Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!
Chapter 1299: Music box
The familiar Lottery Wheel of the System spun in front of Arabel.
The rotation stopped, and for her first attempt, she received a Crystal flower vase.
The second attempt brought her a Set of Sexy Underwear.
And the third and last one is a Music box.
"And what did you win?" asked Idan curiously.
He couldn’t help but notice how his wife was distracted by something, and on the second attempt, following her actions, he realized that she was playing the lottery.
Arabel looked at him and pouted.
"Just trinkets," she replied, pulling out two items. She decided to save the underwear for later, to surprise her husband later.
Looking at the two objects, she shifted her gaze to Idan. She was not stupid and noticed that her husband showed her only two items that he had won in the lottery. The third one, like her, he probably hid.
Since she wasn’t going to share the third prize yet, she didn’t bring up the issue.
Idan, in turn, also noticed only 2 items, smiled to himself and remained silent.
"A crystal vase and a box?" whispered Idan, admiring these objects.
The vase was truly magnificent: its transparent facets shimmered in the light coming through the window, and delicate silver patterns shimmered on the thin walls. Knowing that all the things he won in the lottery have special properties, Idan began to wonder what wonders this vase held.
But Arabel’s mind was elsewhere. She stared at the beautiful vase, which suddenly reminded her of a sad truth.
"You haven’t given me flowers since we met..." Arabel whispered with a sigh.
Idan, who was studying the second object, the music box, froze.
"What?" - he asked.
Arabel immediately looked away.
"Nothing," she said softly, picking up the vase and turning it over in her hands.
Idan narrowed his eyes. Of course, he had perfectly heard what she had just said. He wasn’t deaf. Cultivators had excellent hearing.
He noticed the vase in Arabel’s hands. She was right: he had never given her flowers.
"If she wants flowers, then why not say so directly?" Idan asked.
Arabel, pretending to examine the vase, stole glances at him and quickly looked away.
"Let’s put it here in the living room, I think we’ll need it soon," Idan suggested.
"Okay," Arabel nodded, a smile playing on her face as she took the hint. Warmth and expectation spread in her soul.
Idan himself began to think about where to get the flowers. And most importantly, what kind of flowers do Arabel like?
"I’ll have to ask Arslan about this," he decided, and finally turned his attention to the box.
When Idan opened the box, a soft melody started playing inside.
Arabel put down the vase and, turning to the box in her husband’s hands, immersed herself in the music.
As they listened, they both felt something inside them respond, but they couldn’t figure out what it was. They continued to listen in silence until the melody ended.
Sniff... Sniff...
Arabel sniffed, not realizing why this unfamiliar melody touched her soul so much. She noticed that Idan was also moved, but he tried to keep a calmer demeanor.
"What is this melody and where is it from?" whispered Idan, and at that moment a system notification appeared in front of him.
[Playback is complete.]
[Would you like to repeat the melody, choose another one from the saved ones, or save your own?]
"Are there other saved tunes?" wondered Idan, raising his eyebrows. "But by whom?"
Then it dawned on him: "Are they really other Hosts of our Systems?"
Arabel looked at him in surprise.
There was silence in the room.
System, as always, remained silent.
But for Idan and Arabel, it was enough to take a fresh look at the music box.
Perhaps they are mistaken, or perhaps this box preserves the heritage and history of other people like them.
"Do you want to listen to the rest of the tunes?" asked Idan, and Arabel nodded.
Idan chose another tune, and the box started playing again.
Every new melody they heard found a response in their souls. Although the melodies were completely different in mood, they all gave a sense of something in common.
When the last tune was played, Arabel couldn’t hold back her tears. Even Idan, usually reserved, slightly moistened his eyes, although he did not shed a tear.
They sat in silence, not taking their eyes off the box for a while.
What Arabel had previously thought of as a trinket turned out to be something special.
"Let’s not touch these tunes," she suggested. "We will not delete them, but carefully preserve them."
Idan nodded in silent agreement.
They didn’t say a word, but at that moment their thoughts were one. In the future, they will create their own similar tune to complement this collection, even if things don’t turn out the way they think they will.
After putting the box away, they moved to the kitchen.
Idan took on the role of cook, taking out two Silver Whisperers, which he caught with his own hands. He quickly decided what to cook from them.
Arabel looked at the fish. Fish like fish, but she noticed her husband’s smug look. Then she took a break to check the system notifications, which she hadn’t checked yet.
"Woah!" yawned Arabel, feeling tired and an irresistible urge to fall asleep.
While she was checking the system notification, a pleasant fragrance filled the air, which momentarily distracted her from thoughts of sleep.
For a moment, she was distracted by watching her husband’s back, who was cooking with energy. At that moment, she realized that not every man can be like her husband, and that she was really lucky to be with him.
She had just finished checking the notifications when Idan placed several dishes of fish in front of them.
"Let’s eat," he said, and they began to eat.
"How delicious," Arabel’s eyes shone with pleasure. In her personal opinion, her husband’s cooking was always better than restaurant dishes.
"Glad you liked it," Idan smiled, enjoying the taste of the fish he caught himself.
During the meal, Arabel raised a question that they should solve together.:
"Dan, have you thought about which two "functions" we should choose?"
