Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 187: It’s a Complete Mess, So I Took Advantage of the Chaos to Drink Some...
"All right, you three should go now and head back to your safe place, quickly." The baby-faced attendant was actually quite afraid of them, if she was honest, but she still stepped forward bravely to drag Nalan away.
Nalan was absolutely furious with the baby-faced attendant. She had never once imagined that Wenxi would betray them like this.
Just as she was about to keep cursing at full volume, the baby-faced attendant quickly stuffed something into her mouth.
"All right, that’s enough, stop babbling already. You talk far too much."
"Why don’t we just kill her?" The baby-faced attendant turned to Song Zhenzhen, hoping she would dispose of the woman.
Song Zhenzhen’s lips twitched, and without any hesitation at all, she drove a wooden stick straight into Nalan’s head.
Nalan fell silent at last, and did not make another sound after that.
The baby-faced attendant sighed heavily. Nalan’s body couldn’t be exposed just yet; she would have to drag it away and hide it somewhere first.
Lin Yun glanced back, took out the little red flower notebook that Ghost Vine had snatched earlier, and said, "Come on, everyone, let’s stick them on!"
She first stuck a little red flower onto her own card, which meant that her task at the puppet theater was now complete.
"Now, here’s the real question, Song Zhenzhen. Why are you here all alone in the first place? Where are Xiong Qi and George?" Song Xizheng asked while sticking little red flowers onto her card for her.
Lin Yun added, "Right, and on top of that, you even managed to get captured by Nalan."
Song Zhenzhen took the little red flower notebook back and sighed in sheer exasperation. "Unfortunately, we didn’t team up today. They were disgusted by my steamed buns and were afraid I’d attack them with steamed buns, so they ran away."
"I came to the puppet theater by myself to watch a show, but halfway through, Nalan appeared right behind me without my noticing at all, and that’s how you ended up seeing what you just saw."
Thinking back on it, Song Zhenzhen was left completely speechless with emotion.
How could she have forgotten that anyone could come into this puppet theater?
That damned, elusive way of appearing out of nowhere!
After sticking the little red flower onto her arm, Lin Yun glanced at the baby-faced attendant, who was still struggling to drag Nalan’s body away. "Hide it well, and make sure you leave as soon as you can manage it."
The baby-faced attendant paused for a moment, looked up at Lin Yun, and pressed her lips together tightly. "I understand what you mean."
"Goodbye, and good luck to you."
Lin Yun sighed, told the two little ones to shrink back down to their usual size, tucked them into her backpack, and left the theater together with the other two.
After leaving the theater, the three of them noticed that the puppets that had been hanging on the walls or placed here and there were now standing on the ground, staring at them like people.
There weren’t many puppets left in the puppet theater by now. Because of the doll-faced puppet’s orders, they didn’t dare to move around freely, and could only stand there silently and watch.
"Goodness, amusement parks really are sneaky things. So many puppets just placed randomly around the lobby like that. Who knows when one of them might jump down and give you a nasty surprise?"
Song Xizheng was speechless at the sight of these puppets, but it didn’t stop him from hurrying away as fast as his legs could carry him.
After leaving the puppet theater, just as the baby-faced attendant had said, the outside was in complete chaos.
Wearing red, green, and black vests, the staff moved among the tourists like an entire army launching a full-scale attack.
The tourists were in a frenzy as well, with menacing expressions, attacking the tricolor vests from time to time.
The tricolor vests were quite annoyed, but after dealing with these tourists for so long, they naturally knew a few ways to handle them, and could usually get away in no time at all.
But how could tourists, their eyes gleaming with anticipation, easily let the tricolor vests go? Naturally, they chased after them and began to devour them!
They hadn’t tasted fresh flesh and blood in so very long, and now that they’d been stimulated by the scent of it, they couldn’t control themselves at all!
"Hiss..."
The three quickly retreated back into the puppet theater. Fortunately, they hadn’t rushed out rashly, so no one outside had noticed anything happening in there.
"It’s a complete mess outside. Why don’t we just take advantage of the chaos and drink some while it’s hot?"
Lin Yun scratched her head in dismay. If she rushed out there right now, wouldn’t she just end up completely surrounded by the crowd?
Song Zhenzhen was dumbfounded as well. She had known it was chaotic outside, but she hadn’t known it was this chaotic!
"They didn’t come into the puppet theater because they knew there were lots of puppets inside. Even if someone was in here, they could easily be taken down with the help of those puppets..."
"But how exactly are we supposed to get out of here?"
Song Xizheng cautiously leaned over and peered out from the doorway.
Wow, just look at that.
Tourists were devouring a red vest right out in the open!
A man in a black vest was brutally beating up a tourist nearby!
A little green vest screamed as it rushed to save a little red vest!
What a spectacular show!
Song Xizheng was completely dazzled by what he saw. It was far more exciting than anything he’d watched on the floats every night.
Song Xizheng’s behavior caught Lin Yun’s attention. She couldn’t resist the temptation and crouched beside the door with Song Xizheng to peek out at the commotion as well.
Song Zhenzhen: ?
Should she perhaps join in too?
Three seconds later, Song Zhenzhen had blended right in, crouching beside the other two as though she’d been there all along.
The puppets in the lobby, watching this bizarre scene unfold before them: ?
Finally, after painstakingly hiding Nalan’s body, the baby-faced attendant came out to check on the situation: ?
"You... haven’t left yet?"
It seemed her heartfelt emotions from just a moment ago had been completely wasted?
Lin Yun didn’t even bother turning her head, only waving a hand dismissively behind her. "There’s no other way. Look at the chaos outside! Going out there would just be suicide!"
"Yes, yes, right now, staying hidden is definitely the safest option!" Song Xizheng wholeheartedly agreed with Lin Yun.
Song Zhenzhen thought for a moment and then asked, "Has a situation like this ever happened here before?"
The baby-faced attendant paused for two full seconds, then said slowly, "No, never before..."
Wasn’t this something Linglan had stirred up herself? Nothing like it had ever happened here before.
But the baby-faced attendant didn’t quite catch on to what she meant; she scratched her head and simply joined the group of three.
Lin Yun shifted aside to make some room for her, then casually asked a probing question: "Speaking of which, those are your colleagues out there, right? And you’re here with us, watching the show all fresh-faced and pretty?"
The baby-faced attendant looked distinctly gloomy when this was mentioned, her expression clouding over.
She said quietly, "They’re not my colleagues."
"Ever since the amusement park changed, the people here have changed their mindset as well. They aren’t nearly as normal as they seem on the surface."
"Actually, they love torturing people most of all. Once someone makes a mistake and is locked in a dark room, they go and vent their cruelty on that person."
"They claim this is how they relieve the stress of working at the amusement park, but really it’s just a sign of mental illness."
"The people who were bullied by them could actually play with them after leaving the dark room, and even join in bullying the next person locked inside."
"I can’t understand it at all, and I never act like that when I’m around them."
The three people beside the baby-faced attendant all remembered what she’d said not long ago: a year ago she had almost died, and it was Linglan who saved her.
Perhaps... she herself had been locked in a dark room too, once upon a time?
The group let the subject drop without pressing any further and turned back to look out at the chaotic scene unfolding outside.
It wasn’t that the tourists and young staff didn’t want to come into the puppet theater, but quite a few puppets were still standing around in its lobby, plainly visible from the outside.
The visitors knew the puppet theater was full of puppets, with no humans inside at all, and therefore nothing edible.
They disliked it so much that they never went to the puppet theater, which was why all the tourists inside the puppet theater had actually been puppets in disguise.
