan Group. Yet, Lu Jihan’s father constantly clashed with him. They quarreled publicly more than once.

One night, your parents were invited to an antique auction. Your father and Lu’s father argued over an antiquity. Your father was later set up by Lu Jihan’s father, suffering great losses. Your father sought him out for a confrontation and they fought outside the venue.

Later, when your parents drove away from the auction, they were surrounded by a gang of street racers on the highway. To escape them, your father drove onto a country road, but unfortunately, his car malfunctioned and went straight off a cliff..."

Recalling past events, Yan Zhengxiong’s expression was sorrowful.

"You didn’t see your parents’ tragic state then. I... I can never forget it..."

Emotionally overwhelmed, Yan Zhengxiong choked up several times, unable to speak.

He took several deep breaths, trying hard to contain his anger, then slowly said, "I suspect that group of street racers came from unknown origins and also wonder why your father’s car suddenly had brake failure?"

"You suspect it’s related to Lu Jihan’s father?"

"Yes!"

Yan Zhengxiong’s expression became intense.

"In fact, I had someone investigate that group of street racers, and unexpectedly, the leader died in a car accident shortly after your parents passed away!"

"..."

Hearing this, Yan Kejun’s eyes widened in shock.

"I also had people carefully investigate your father’s car and found out it was indeed tampered with!"

Upon hearing this, Yan Kejun’s expression darkened.

So it seems, my parents’ deaths truly were related to Lu Jihan’s father?!
