Survive in the Black Mist: My Sunflower Can Navigate
Chapter 399 - 398: Seed of All Things
Chapter 399: Chapter 398: Seed of All Things
The waiter’s reply was resolute, without a hint of hesitation.
Seraphina Sinclair wasn’t surprised by this answer.
It was a paranoid chef, absolutely meticulous about its working environment.
Making it work out in the open would probably be worse than death for it.
Seraphina Sinclair waved her hand, telling it to go about its business. Meanwhile, she struggled to keep a straight face as she secretly rubbed her sore bottom.
Although the pain from her wounds was far worse than the sting from the fall, Seraphina Sinclair firmly believed that no pain should be trivialized.
She silently comforted herself for a good while, watching the waiter pop in and out of the Lightgate, bringing various preservation materials to place around the Dragon Corpse.
’The waiter is working so hard, I can’t slack off either.’
Seraphina Sinclair got to her feet and slowly walked over to the red rune box.
This had been her initial objective, but after killing the Storm Dragon, it had ended up being the last piece of loot to be opened.
The waiter bustled about behind her, while the rune box before Seraphina Sinclair emitted an alluring glow.
She reached out, her fingertips touching the cool, intricate patterns on the box’s surface.
The red runes seemed to have a life of their own, pulsing faintly. Sensing her touch, their light grew a little brighter.
[Red Rune Box (B-level)]
The Description was identical to that of the Blue Rune Box.
’The Blue Rune Box contained a weapon schematic and a weapon. I wonder what I’ll get from this red one.’
"CLICK."
With a soft sound, the lid popped open, leaving a small gap.
Seraphina Sinclair held her breath and gently lifted the lid.
A warm current of air, mixed with a dazzling light, escaped from within the box.
Seraphina Sinclair instinctively shut her eyes, but she couldn’t suppress her curiosity. She squinted, peering through a narrow slit to see what was inside the rune box.
Two items lay neatly arranged inside.
On the left was an irregular, fist-sized crystal. It was a dark red so deep it was almost black, with faint specks of light flickering within. It looked valuable at a glance.
On the right was a strangely designed small knife.
The hilt was solid, looking like it was made of wood, yet also of metal. But where the Blade should have been, there was only a swirling mist.
Seraphina Sinclair stared at the mist for a long time before she managed to pull her gaze away and turn to the crystal.
’This thing is...’
[Seed of All Things (B-level)]
[Description: A fist-sized crystal with faint golden patterns shimmering on its surface. A gentle pulse of energy can be felt upon touching it. Legend has it that at the turn of an ancient era, an indescribable existence scattered seeds into the rifts formed by colliding laws. Its origins are widely debated and can no longer be verified. Upon use, adds one title slot! This item can be used a maximum of two times!]
’It adds a title slot!’
Seraphina Sinclair gripped the B-level crystal tightly and opened her title page to check her titles.
Seraphina Sinclair had noticed the issue with the number of title slots as soon as she arrived in this world. Every survivor had three title slots, but only one was unlocked at the start.
’So you need a Seed of All Things to expand them? It actually requires a B-level item?’
’Isn’t that requirement a bit too high?’
The title Seraphina Sinclair got from killing an S-Class monster, a Great Dragon, only increased her attribute points by five.
’Even though it had plenty of other effects, that didn’t change the fact that it only gave five attribute points!’
Those five attribute points were indeed crucial for the current Seraphina Sinclair—a much-needed relief.
’But by the time she could easily kill B-level monsters and get B-level Supply Boxes... oh, wait, this is a rune box, which is even rarer than a Supply Box.’
’In any case, if not for her insane luck in finding a dying Great Dragon here, by the time she was strong enough to unlock a second title slot, she probably wouldn’t even need the five attributes from the title anymore, right?’
Regardless, Seraphina Sinclair had the item in her hands now.
She suppressed her excitement and glanced back at the waiter, who was still shuttling back and forth between the Lightgate and the Dragon Corpse with preservation materials.
’Alright, the area seems safe enough. I can use it.’
Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath, her fingers tightening around the warm [Seed of All Things].
The crystal’s dark red luster flowed in her palm, its flickering golden patterns pulsing faintly as if alive.
A strange pull emanated from it, making her instinctively want to absorb it.
She silently commanded, ’Use.’
WHIR—
The crystal suddenly became scorching hot, then dissolved into countless fine motes of light that flowed from her palm into her body.
Seraphina Sinclair felt something go *click* deep inside her body, as if an invisible lock had been opened. Immediately after, a vast surge of energy flowed through her limbs and bones, finally converging between her eyebrows.
[Title slot expanded!]
[Current available title slots: 2/4]
’2/4?!’
Seraphina Sinclair’s pupils dilated for a moment. She immediately looked at the still-open title page.
There, underneath the slot where [Windwhisper Dragonslayer] was equipped, an illuminated, empty title slot had appeared.
And below those two slots were two more that were grayed out.
The number of titles she could equip had gone from three to four!
The Seed of All Things didn’t just unlock one of the grayed-out slots—it carved out a completely new one!
Seraphina Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat.
Although both outcomes increased the number of titles she could equip, the difference between the two scenarios was like night and day.
The former was simply unlocking an existing slot, while the latter was creating something from nothing.
Seraphina Sinclair took back every complaint she had just made!
The two situations were completely different. All survivors started with three title slots, but now, Seraphina Sinclair had four.
"A single B-level item can add a permanent title slot... and according to the Description, it can be used twice..." Seraphina Sinclair’s breathing grew slightly ragged, her hand still clenched where the crystal had vanished. "If I find a second [Seed of All Things], does that mean I can have... five title slots?"
’If I equipped a title that gave five attributes in every slot, that would be a total of twenty-five points—ten more than someone with only three slots!’
Seraphina Sinclair suppressed her turbulent thoughts. Finding another rune box would be difficult enough, let alone another Seed of All Things.
She raised her hand and touched the newly opened title slot, re-equipping the [Pioneer] title that had been pushed out by [Windwhisper Dragonslayer].
It was only at this moment that Seraphina Sinclair felt genuinely happy about obtaining the [Windwhisper Dragonslayer] title!
She grinned foolishly for a while before remembering the waiter was still behind her.
Realizing she had to maintain her image, Seraphina Sinclair immediately put on a serious expression and turned her gaze to the other item.
