Chapter 380: Chapter 379: Belated Arrival

This was probably another one of the Black Mist World’s mechanics. There were no language barriers between members of the same Species.

’If this existed back then, maybe I wouldn’t have had to take my English proficiency exam twice just to pass,’ Seraphina Sinclair thought, chuckling to herself. To think she could still remember something like that at a moment of life and death.

The threat before her was more pressing.

The other party’s information was so accurate. Not only did they know her coordinates, but they were also aware of her "VIP" status. Without a doubt, this was the participant the guidance system had mentioned—the one who had purchased her information.

At that moment, Seraphina Sinclair was incredibly relieved that her attacker was a human, and not some other strange creature.

The only thing Seraphina Sinclair found strange was, since he had arrived at her mobile cabin before her, why hadn’t he attacked her Sunflower directly?

If she were in the burly man’s position, she would have definitely destroyed the Sunflower first, then either destroyed or taken all the visible supplies inside the cabin. After all, once the Sunflower was dead, its owner wouldn’t survive for long, even if they weren’t killed on the spot.

Seemingly noticing her gaze flitting toward the Sunflower inside the cabin, the burly man paused for a moment, then suddenly sneered. He took a step forward and pressed, "Black Fog Coins are just worldly possessions. You’d better think carefully. Is your life more important, or are they?"

With that single step, he positioned himself perfectly to shield the Sunflower. Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought it was his Sunflower and that Seraphina Sinclair was the intruder.

But this also meant that if the burly man suddenly turned to attack her Sunflower, Seraphina Sinclair would be completely helpless!

This realization made Seraphina Sinclair’s heart skip a beat.

He wasn’t ignorant; he was toying with her, applying pressure.

By controlling the Sunflower, he had her by the throat.

’I have to change this passive situation.’

"My life is more important, of course it is." Seraphina Sinclair immediately feigned weakness, her voice filled with panic. "You’re right, sir. Black Fog Coins are just worldly possessions. I’ll send them to you right now. What’s your ID?"

As she spoke, she raised her left hand again, pretending to operate the virtual interface. Meanwhile, her body imperceptibly shifted back half a step, creating a little more distance between them.

A flash of triumph appeared in the burly man’s eyes, but he remained vigilant.

"Good, you know what’s good for you! The ID is Bonecrusher 111. Hurry up! Don’t dawdle!"

’Bonecrusher 111...’

Seraphina Sinclair silently committed the name to memory.

She quickly tapped the panel in front of her a few times, faking the transaction while her focus was completely centered on one of the Moon Flame Evil Cleansing Talismans inside her Silver Moon Earrings.

She had no idea what his true strength was, but since he dared to cross a Zone to kill her, he must have a few tricks up his sleeve.

Seraphina Sinclair’s fingertip hovered over the confirmation "button," trembling slightly as if in fear.

The burly man’s gaze was drawn to her feigned hesitation for a split second. He opened his mouth to say something, but in that fleeting instant, a ball of fire materialized out of thin air and shot straight toward him!

Startled, the burly man instinctively raised the Broadsword in his hand, assuming a defensive stance.

Seraphina Sinclair didn’t remain idle either. She quickly gripped the Water Dragon Roar and charged forward like an arrow released from a bow.

The flame shattered the moment it made contact with the Broadsword. Seraphina Sinclair noticed that the man’s move wasn’t a simple block; it seemed to be the effect of some activated item. Unfortunately for him, that effect dissipated along with the shattering flames.

Following the scattered sparks was Seraphina Sinclair’s thunderous strike!

The chilling glint of the blade swung upward from a difficult angle, aimed at the man’s lower abdomen. The strike had no fancy techniques—only pure Speed and viciousness. It was a killing blow.

Seraphina Sinclair knew her Strength was no match for his. A head-on clash was the worst possible strategy.

’If I miss this chance, especially with the Sunflower as my weak point, this fight... will be incredibly difficult.’

But just as the blade was about to make contact with his abdomen, Seraphina Sinclair suddenly saw him crack a wide grin. ’This is bad,’ she thought. ’He definitely has another defense, and it must be protecting... the very spot I’m aiming for!’

As the Water Dragon Roar drew closer, it was just as she’d expected...

A nearly transparent film appeared over the burly man’s body, shielding him completely.

Seraphina Sinclair had even prepared for a grueling battle, but the sensation transmitted through the blade was completely different from the hard defense or the slick rebound of an energy shield she had anticipated. Instead, it was...

A nearly silent entry, so smooth it was heart-stopping.

The beautifully curved edge of the Water Dragon Roar sliced through the clothes on the man’s abdomen as easily as a hot knife through soft butter.

It was followed by flesh, and then the deeper internal organs.

That layer of protection had been effortlessly pierced by the Water Dragon Roar.

"How..." The savage grin on the burly man’s face froze instantly, replaced by shock and bewilderment.

He couldn’t seem to comprehend why the life-saving Divine Artifact—one he had spent a fortune on and which had saved his life multiple times—had been so easily broken.

He instinctively looked down, only to see a gruesome gash torn open across his abdomen. It was deep enough to see bone, his organs were partially visible, and blood was gushing out like a fountain, rapidly soaking his clothes and dripping onto the floor.

A moment later, a tsunami of pain finally swept through his nerves.

"Ugh... gurgle..." He made a strange, gurgling sound in his throat. The Broadsword slipped from his grasp and fell to the floor with a CLANG. His large frame swayed, and the vicious glint in his eyes was replaced by disbelief and the fear of death.

He tried in vain to cover the wound, but blood gushed wildly between his fingers.

With his last glance, the burly man’s confused eyes fell upon the long blade in Seraphina Sinclair’s hand.

’Hah...’

’A B-level... a B-level Weapon?!’

’She had a B-level Weapon this whole time, and she was pretending to be a helpless lamb?!’

The burly man staggered back two steps. No matter how many curses filled his mind, he couldn’t utter a single one.

His back slammed hard against the wooden cabin wall, making it VIBRATE. He then slid down against the wall, his eyes fixed on Seraphina Sinclair, unable to make another sound.

The mobile cabin fell silent once more. In the next second, the burly man’s corpse dissolved into specks of light, leaving behind only his Broadsword and an azure-blue pendant that had been hanging around his neck—a stark contrast to his rough appearance.

Seraphina Sinclair took a deep breath. Before she could even relax, another panel popped up in front of her.

She focused her eyes and saw that it detailed the specific rules for the burly man’s actions.

’Just like with the path bosses,’ she thought, ’the rules only pop up after I’ve killed the enemy!’

Seraphina Sinclair felt a surge of irritation, but she had no choice but to read it.

The rules were simple. A survivor from another Zone could only use special means to directly enter a target survivor’s mobile cabin. Since this had nothing to do with a trial by combat, a separate space would not be created; the battle would take place inside the mobile cabin itself.
