Chapter 1255 - 837: The Grand Finale: She Came, What If She Can’t See Me?

  • Next Chapter

The kindergarten teachers hadn’t expected it and asked Xiao Ang, "Your Dad and your mom both have time today?"

"Yeah!"

Xiao Xiaoang lifted his delicate, handsome, extremely beautiful little face, and those big eyes of his were shining.

The kindergarten teacher smiled. Although this kid could be a headache, a child without a mom is, after all, heartbreaking too. Luckily... the kid’s father now has a fiancée.

Both of them are surgeons, and surgeons really are busier than ordinary people. Taking advantage of today’s "parent–child day," being able to have a good talk with this kid’s Dad and future mom is also a good thing.

The event starts at two and ends at four thirty.

Most of the parents arrived around one thirty. The kids lying in the classroom that afternoon had no mood to nap; they each lay on their little beds, unable to shut their eyes, and kept sneaking glances out the window.

Once some parents showed up, the kids even more couldn’t think about sleeping. They threw on their clothes and ran out.

For kids this age, their parents are their own private treasure. Whenever it’s a day for parent–child activities, it’s the perfect chance for them to show off their treasure.

The kids all got off their beds one by one and ran out of the nap room.

Only Xiao Xiaoang was still lying on his bed, watching through the window and the doorway as the other kids threw themselves into their parents’ arms...

He lay there, his fists clenched tight, waiting...

At ten to two, the teacher came into the nap room, saw Xiao Ang still lying on his bed and wasn’t surprised. She walked over and spoke softly to Xiao Ang, "Xiao Ang, you’re still not planning to get up?"

"Has my Dad come?"

Xiao Ang asked.

"He’s here."

Xiao Xiaoang’s eyes suddenly lit up. He climbed down to put on his shoes while asking, "Then, then... what about my mom?"

"Um... the teacher doesn’t know that. I only saw your Dad come. He’s in the classroom right now waiting for you."

Xiao Xiaoang blinked, and for a moment a bit of worry rose in his heart.

He put on his shoes and followed the teacher toward the classroom. Before he even stepped inside, he saw outside the classroom Xiao Yan was talking with the director.

They saw Xiao Ang walking over and both smiled at him. Xiao Yan waved, and Xiao Ang immediately trotted over. "Xiao Yan, how come you’re so on time today?"

"Dad didn’t have surgery today, of course I’d be on time. Didn’t I promise you yesterday?"

Xiao Yan rubbed Xiao Xiaoang’s head and said to the director, "Thank you, Director, for taking such good care of our Xiao Ang."

"Mr. Xiao, listen to you. You send the child to kindergarten, how could we teachers not take careful care of him? Take Xiao Ang in. Our activity is starting soon."

"Okay."

Xiao Yan took Xiao Ang’s hand and headed into the classroom, but Xiao Ang twisted his head to look toward the kindergarten gate, craning his neck as long as it would go.

"What are you looking at?"

Xiao Yan asked him.

Xiao Ang pulled his gaze back and answered in a low, flat voice, "Nothing."

Xiao Yan gave the little guy a look. The two of them went into the classroom and found an empty seat. Xiao Xiaoang sat next to Xiao Yan, but his head was still turned toward the classroom window...

The kindergarten teachers explained to the parents and children what they’d be doing during the parent–child activities.

First were two little games. One was the "three people, four legs" game; for Xiao Xiaoang and Xiao Yan, it became "two people, three legs."

The other was jump rope, mainly for the parents to take part in, while the kids formed a cheering squad on the side.

After the two games, each family would make a cake together.

Xiao Yan listened very carefully. Since Xiao Ang started kindergarten, the school had run plenty of parent–child events, but the times Xiao Yan actually had time to come were very few and far between.

So whenever Xiao Yan could make it, he tried his best to do well, so Xiao Ang could feel proud and happy.

He listened attentively, but he also noticed his son was a bit absent-minded.

At first he didn’t understand why, not until the teacher led them out to the activity area outside the classroom, and a boy, eyebrows dancing, like he was watching Xiao Xiaoang’s joke, called out to him,

"Xiao Xiaoang, you’re bragging again! Didn’t you say today both your Dad and your mom would come? Where’s your mom?"

"None of your business."

Xiao Xiaoang shot back immediately.

Xiao Yan was taken aback for a moment and quietly asked Xiao Xiaoang, "Didn’t you... not like Pu Yang? Why would you say Mom was coming?"

When it came to the "mom" in Xiao Xiaoang’s mouth, the only person Xiao Yan could think of was Pu Yang.
