Chapter 363: Demon Swamp Frog
Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Demon Swamp Frog
"It’s a pity... you found out too late."
Ji Chen said calmly, as he slowly stepped towards the two in front of him.
"Spare... spare our lives!"
The two were terrified to the extreme; they had never imagined they had kicked an iron plate.
Moreover, the Forbidden Power within the Emperor’s Fall Mountain Range is formed by the lingering Blood of the Great Emperor, and under such power, it is nearly impossible for anyone to remain unaffected.
But now, a young man unknown to them had done it, using cultivation even after penetrating hundreds of miles into the Emperor’s Fall Mountain Range.
"Don’t... don’t kill us, we’re willing to give you everything we have!"
Their hearts filled with dread, seeing the intent to kill in Ji Chen’s eyes, their instinct to survive made them want to struggle, but the terrifying aura emanating from Ji Chen pressed them down, rendering them immobile.
"I can kill you and take the things from your corpses, can’t I?"
Ji Chen sneered, his gaze sweeping past the two, the intent to kill undisguised.
"Buzz!"
The moment his words fell, without hesitation, he raised his finger as he closed in on the two, pointing outward.
The space trembled slightly, and then, the radiant finger beam pierced through the two’s foreheads in an instant, killing them on the spot.
Without a shred of mercy, Ji Chen took the storage magical treasures from their corpses before striding away, heading deeper into the mountain range without looking back.
Such incidents had been happening quite often within the Emperor’s Fall Mountain Range these days.
As Ji Chen advanced deeper into the mountains, he encountered many instances of murder and robbery, but he didn’t pay any heed, merely observing coldly before continuing on.
Of course, those cultivators who came to him with intentions to attack were not spared; Ji Chen mercilessly killed them in the mountains.
Without exception, these people couldn’t understand why Ji Chen could wield spiritual power in this perilous mountain range right up to the moment of their death.
...
"This should be the area."
In the blink of an eye, another three days had passed.
By now, Ji Chen had penetrated nearly a thousand miles into the Emperor’s Fall Mountain Range.
He wasn’t walking particularly fast, for Ji Chen knew that he was likely still behind the Di Race groups.
Now, he arrived at a marshland.
It was a point marked on the map, deep within the Emperor’s Fall Mountain Range.
Yet, Ji Chen found that there were already cultivators who had arrived ahead of him.
The good news was that the marshland was vast, and there weren’t many cultivators here, scattered as they searched for opportunities within it.
Without hesitation, Ji Chen stepped into the marsh.
The plants were stained red by blood, and the heavy moisture and presence of dew made them appear even redder, instilling an eerie feeling.
"Boom!"
He hadn’t walked far when a loud noise suddenly came from one side in front of Ji Chen.
His eyes narrowed as he looked, seeing cultivators fleeing quickly in all directions from the source of the sound.
"What happened?"
Some newly arrived cultivators wondered, trying to understand the situation.
"Run quickly, a Demon Swamp Frog has appeared ahead—it’s terrifying! It devoured a Grand Elder of a Sacred Land in a single gulp, along with his Holy Weapon!" someone exclaimed, retreating as they spoke, unwilling to linger here any longer.
"Demon Swamp Frog!"
Upon hearing this, everyone couldn’t help but be shocked.
This was a very rare Ancient Exotic Species, living in the marshlands, and it was said that even a Saint would need to retreat upon encountering a fully grown one, or risk falling.
Especially since they were in the Emperor’s Fall Mountain Range, where everyone’s cultivation was suppressed. How could they deal with such an ancient creature?
"Ah!"
Screams sounded, reaching Ji Chen’s ears.
He looked and saw several cultivators who reacted too slowly being crushed into mincemeat by the Demon Swamp Frog’s slap.
"You beast!"
A cold snort rang out, accompanied by a flash of Holy Light, illuminating the surroundings.
Everyone felt a shocking aura permeate the area instantly.
An elderly man in white robes charged at the Demon Swamp Frog, wielding an ancient Great Sword.
The Great Sword vibrated, emitting radiance and enveloped in Sacred Rhyme—truly a Holy Weapon.
"It’s the Zhang Family’s Grand Elder!"
Everyone marveled, showing joy on their faces.
The Zhang Family, an empire of the Dusk Wind Star Realm, had a Grand Elder with Saint Realm cultivation. Although his spiritual power was suppressed, with the Holy Sword in hand, dealing with this Demon Swamp Frog shouldn’t be too difficult.
"Bang!"
But as everyone thought this, a dull sound entered their ears.
"Ah!"
Then they saw the Zhang Family’s Grand Elder being slapped away by the Demon Swamp Frog, his face pale, coughing blood, gravely injured.
"Swish!"
Without a second thought, he scrambled up, activating the Holy Sword’s power for temporary use of spiritual power, slipping through the air, attempting to flee.
"Ribbit!"
A frog croak was heard as the Demon Swamp Frog opened its large mouth, and its long tongue shot out, wrapping around the Zhang Family’s Grand Elder, pulling him back from afar.
"Gulp."
The Demon Swamp Frog swallowed the Zhang Family’s Grand Elder, along with his Holy Sword, right in front of everyone’s eyes.
"This..."
"It dares to swallow a Holy Weapon—this Demon Swamp Frog is beyond our capability!"
The crowd was horrified as a Grand Elder Level strongman was killed, losing a Holy Sword—a heavy loss indeed.
"Hurry up and run—this place is dangerous. If that Demon Swamp Frog targets us, we won’t be able to escape."
Words fell, and nearly all cultivators retreated, unwilling to remain in the marsh. If they could still use spiritual power, they might fight the Demon Swamp Frog, but since their power was sealed, staying meant certain death!
