Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 2781: Zhang Bai, President Zhang
Chapter 2781: Chapter 2843: Zhang Bai, President Zhang
She’s a beauty, absolutely, even with sunglasses hiding her eyes, there’s no doubt she’s gorgeous, Zhang Bai confidently thought. He then flashed a charming smile and said, “Hello, my name is Zhang Bai, I’m a new student this year. Are you a new student too?”
“Yes,” the beauty replied softly.
Zhang Bai felt even more delighted. If she were a returning student, countless people might’ve already had their eyes on her, perhaps even managed to woo her. Hearing she’s a new student pleased him. Women who come here to further their studies often have ulterior motives, although it’s possible some might be genuinely talented. However, from what Zhang Bai could recall, he didn’t know any influential women in domestic businesses who were this stunning. Not knowing made him happier.
“That’s great, looks like we’ll be classmates in the future. Have you been to the business school before?” Zhang Bai asked, maintaining a polite demeanor without getting too close.
The beauty made a sound of acknowledgment and said, “Hello, classmate. No, I haven’t been here before, this is my first time.”
“Oh, that’s perfect, I haven’t been here either. We could explore the school together and check out the legendary Huaxia Business School.” Zhang Bai invited.
The beauty seemed to frown slightly and said, “Sorry, I have things to attend to. Zhang, you can explore by yourself.”
As she spoke, the beauty elegantly nodded and was about to turn back inside. Zhang Bai hurriedly said, “I’m not trying to be abrupt, just thinking of familiarizing with the new environment together. Maybe we’ll bump into some other classmates.”
“I understand, but sorry, I have other matters!” the beauty said before walking further inside. She was wearing a long dress, her figure was graceful and charming. Despite not taking off her glasses, she still looked incredibly beautiful. Zhang Bai licked his lips, watching her walk away. Although he’d been turned down, he wasn’t discouraged. He could sense that she was genuinely dismissing him, not playing hard to get, which made things more interesting. He liked women like her.
Closing his eyes, he took a soft breath. Though there was no fragrance in the air, Zhang Bai found it intriguing. At least, he wanted to find out who she was in the shortest time possible, identifying her job and other details. Whether she had a boyfriend didn’t quite matter to him. Given Zhang Bai’s status and future prospects, he believed that if a diamond bachelor like him couldn’t capture such a beauty, then who could?
Snatching girlfriends wasn’t something new to him; in fact, he’d done it many times. He was rather experienced in this area.
Opening his eyes, Zhang Bai touched his nose and revealed a satisfied smile.
Of course, his demeanor, seen by people nearby, appeared somewhat sleazy. Many had intended to strike up a conversation with the beauty, but Zhang Bai beat them to it, leaving others feeling annoyed. Seeing him fail, many took delight in his misfortune. However, they didn’t know who Zhang Bai was, leading them to harbor such thoughts.
“Mr. Zhang, I didn’t expect it to be you!” As Zhang Bai was about to head inside, he heard a voice behind him, a man’s voice. Turning around, he saw a short, chubby middle-aged man approaching with a tall beauty by his side. Though she looked good, she was far from his type compared to the earlier beauty.
He frowned at the man and asked, “And you are…?”
“I’m Fang Zhongyong, from Southern Sky. We met at the high-tech forum a few days ago!” the chubby man said.
Looking at the bald, stout man, Zhang Bai still couldn’t recall him. But he wasn’t dumb and immediately extended his hand with a smile, “Director Fang, I didn’t expect to meet you again.”
“Yes, I was thinking if I saw Mr. Zhang again, I’d surely invite him for a meal, and here we are! Little Wei, this is the Mr. Zhang I mentioned. Young and promising, despite his youth, he’s already become a giant in the high-tech field. Isn’t he even more handsome in person?” the chubby man praised.
These were flattering remarks, but who wouldn’t feel good upon hearing them? Zhang Bai, receiving such praise, shook his head with a smile, “No, no, Director Fang, you’re exaggerating. I don’t deserve such compliments.”
“Mr. Zhang is here to study, right?” the chubby man asked.
“Indeed, here to study and recharge!” Zhang Bai nodded.
“Great place! I saw the list of attendees for this session; they’re prominent figures from various fields, exceptionally talented. This session’s definitely a good one!” the chubby man commented.
Zhang Bai didn’t remember this man and didn’t really want to converse further. People he couldn’t recall generally weren’t significant, and given the chubby man’s demeanor, he likely didn’t know how he got here either. So, Zhang Bai chuckled and said, “Director Fang, let’s have a meal together sometime. I have some matters to attend to, heading inside first.”
That’s the same rejection he received from the beauty, which he now handed back to Director Fang, though he didn’t feel happy about it. After saying that, he prepared to leave, but Director Fang, eager to converse further, saw him leaving and could only say, “Alright, Mr. Zhang, let’s reconnect some other time. Now that we’re classmates, it should be convenient.”
He felt a bit envious, seeing Zhang Bai’s appearance, prestigious school background, and entrepreneurial success. Despite working hard his whole life to amass a fortune of several billion, his entry to the academy was due to connections rather than merit.
“No problem!” Zhang Bai nodded with a smile, turning to walk inside. But the saying “good looks don’t last long” played out as he heard a voice again from behind after only a few steps, calling, “Sir, sir, please wait a moment.”
Zhang Bai turned around, somewhat impatiently, and saw a security guard jogging over. Zhang Bai asked, “What’s up?”
“Sir, is that red Ferrari yours?”
“Yes, it’s mine.”
“Please move it, at least to a parking space. Our parking lot is opposite; you can park there or further away. We don’t allow parking in front of the school entrance,” the guard said. While he was a guard, he was a Huaxia Business School guard, and his status was different. Huaxia Business School was for high-level talents or industry leaders to study and network. Being a guard here was a tier above elsewhere, with more confidence, considering the caliber of attendees. Parking your car at the entrance, blocking other classmates, wasn’t acceptable.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Bai instinctively looked at where he parked. Director Fang and his female companion were watching the show, and Zhang Bai nodded, saying, “Oh, let me move it.”
Zhang Bai was visibly perturbed, thinking about how his multimillion-dollar car couldn’t be parked there when other cars did. Especially since there was an Audi parked less than ten meters behind his Ferrari. Why was his car singled out? This felt like a slight to him.
Over the years, Zhang Bai couldn’t stand being looked down upon, and this situation frustrated him. Nonetheless, he acknowledged his mistake and went to move the car.
Once Zhang Bai left, Director Fang chuckled, and his female companion said coyly, “Husband, he seems quite ordinary. Besides being a bit handsome, what’s so great about him? Even studying here? Could he be a maintained pretty boy?”
“Pretty boy my foot! This guy’s no ordinary! He’s got talent and some luck!” Director Fang sighed.
“Is he really that impressive? I find it hard to believe. I heard people studying here, the beautiful women and the handsome men, aren’t here just for learning but also for hunting, or rather, waiting to be hunted.” She showed disdain, seemingly forgetting her own position. Considering Director Fang’s age and appearance, she’d have to be blind to like him, but it was money that had her endure being on a daily basis pressed by a hefty pig.
Director Fang laughed, “That’s their freedom; don’t go judging. Besides, those who study here, even if waiting to be hunted, aren’t common folk. Ordinary people wouldn’t get in.”
“Hehe, husband, I didn’t say much. Promise me you won’t go hunting, otherwise I’ll be jealous.” She quickly began to act cute, though her voice was a bit too exaggerated. Li Yifei, just off the bus, instinctively looked back and felt a bit uncomfortable. Of course, he didn’t show it, pulling a suitcase. Li Yifei didn’t find it cumbersome, although ideally the suitcase wouldn’t be there.
But! With a wife that’s a different story, she’d packed over ten outfits in that suitcase, considering the season. More clothes would be sent over later, along with other daily essentials like razors, ensuring Li Yifei had a comfortable study experience. That last phrase was somewhat overstated as the ladies didn’t know what he’d be learning here, or if he’d learn anything at all, and this was only about socializing…
Li Yifei got off the bus and noticed a short, bald, chubby guy nearby a tall girl with large hips. The sound came from the woman, no need to ask what their setup was.
Dragging his suitcase, Li Yifei glanced at the school gate, not particularly majestic or grand, but the words on the gate were hefty—Huaxia Business School. Bearing the Huaxia name signified its domestic standing, making it not surprising that many successful businesspeople came to study here for prestige. The applicant quality for this session was high; they had achievements in their fields, and that was uncommon, stirring some interest in Li Yifei, who’d arrived on the bus for this learning journey.
