The enrollment for Ning Chenyang’s year was quite large, and the kids were split into two classes. The first class was formed by kids from the compound, while the second was for those from regular families.

Ning Chenyang was introduced to the class by the teacher.

Ning Chenyang looked at Wang Xiaohu with disdain and said, "You’re just jealous, aren’t you? You didn’t get the chance to go to the army!"

"What glory, what pride? I’ve heard about it, didn’t you get caught by your dad stealing parts from a gun? This past month you’ve really had to train well, huh?" Wang Xiaohu didn’t expose Ning Chenyang publicly but whispered it in Ning Chenyang’s ear.

"Tch. And you? That gun I told you to take, you didn’t take it either, did you?" Ning Chenyang asked.

"Don’t mention it!" Wang Xiaohu had more secrets to share with Ning Chenyang, so he shooed away the classmates around them and whispered, "You almost got me killed! This time, I was really loyal, following your command, I went to take the gun. It was all good at first, I brought the gun home and hid it. Then, the library found that something was missing and reported it to the guards at the compound. During the search, later my dad found it out, and my butt was almost whipped to shreds with a belt! Didn’t get out of bed for three days!"

"Ahahaha!" Images of Wang Xiaohu looking pitiful after being beaten popped into Ning Chenyang’s head, bringing him to tears with laughter. "Are you stupid? Hiding it at home! Ah, your brain is truly impressive! I’ve never seen anyone as dumb as you!"

"Go away! You have no sympathy at all. I’ve made up my mind, I’m not doing such stupid things anymore. What big hero stuff? Catching traffickers? I’m out!" Wang Xiaohu waved his hand, tossing aside all his earlier bold statements in front of He Yue.

"You don’t want to play with He Yue anymore?" Ning Chenyang glanced at him.

"He Yue only comes a few times a year! Besides, she doesn’t like me at all! But Chenyang, I’ve made some new friends, and if you’d like, I can introduce them to you." Wang Xiaohu said.

"Sure! Having more friends to play with is interesting." Ning Chenyang was open to the idea. He could be friends with Wang Xiaohu, so why not anyone else?

"Let me tell you, me, Bean Sprout, and Sheng Xiaoguang have already arranged it. Tonight we’re going to a new friend’s house to play!" Wang Xiaohu said to him mysteriously, "There’s some good stuff! I guarantee you’ll be hooked once you see it!"

"What good stuff?" Wang Xiaohu’s mysterious demeanor instantly piqued Ning Chenyang’s curiosity. He really wanted to know what ’good stuff’ Wang Xiaohu was talking about and how good it was!
