Chapter 2443 - 2444: Misunderstanding

Chapter 2443: Chapter 2444: Misunderstanding

The pressure emanating from Zheng He, although it has not directly crushed Zhong Wei, makes it hard for Zhong Wei to breathe, let alone giving rise to even a hint of lying.

Zheng He’s pupils seem to be peering at Zhong Wei, as if he would detect even a slight intention to lie from Zhong Wei, which makes Zhong Wei even more flustered as he thinks about how to respond.

After pondering for a while, Zhong Wei decided to speak the truth, gritting his teeth tightly, he then opened his mouth.

"Disciple was driven by lust and momentarily confused, initially just wanting to acquaint himself with little sister Xiao Ying, but who would’ve known, out came a person who directly killed my disciple friend... without asking for any reason, acted ruthlessly and cruelly..."

Zhong Wei spoke frankly, but anyone could hear from his words that Zhong Wei deliberately was pushing all blame onto Lin Chen.

After all, Zhong Wei is not foolish, the sect’s foremost iron rule is not to kill. And now Lin Chen has precisely violated this rule.

If judging by seriousness of the crime, Lin Chen’s responsibility, as seen this way, would be far heavier than Zhong Wei’s.

But how could he know that if Lin Chen killed someone for no reason, he might still be punished. But now when others provoked him and Xiao Ying, the situation is different.

Even if Lin Chen did not make a move now, if others found out later, they would still be killed, which signifies an attitude, an attitude towards them.

Upon hearing what Zhong Wei said, Zheng He’s face turned visibly gloomy, his long fiery red hair blown up without wind, he stared tightly at Zhou Lie.

"So you intend to take down brother Lin and them?"

Surprisingly, after hearing these words, Zheng He did not question Zhong Wei, but instead asked Zhou Lie.

The look in his eyes, like anger with a tone of hatred for not living up to expectations, made Zhou Lie somewhat fearful and uneasy.

Since he entered the room, it was his first time seeing Zheng He with such burning anger, which Zhou Lie had never witnessed before.

Seeing this once, he couldn’t help but feel slightly panicked.

"Yes, Master..." Zhou Lie swallowed a gulp of saliva and had no choice but to reply truthfully.

"Don’t blame him, when he came just now, I thought he was the same kind of person as this, so didn’t bother to explain, causing such misunderstanding."

Seeing Zheng He’s unusual action, Lin Chen hurriedly spoke.

Zhou Lie, though somewhat proud of face, was ultimately deceived by Zhong Wei, therefore Lin Chen wouldn’t want to pursue further, especially since Zheng He has done him a favor, being Zheng He’s disciple, Lin Chen couldn’t go too far.

Now he was just trying to smooth things over.

With these words, Zheng He released his tightly clenched fist and felt relieved in his heart, looking gratefully at Lin Chen.

Then he swept his sleeve and said to Zhou Lie in a bad mood, "Hurry up and thank Brother Lin."

"Thank you."

Zhou Lie dared not defy, as he feared his master most, now he could only bow to Lin Chen. Lin Chen responded with a faint smile, his youthful face as calm as before.

"As for this person, take him to the water prison, torture until death!"

Zheng He immediately pointed to the still kneeling Zhong Wei, setting his fate in this conversation.

These words left Zhong Wei slightly puzzled, not knowing what lay in the water prison, but hearing the words torture until death, his face showed seriousness.

"Elder, spare me!"

At this moment, Zhong Wei realized whom he had provoked, he never thought this outing would result in this.

"Take him away!"

Zheng He clenched his fist, the veins on it bulged, had it not been for Zheng He’s restraint, Zhong Wei would already be a dead man.

However, Zheng He obviously did not want him to die so easily, sending him to the water prison to taste some hardship.

Knowing that place usually holds the most villainous offenders, once Zhong Wei is there, served by the penal means, how long can he survive?

But these are not important, what’s important is to make Zhong Wei suffer thoroughly.

Hoarse sounds continuously spilled from Zhong Wei’s mouth as his hands kept clawing the ground, dragging out a several-meter-long trace from the stony ground.

While his legs and feet were held by several persons from behind, no matter how he struggled, he couldn’t escape from their grip.

The disciples from the law enforcement hall knew the dangers within the water prison, looking at Zhong Wei with eyes full of pity. The dangers there, even a strong spirit fetus realm expert dared not tread easily.

Imagine the consequences for someone in the spirit refining realm.

...

After the screaming grew distant, Zheng He also slowly retracted his stern face, turned to Xiao Ying with a gentle look, and said, "Don’t be afraid, Xiao Ying, no one in the Green Ripple Sect dares to bully you."

These words made Xiao Ying slightly moved, then she softly replied, "Mm."

"Thank you elder for your concern." Lin Chen also bowed his hand in appreciation.

If it weren’t for Zheng He’s arrival, though he was not afraid of Zhou Lie, it would still be troublesome to drive him away.

Now everything is resolved completely.

Originally, Zheng He intended to punish the other two survivors, one who passed out early and another who passed out later, but Xiao Ying shook her head.

She remembered the scene where Zhu Hao pleaded for her earlier, so she naturally felt reluctant to pursue it further and let it pass.

"Brother Lin Chen, can you accompany me to the mountain peak there?"

After a brief chat, Xiao Ying tugged at Lin Chen’s sleeve and asked.

She pointed remotely with her hand, it was a tall peak, one of the secondary peaks of Green Ripple Sect, but due to its steepness, few ventures there, even Lin Chen, though he had been in Green Ripple Sect for quite some time, had never been there.

She wondered why Xiao Ying wanted to go there.

But Lin Chen had no reason to refuse, he turned his head slightly and nodded gently to Xiao Ying, saying, "Okay."
