Chapter 342: Chapter 241: Big Boss Meets Big Boss, an Unexpected Situation in the Live Stream Room
「A few minutes later.」
Lin Chu and Zhang Peng stood on the rooftop of the house.
It was a semi-open space, with a covered area like a living room and an open area featuring an infinity pool. The pool was empty at the moment. Sitting on its edge, you had an unbeatable view of the sea.
A gentle breeze from Victoria Harbor caressed their faces, feeling wonderfully pleasant.
Looking past the white sandy beaches and the azure sea, one could see the skyscrapers of the city in the distance, a dazzling world of neon lights and lavish living.
"What a place. Drinking here at night would be absolutely incredible. I’ve really seen the world today. You have to hand it to the rich folks in Xiangjiang—they sure know how to live."
Zhang Peng said with a smile, handing a cigarette to Lin Chu before lighting one for himself. He took a long drag and exhaled slowly, a look of pure contentment on his face.
’I suddenly remembered my old QQ status from my cringey teenage years: "Awake, I command the world; drunk, I lie on a beauty’s lap." It’s a line that makes me blush and cringe so hard my toes curl just thinking about it now. But for a second there, it just... resonated with me. I could feel that sense of unbridled satisfaction.’
’Even though I’m not there yet myself, just getting a taste of it is like a shot of adrenaline. I’m totally pumped up.’
"You can say that again..."
Lin Chu gave a casual smile.
He suddenly turned back to the real estate agent. "How about we play a little game? My friend and I haven’t had lunch yet. I want to be eating barbecue and drinking beer with him right here within the hour. You arrange it. And get a few beautiful women to drink with us. When we’re done, I’ll sign the papers."
As he spoke, Lin Chu casually pulled a thick stack of cash he’d exchanged earlier from his bag and placed it on the edge of the pool.
The agent was speechless.
He licked his slightly dry, pale lips, but his eyes shone with excitement.
This young boss had a unique air about him, combining the refined elegance of a successful gentleman with the wild, untamed spirit of a street punk. It was truly captivating.
Of course, what was even more captivating was the thick stack of bills right next to him.
"OK, no problem."
"If I can’t get it done, I’ll jump off this rooftop myself."
"I’ll start filling the pool for you two. Please, relax and wait for a little while."
The agent said with a smile, walked over to turn on the water valve, then quickly pulled out his phone. He mobilized his entire network, determined to fulfill the boss’s request in the shortest time possible.
A massive deal worth over four hundred million!
Zhang Peng glanced at Lin Chu, a speechless, amazed, and even slightly exasperated smile on his face. "You really know how to live it up."
Lin Chu gave a noncommittal nod.
"It just occurred to me," Lin Chu said. "Before crossing the sea, money could only solve 60% of my problems, at most. After crossing, it’s at least 90%."
"When I visited Hou Chengjin’s place before, I was shocked to see his butlers and Filipino maids. I’m talking about actual kneeling service. It was the real deal. But that was an exception. I looked into it later and found out he has special overseas channels to hire them. They’re incredibly hard to get; even money can’t always secure them."
"But here..."
Lin Chu spread his hands, his gaze distant as he looked out at the city.
’Wasn’t I once just a country bumpkin who clawed his way to where I am today?’
Zhang Peng pressed his lips together and nodded.
...
In less than an hour—about forty-something minutes later—while Lin Chu and Zhang Peng were splashing around in the pool like a pair of lovebirds, everything they had paid for arrived.
The barbecue was still hot, the beer was ice-cold, and as for the beautiful women... who knew where the agent had summoned them from? It didn’t matter. The point was to have fun.
Tearing into a grilled chicken wing, Lin Chu casually told the agent, "Both houses. I’ll take them. Go prepare the contracts."
The agent’s pupils dilated, and his sharp Adam’s apple bobbed.
"The other house... you’re not going to look at it?"
Even though he’d served many high-end clients, this was the first time he’d seen someone buy a house like this. He placed the order without batting an eye, more casually than someone buying a couple of cabbages at the market.
"Is there a problem?"
Lin Chu asked with a smile.
"No, not at all! There’s absolutely no problem. You can rest assured, President Lin. Okay, I’ll go prepare the contracts right now."
The agent snapped out of his daze as if waking from a dream, a grin spreading across his face that would have been impossible to suppress.
Zhang Peng was speechless.
He raised his beer and clinked it against Lin Chu’s.
"To freedom!"
The ice-cold beer going down brought with it a wave of heartfelt satisfaction.
The young models from who-knows-which agency were also swept up in the atmosphere, and the scene grew even more sultry.
Glass after glass of beer was quickly downed.
The quadruple-brewed craft beer packed quite a punch.
Lin Chu saw that Zhang Peng’s face was flushed and his eyes were a bit bloodshot. He smiled. "The bigger house—it’s yours."
Huh?
Zhang Peng froze. The shock didn’t sober him up, but he shot to his feet. "Holy shit! Boss man, what kind of crazy stunt are you pulling now?!"
"No, no, no. I’m not the boss man, you are. You’re the one who keeps my company running so smoothly."
"Bullshit! You’re the man! You’ve always been the man! If it weren’t for you, I’d still be slaving away, making ten grand a month and squeezing onto the damn subway every day."
Zhang Peng was so damn excited he was laughing to the point of tears. It felt like a dream.
Lin Chu looked at the virtual panel in front of him, where a notification for a tenfold rebate had appeared. He didn’t argue with Zhang Peng. Alcohol really was a wonderful thing; a man with enough of it in his system would say anything.
"Come on!"
"Keep it going!"
"Enough with the fucking sentimental crap. Let’s drink."
When life is good, you have to enjoy it to the fullest.
And so, when Duan Kun arrived with Jin Zhenxian, the celebrity he’d just flown in from Seoul, they were greeted by the sight of the entire rooftop transformed into a massive party.
