Super Thrilling Live Broadcast
When I first arrived at the ward where the Writer lived, I was afraid of being recognized by Chen Jiuge, so I had borrowed clothes from him and hid my original garments i
The strength in my body coiled into a single force, converging on my right fist.
"Crunch!"
Carrying hidden force, my fist slammed ruthlessly into Wang Wu's face!
His nasal bridge snapped, and his hideous face simply caved in.
With my first strike landing true, I followed up with a torrential storm of attacks, giving him no room to breathe. My fists lashed out like twin dragons breaking the sea, every blow sinking deep into flesh!
Filthy blood splattered everywhere. Wang Wu was beaten into a daze. He tried to dodge, but the passageway was narrow and the wall was right behind him. With nowhere to hide, he could only endure my relentless barrage.
"You..."
He tried to say something, but I wasn't about to give him the chance. A punch knocked his jaw askew. Using my elbows, knees, and every other available body part, I aimed to cripple him in the shortest time possible.
Still as stagnant water, swift as a fleeing rabbit—I balanced both perfectly, catching Wang Wu completely off guard.
He had to be green with regret right now, but unfortunately, there was no cure for it in this world. He could only swallow the bitter pill and pay with his life."Die!"
Wang Wu had drunk the blood of the Uncorrupted Bone. Hovering somewhere between half-human and half-corpse, he was too dangerous to underestimate, so I went straight for the kill.
There was absolutely no need to sympathize with someone like him. If there was a chance to kill him, I definitely couldn't miss it.
Grappling in close quarters, I knocked him to the ground, pinned his neck with one hand, snatched the iron pickaxe with the other, and swung it right at his head.
The motion was clean and sharp, without a hint of hesitation.
"Squelch!"
Like piercing a water-filled sack, pale red blood exuding a foul stench poured out.
The scene was somewhat gory. Standing next to Wang Wu, I looked rather terrifying. Ever since the massacre at the Three Yin Sect, my body had been tainted with a new aura—like the lingering scent of coagulated blood, smelling faintly bitter.
I yanked out the iron pickaxe and swung it down again, repeating the process like a machine until Wang Wu stopped struggling.
"Dead?" Throwing the iron pickaxe aside, my hands trembled. I stumbled a few steps backward before my legs gave out, and I slumped to the ground.
The skin over my knuckles was torn, the bone clearly visible. I looked down at Wang Wu, whose dead eyes were wide open, and used his clothes to wipe the blood off my hands.
"I've wanted to smash that face of yours flat for a long time." I searched his corpse but didn't find anything useful. Then, I picked up Gu Tongtong and checked her injuries.
Between the corpse venom and being dragged around by her neck like a toy by Wang Wu, the little girl's condition was far from optimistic.
It wasn't safe to stay here for long. I had no control over who would ultimately claim the Uncorrupted Bone, making leaving the best option for me.
With thoughts of retreat rising in my mind, I looked back toward the sinkhole. My Judging Eye pierced through the dense corpse Qi, just in time to witness the final two dragon poles snapping under the weight of the Suspended Coffin.
Following an earth-shattering boom, the Suspended Coffin crashed into the ground. The corpse Qi and earth Qi merged, instantly thickening tenfold to form a sea of black ink.
The Eight Immortals Coffin Suppression Diagram had grown so dim it could no longer be seen clearly. The Suspended Coffin was shattered, and the lid of the Inner Coffin within was slowly sliding open.
"The coffin is opening..."
My emotions were complicated. My mind raced, and I suddenly remembered my bet with Daoist master Wan. I quickly pulled my phone from my pocket. "Daoist master, are you still there? I've opened the Suspended Coffin. When you arrive in Jiangcheng, how should I find you?"
The camera panned over the mess on the ground, and Daoist master Wan's comment quickly popped up in the livestream chat.
Daoist master Wan: "You really are a freak, kid. Listening to you chant just now, you even managed to summon the Five Directions Plague Ghosts. My loss is no injustice."
"It's just a bit strange to me. You clearly know nothing, yet your ghost arts border on the divine. Is this what talent is?"
"Forget it. I made a bet, and I accept my loss. Kid, three days from now, go get some Agastache, Angelica dahurica, Atractylodes, Perilla leaves, and Rhubarb. Carry these traditional Chinese medicines on you, and I'll have my own way of finding you."
Receiving his reply, I breathed a sigh of relief and carefully memorized the names of those medicinal herbs. "Thank you, Daoist master. I might have to trouble you over the next few days."
Daoist master Wan: "I just checked the almanac. The next few days are all days of great misfortune, forbidding travel. Is your destiny cursed? Why is it that the moment I get involved with you, my luck goes down the drain?"
I exchanged a few more words with Daoist master Wan, only pulling away when the corpse Qi from the Suspended Coffin began to spread outward.
The Uncorrupted Bone was being targeted by the will of the heavens. An invisible force was hindering its birth, but its momentum was already set. Bursting out of the coffin was only a matter of time.
"The Uncorrupted Bone's spine is missing a piece, leaving it with a fatal flaw. If I end up going up against it in the future, I still have a chance to fight back." I picked up Gu Tongtong. As the sole survivor of the White Ancestor bloodline, she might serve as a trump card to counter the Uncorrupted Bone in the future.
"It's getting late. I need to rush back to Century New Garden before dawn." Another crucial reason for my urgency to leave was the fear of being discovered by those sect members. If that happened, there truly would be no way out.
Jade Bone in hand, I ran upstairs. The White Worms on the corridor walls lost control and burrowed into the ground.
In the hallways, I also saw many white fiends and Earth Corpses wandering aimlessly. Once these terrifying things broke out of the Jianghu Cancer Research Hospital, it would be a massive catastrophe.
'The birth of the Uncorrupted Bone has a lot to do with me. If we really get down to it, I personally escorted Gu Tongtong into the Suspended Coffin.' At this thought, my expression turned grim. 'By that calculation, the karmic obstacle caused by the Uncorrupted Bone's birth will likely be pinned on my head. If I add on this massive horde of Earth Corpses and white fiends, the boundless sins of slaughter descending on me might plunge my merit straight toward negative two million!'
Wearing a bitter smile, I figured I would probably never clear my name in this lifetime. "Plagued by bad luck, if I don't want to be targeted by heaven's will, I can only wear the Good and Evil Asura Mask. But this mask seems to affect a person's mind and personality. If I wear it for too long, I'm afraid it will be very hard to take off."
My mind was as clear as a mirror, understanding everything perfectly. But understanding aside, I had absolutely no way to solve it.
"Being able to survive is good enough. I shouldn't think too much about it." Sprinting out of the Underground Ninth Level, under the protection of the Jade Bone, not a single white fiend or Earth Corpse dared to cause me any trouble. The whole process was smoother than I had imagined.
Tearing the wooden boards off a window, I escaped from the Third Ward and ran toward the hospital's main entrance.
The night wind blew, and the shadows of the trees swayed. The hospital's perimeter felt like a bewildering array; I could see the half-open main gates, yet I was unable to get close.
"Mr. Paper's Feng Shui array?" Knowing I lacked the ability to break it, I doubled back to the Rehabilitation Center to retrieve the clothes I had changed out of earlier.
When I first arrived at the ward where the Writer lived, I was afraid of being recognized by Chen Jiuge, so I had borrowed clothes from him and hid my original garments in the tent (see Chapter 604 for details).
"At the back of the Rehabilitation Center, directly south, there is a water room. The life gate is there." I stuffed my clothes into a bag. Just as I was about to head out, I felt a patch of ice-cold wetness on my palm. Looking down, the red spots on Gu Tongtong's body had worsened again, turning a deadly ashen gray.
"Little one, can you hear my voice?!" I placed my hand under Gu Tongtong's nose. Her breath was as faint as a gossamer thread. I then listened to her heartbeat; it was incredibly weak.
"The corpse venom has seeped all the way through. At this rate, she probably won't hold on until I leave the hospital." I took out my phone and asked Daoist master Wan for a way to cure the poison, but the methods he gave me all required external items, and I had absolutely no way of getting my hands on those things right now.
Watching Gu Tongtong's aura continue to weaken, anxiety burned in my heart. I had finally managed to save her; to have her die from corpse venom just as we were about to escape made me feel incredibly stifled.
"Wang Wu once said he had the antidote. I searched him just now, and there was no medicine in his clothes. It must be hidden where he lived." I swept my gaze over the beer and the tent by the wall, as well as the silicone doll on the ground whose chest I had sliced open. "Could the Injection I found inside the doll's body be the antidote for the corpse venom?"
Taking the tightly wrapped Injection from my pocket and unfolding it, I discovered that one of the three vials had already shattered.
"There are two vials left. I might as well give it a try." I had no better options at this point, so treating a dead horse as a living one, I aimed for Gu Tongtong's vein and injected it.
The medicinal fluid entered her body. Five or six minutes later, the effects slowly began to show. Although Gu Tongtong didn't wake up immediately, her skin color became a bit more normal, and those grayish-black corpse spots gradually faded away.
"It's working!" I carefully tucked away the last intact vial, picked Gu Tongtong up, and headed to the water room with my clothes.
The door to the water room was half open. Upon entering, I was surprised to find that the water pipes here still worked. However, on second thought, it made sense; the white fiends and Earth Corpses were being raised in water tanks, and diluting the chemical fluids required water.
Setting Gu Tongtong aside, I was just about to turn on the tap to wash the filth and blood off my body when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. There was actually a person standing behind the wooden door!
He stood soundlessly behind the door, quietly watching me.
"Who are you?!"
A black jumpsuit covered his entire body, leaving not a sliver of skin exposed to the air. He wasn't very tall, his build was well-proportioned, and he wore a thin Paper Doll Mask on his face.
My Breath Listening hadn't detected his presence at all. This person was standing clearly in my line of sight, yet I couldn't feel the aura of a living human.
Along with the fear of a person suddenly appearing in the room, I also felt a trace of relief. I had been just about to take off my mask to wash away the bloodstains, but luckily I hadn't yet.
No one replied. We faced off like this for several seconds before the person suddenly spoke: "Why is your mask different from ours?"
"Mask? What do you mean?" A thought suddenly surfaced in my mind. 'When I saw Xiao A in the Deep Dream Layer, she was also wearing a Paper Doll Mask! It seems this mask is only worn by people from the Live Show!'
"Are you a live show streamer?" My heart leaped into my throat. During this live broadcast, there was a streamer who, to hide his identity, hadn't hesitated to implicate the innocent, forcing blameless people into the hospital. Such a person was ruthless and merciless, willing to do anything for points. And the most terrifying part was that the Live Show had specially issued an extermination mission: killing everyone in the hospital would reward a hundred points!
Would he be tempted?
