Supreme Warrior in the City
Chapter 2983 - 2983: New Life
The Human Emperor sighed and said, "There's actually water here, and the spiritual energy is so abundant that it can even nurture ordinary life!"
Everyone nodded in agreement. Having cultivated to their level, they were well aware of the process of ordinary life's birth.
Firstly, there must be spiritual energy, which is the key to survival. Secondly, there must be liquid water, which is the foundation for microbial birth.
After that comes the evolution and reproduction of organisms, a process that's very complex.
Starting from tiny microorganisms, step by step developing into intelligent life, eventually becoming cultivators, and then advancing to the strongest — this process is truly difficult.
However, once someone becomes the strongest, they transcend everything in the world; they're close to the existence of the Heavenly Dao Earth Principles.
As people were astonished, the voice of the Supreme Dragon Emperor called from afar, "Old Su, Old Su, hurry over here, come and see!"
Su Yang and his group quickly rushed over, and before reaching the spot, Su Yang cursed loudly, "Old Loach, how are you speaking?"
"Who's calling someone Old Su?"
"You're a million years older than me, calling me that— do you have any face at all?"
While speaking, the group arrived at a mountain stream where the Supreme Dragon Emperor and several others were standing beside a small creek, focusing intently, as if they had discovered something incredibly surprising.
The Supreme Dragon Emperor and the others concealed their power aura, seemingly afraid to disturb something.
Sensing Su Yang and his group approaching, the Supreme Dragon Emperor immediately looked up and said, "Hey, hide your aura!"
"Don't frighten them."
Su Yang and the others exchanged glances— what's down there that makes the Supreme Dragon Emperor so cautious?
But still, everyone cooperated by concealing their power aura.
Landing beside the creek, Su Yang asked curiously, "What have you discovered?"
"Why did you suddenly crush the Earth Principle Jade Pendant?"
"I thought you'd encountered some danger!"
The Supreme Dragon Emperor gestured for silence and whispered, "Lower your voice, don't disturb them."
"Who are 'they'?" the Human Emperor couldn't help but ask, as he flew over to take a closer look at the creek.
Not looking was fine, but once he did look, the Human Emperor also froze, staring at the creek as if witnessing the most astonishing scenario.
Su Yang and the others also gathered around, gazing inside, and everyone was equally taken aback.
This creek wasn't big, and the water was crystal clear.
Around this creek, a lot of purple water plants were growing.
"This... there's actually water plants growing?" the Taoist Venerable exclaimed, "This place truly has birthed life!?"
Everyone was extremely shocked, although it's just some water plants, they're life after all.
Previously, after the Integration of Ten Thousand Realms, life in the Great World was almost entirely wiped out.
Even heavenly level strong beings couldn't survive long without spiritual energy, let alone ordinary life.
It's just like how on Earth, where Su Yang used to live, if one day the sun disappeared, with no source of energy, all life would cease to exist.
No matter how advanced technology is, even if Earth could be relocated, the issue is, if the entire universe lacked energy, moving Earth anywhere would yield the same result.
Of course, in such circumstances, some lives managed to survive.
For example, the batch Su Yang saved before, who survived by entering a star, living off the spiritual energy supplied by its spiritual source.
While the rest mostly perished.
The Great World had become an utterly desolate place.
There were countless lives in the past, and it could be said that each star domain had life.
But after the Integration of Ten Thousand Realms, the Great World became barren.
Besides these strongest beings and a few fortunate surviving lives, there were no more lives left in the Great World.
These tens of millions of lives are just a fraction compared to the once thriving Great World, less than one billionth of what it used to be!
Even though everyone accepted the situation, seeing the once flourishing Great World reduced to this dead silence was still hard for them.
Yet now, seeing new life here, even if it's just some water plants, was enough to excite everyone.
With simple life forms like these, other life is bound to emerge alongside them, it's a good omen!
"Shh!" the Supreme Dragon Emperor quickly gestured for silence.
The Taoist Venerable said dismissively, "What are you afraid of? Are you worried you'll scare these water plants?"
The Supreme Dragon Emperor said annoyed, "You know nothing!"
"Keep watching!"
The Taoist Venerable looked displeased, muttering, "You little loach, after upgrading to the strongest, you've become more arrogant than before."
"What, you think I, the Daoist, can't handle you now?"
"With you like this, I could crush you with just one hand!"
The Supreme Dragon Emperor said helplessly, "Why are you so violent? I'm just asking you to keep watching, not picking a fight with you, why are you getting so worked up?"
"Come on, keep watching, there's good stuff!"
Everyone continued to watch closely but found nothing particularly different.
"What exactly is there?" muttered the Taoist Venerable, releasing Divine Sense directly to observe the creek's state.
"Stop!" said the Supreme Dragon Emperor quickly, "Don't ever do that!"
"You could frighten them to death!"
"Wait, they'll come out very soon!"
Su Yang and the others were puzzled— what could cause the Supreme Dragon Emperor to get so excited?
Nonetheless, the group patiently waited.
Since they couldn't use Divine Sense to detect, no one knew what was truly going on inside.
After an unknown amount of time, the water plants began to sway suddenly.
Then, a head the size of a glass ball peeked out.
On the head were two glossy black eyes, circling around as if observing the surroundings and checking for any danger.
Su Yang and the others immediately widened their eyes— there's actually a living creature inside?
"This..." the Taoist Venerable, excited, wanted to speak but was muffled by the Supreme Dragon Emperor's tail.
This time, the Taoist Venerable neither resisted nor got angry, entirely captivated by the little creature in the creek.
The little creature widened its eyes, examined the surroundings, but didn't discover Su Yang and others who had concealed their aura.
Seemingly sensing no danger, the little creature wobbly swam out from the water plants.
Only then did everyone see clearly; this was a creature resembling a dragon-turtle.
Dragon head, turtle shell, snake tail, with sharp bone spurs on its shell— at first glance, it was not to be trifled with.
But the little creature was very timid, surveying its surroundings constantly, as if cautiously defending against potential danger at any moment.
