Seeing how out of breath Song Yinyin was getting, Lu Jihan couldn’t help but chuckle. "You don’t need to worry about these things. All you have to do is relax and focus on taking care of the baby."

Song Yinyin nodded, then suddenly thought of something. "Oh right, after I left your office yesterday I went to the Grand Theatre, and I discovered something really bizarre."

"What is it?"

He wrapped one arm around Song Yinyin’s slim waist, and with the other hand gently stroked her cheek, his fingertips looping through her hair, idly drawing circles.

Song Yinyin pressed her lips together and told Lu Jihan about seeing Chi Wen playing the piano in the old practice room earlier that day.

"I don’t even know why, but the moment I saw Chi Wen playing, I couldn’t help thinking of Angie. Am I being paranoid? I keep feeling that the way Chi Wen plays...the technique is exactly the same as Angie’s..."

She frowned and looked up, grabbing Lu Jihan’s arm with both hands as she asked, "Hubby, do you think there can really be two people in this world whose piano technique is exactly the same?"

"That...is hard to say."

Lu Jihan’s amber eyes narrowed slightly. "But I really didn’t expect Chi Wen to know how to play the piano, too."

Looks like she still has a lot of secrets.

"Yeah, judging by her technique, she’s definitely not just some casual hobbyist. It’s like...she’s a trained pianist."

Lu Jihan inclined his head slightly, and a sharp, icy glint flashed under those amber eyes.

A few seconds later, he smoothed his expression.

He lowered his head to cup Song Yinyin’s face and said, "Alright, don’t overthink it. I’ll handle it."

With that promise, the knot in Song Yinyin’s chest loosened a lot.

Lu Jihan took the chance to pull her fully into his arms. Song Yinyin nestled into him greedily, her cheek pressed to his chest, listening to his strong, powerful heartbeat.

"Oh, right, my sister‑in‑law booked my prenatal checkup for tomorrow."

"I’ll go with you."

"No need." Song Yinyin shook her head. "You’ve been working overtime these days, you must be exhausted. I can go by myself."

But Lu Jihan insisted. "No. I said that for this pregnancy I’m going to be with you the whole way. I’m not missing a single checkup."

Since he was so adamant, Song Yinyin stopped arguing, nodded, and agreed happily.

That night, Song Yinyin slept incredibly well.

In the morning, half asleep, she turned over and opened her eyes, only to find that at some point Lu Jihan had already woken up and was lying on his side, propped up on one arm, watching her sleep.

"Why are you up so early?"

She’d just woken up, so her voice was hoarse.

Lu Jihan’s lips curved; instead of answering, he leaned in and kissed her soft eyelids. Song Yinyin brushed him away without much thought, eyes still closed as she burrowed into his arms.

Lu Jihan laughed out loud and chased her into the covers to kiss her.

Song Yinyin turned her back to him and ignored him, so he started kissing from her cheek, to her shoulder, to her back, slowly moving lower, his kisses growing hotter and hotter.

Ever since Yinyin got pregnant, Lu Jihan hadn’t gone all the way with her. These past two months he hadn’t even been able to get close to her body, and his adrenaline was shooting out of control.

Song Yinyin let out a soft whimper and bit her lip. Lu Jihan slipped his fingers into her mouth, letting them stand in for those two soft lips he loved so much.

His movements were restrained and slow.

The temperature in the room kept climbing.

After kissing his way over Song Yinyin’s face, Lu Jihan finally returned to her lips, kissing her in a lingering, delicate way, cautious yet overbearing, completely enclosing her in his arms.
