Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 110 — Never Mind
"I understand. Thank you." After figuring out what Lin Yun meant, Xu Chi thanked her sincerely once again.
These matters were supposed to be their responsibility, but they had too much to deal with at the base, and sometimes they were simply too busy to handle everything.
Problems constantly arose within the base, leaving them barely enough time to deal with the most urgent ones.
For now, however, their top priority was killing Wu Yatu, the greatest threat they faced.
Once Wu Yatu was dead, everything else would become much easier to handle.
Lin Yun and the others found an office to sit down and discuss the situation.
"Here’s the plan. If you keep heading south from the square, you’ll reach Jinhe Bridge. That’s where we’re planning to fight Wu Yatu. What do you think?"
"We’ll go there first and make the necessary preparations. If everything else fails... we’ll blow up the bridge."
The city on the other side of Jinhe Bridge, H City, had long since fallen and become a dead city. Blowing up the bridge would prevent the zombies from that side from crossing over.
The Jin River also had a strong current. Even if Wu Yatu survived the explosion, there was a good chance the river would carry her all the way to the sea. Once she was swept out to sea, she would most likely never return.
Lin Yun pursed her lips.
At first glance, the plan seemed reasonable. But what if Wu Yatu dragged them into the river with her when something went wrong?
Besides, although Wu Yatu was a zombie, she was no different from a human in terms of intelligence. What if she could swim?
After a long silence, Lin Yun finally said, "You guys can work out the details yourselves. I can’t say for certain whether this plan will work."
"Also, are you sure the Jin River has a strong current? Don’t let the current turn out to be weak enough for her to swim back."
Xu Chi was speechless.
That was a good question.
The Jin River had indeed been flowing rapidly before, but they hadn’t checked its condition after the rainstorm.
He immediately stood up.
"I understand. We’ll scout the area over the next couple of days. Once everything is ready, we’ll leave something here and arrange another meeting."
Lin Yun had no objections, so she agreed to come back in a few days.
Today was already the twenty-ninth day. She would be leaving this world in about ten days.
Hopefully, they could kill Wu Yatu within those ten days.
"Oh, right. There’s something else I almost forgot to ask."
Lin Yun suddenly remembered the daily quest and quickly stopped Xu Chi.
Xu Chi turned around and looked at her.
"What is it?"
"Your base is the Third Base, right? I’m not mistaken, am I?"
Xu Chi was slightly puzzled, but he nodded.
"Yes. What’s wrong?"
Lin Yun smiled.
"Nothing. I was just asking."
Xu Chi nodded and was about to leave with his team when Ji Mingfeng suddenly grabbed his arm.
Xu Chi looked at him suspiciously, only to see Ji Mingfeng winking at him repeatedly.
The corner of Xu Chi’s mouth twitched.
He was utterly speechless.
"Ahem... Miss Lin, could we exchange some of those explosives you used last time?"
Lin Yun looked at him in confusion.
They wanted her exploding grapes?
Shouldn’t their weapons be far more powerful than hers? Why would they want to trade for her grapes?
Ji Mingfeng quickly explained, "It’s like this. We don’t have many weapons, and every weapon we use is one less weapon in our stockpile. So we’d like to get some more to take back with us."
"Besides, we’ve never seen weapons like yours before. We’d like to bring some back and study them."
Lin Yun’s expression stiffened.
"...Let’s forget about it. You wouldn’t be able to figure them out anyway."
"Huh? Why not?" Ji Mingfeng scratched his head.
Lin Yun didn’t dare explain.
She quickly waved her hand.
"All right, all right. I can’t give them to you. I don’t have many left either. Every one I use means one less for me. That’s all. Bye-bye."
She turned around and left immediately, afraid Ji Mingfeng would continue asking questions.
What would happen if they actually managed to study the things she had brought from the previous world?
It would be better to leave before they became suspicious.
In a nearby corner, Lin Yun climbed onto her cat-shaped bicycle, and Sang Biao quickly carried her away.
When Lin Yun returned to the flower shop, she went upstairs to check on the square again.
She had traded the telescope back from Xu Chi in exchange for two compressed biscuits, which made it much easier to monitor what was happening in the square.
There weren’t many zombies in the square. Most were Level One or Level Two zombies, while the Level Three zombies were nowhere to be seen.
Because of her position, Lin Yun couldn’t see what was happening inside the mall, so she wasn’t sure whether the remaining six Level Three zombies were still there.
Lin Yun had no intention of provoking any more zombies today.
She would deal with them tomorrow.
As for Zhao Xiaoqing’s quest...
After thinking about it, she decided to forget about it for now. If she had the opportunity later, she could remind Xu Chi and the others.
There were too many people in the base, and she had never met Zhao Xiaoqing before. She didn’t even know what she looked like.
If she suddenly asked Xu Chi to help her find someone, it would definitely attract his attention.
Once she became too deeply involved with Xu Chi and his group, some things would become difficult to explain. If she continued down that path, the situation could easily get out of control.
After thinking it over, Lin Yun stopped worrying about it.
Although the six-square-meter shelter expansion reward was tempting, the situation that might follow was too unpredictable.
Forget it.
I wonder how things are going with Song Xizheng.
At that moment, Song Xizheng cautiously opened the shelter door and leaned out.
He stopped for a full ten seconds before quickly retreating inside.
In fact, he had heard some noise coming from the floor around noon.
He hadn’t seen the zombie’s exact location, but judging from the sounds he heard whenever he opened and closed the door, it seemed to be searching for him.
Wu Yatu had been lurking in the building all day and was already getting bored.
Waiting for prey wasn’t difficult.
But this prey was treating her like a monkey.
One moment, he threw things downstairs to make noise.
The next, he would poke his head out of his little hiding place just to see whether she was there.
Wu Yatu was becoming increasingly annoyed.
She had searched several floors but couldn’t find any trace of her prey.
The other party was incredibly cautious. Every time she sensed his presence and rushed over, he would immediately retreat inside.
The remaining scent was also far too faint. It disappeared almost as soon as she detected it, making it difficult for her to pinpoint his location.
When Song Xizheng opened the door again, Wu Yatu moved instantly.
But she was still one step too slow.
The door closed again.
This time, however, Wu Yatu knew which floor her prey was hiding on.
Her footsteps were incredibly light, almost completely silent.
She entered the corridor and carefully searched each room.
Song Xizheng heard the faint sounds outside and immediately leaned toward the peephole.
Sure enough, he saw Wu Yatu emerge from one of the rooms.
But he didn’t dare look again.
He was afraid she would notice him.
In fact, Song Xizheng wasn’t worried about Wu Yatu finding the shelter itself.
Wu Yatu could only enter the room he was originally bound to. She couldn’t enter the shelter, nor did she know where its entrance was.
So, for the time being, he was still safe.
Still, whenever he tried to lure Wu Yatu’s attention, he had to be extremely careful.
Otherwise, he might accidentally give her the chance to catch him.
