Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 2766 - 2828: The Evildoer
In this person’s expose, it was mentioned that Zhao Xianjin’s job seemed to have been "arranged" rather than earned through his own efforts. In truth, his family holds some influence locally, but only locally. However, the reason Zhao Xianjin’s family is formidable is because, according to rumors, his family is related to the Zhao Family, the leading clan in the provincial capital, which allows them to dominate the small city of Black City.
To put it simply, Zhao Xianjin’s family is merely a minor branch of the Zhao Family in Black City, and rumors have it that the Black City Zhao Family is related to the Provincial capital Zhao Family. This relationship might seem tangled, but once explained, it all becomes clear.
Of course, this is just the result of Li Yifei and the others’ investigation, which the netizens are unaware of. They just think the Zhao Family is very influential locally, which is why the authorities dare not intervene, allowing Zhao Xianjin to remain ostentatious outside.
Others have exposed that they are Zhao Xianjin’s colleagues, stating that they do not rely on this job for a living. In fact, the monthly salary is not sufficient for anything. Zhao Xianjin, inside the police station, disregards leadership—considering it good if he shows up a few days a month. Sometimes he’s absent for months, and the station chief is helpless. He is arrogant in the Black City and extremely malicious.
More revelations claim that Zhao Xianjin has killed someone, having beaten a classmate to death while in school. In recent years, he continued to bully ordinary people. Some even solemnly assert that he bullied an elderly man in Black City—the elderly man accidentally brushed against his car while walking, which was nothing serious, but Zhao Xianjin demanded an apology from the elder. When the elder spoke slowly, Zhao Xianjin directly pushed him down and drove over, breaking the elder’s legs, causing a terribly tragic scene.
In short, these types of information, true and false, have led many to start exposing, none of which are good. This further incited anger among netizens, wishing they could grab Zhao Xianjin and beat him up fiercely.
Of course, when the wall falls everyone pushes. Among the whistleblowers, most of the matters are probably false or exaggerated, but who would care about that now? What netizens see is anger, the shamefulness of the person, and they want to see him dealt with.
Initially, Zhao Xianjin could still post on Twitter to retaliate against netizens, threaten Li Yifei, and declare he would sue him, bringing out a pile of legal terms to defend himself. But it didn’t take long for him to panic, realizing this wasn’t a joke. Zhao Xianjin rushed home to tell his father, although he naturally artistically processed the story, not telling everything, focusing on being framed, deliberately smeared. Upon hearing this, how could Zhao Xianjin’s father take this? Someone bullying his only child at home—certainly worth making a fuss over. Driven by ignorance and fearlessness, Zhao Xianjin’s father not only didn’t reprimand his son but ran to the City Bureau to make a ruckus, demanding the leadership to clear his son’s name, and that the City Bureau must find the culprit who smeared his son and severely punish them.
To say some leaders in Black City aren’t fools; the internet is boiling over, how could they not know? Isn’t it just about safeguarding their positions? So the first thought is not to get involved; Zhao Xianjin is not a significant figure, but the Zhao Family in Black Province, behind it all, is formidable, not to be provoked by themselves. On the other hand, the boiling netizens don’t matter much to many, believing online matters are ultimately just online, representing a certain level of illusion, hence not affecting reality.
Moreover, coincidentally, the current head of the City Bureau retired early due to illness, leaving the director position vacant. A new director hasn’t been appointed yet, and among the four Deputy Directors, each believes they could be promoted. If they aren’t, someone might be sent down from above, which would be undesirable, so they dare not make mistakes.
Making mistakes naturally means deciding hastily in matters like Zhao Xianjin’s, to avoid implicating themselves. Everyone thinks online matters will pass in a few days, better not to cause chaos in real life. Hence, no one takes action.
Going further up... some leaders know as well, but in their view, it’s just a minor incident. The subordinates could handle it well, yet the subordinate hesitation has led to the situation escalating.
Especially with netizens consecutively exposing, many bullets started dispersing, targeting the entire leadership team of Black City. Online stories, real or fake, seem plausible, logical flow explained, inciting fury further.
Zhao Xianjin’s father sought out the Deputy Director familiar with him, who immediately shook his head with a wry smile, unwilling to get involved. Unfortunately, Zhao Xianjin’s father displayed a firm and resolute attitude, declaring he would seek the clan chief to press the City leadership, so the Deputy Director reluctantly intervened, instructing trustworthy subordinates to collect evidence unilaterally. Quickly, an arrest warrant was sent to Li Yifei. The police there to arrest, faced with the formidable Li family, looked at the group of fierce and better-equipped, even armed, bodyguards—their legs trembling, wondering who was arresting whom? The Deputy Director wasn’t virtuous; how could he send them to arrest such a person?
Upon arrival, the Deputy Director didn’t explain much, only providing an address and name for them to arrest. Now looking, it’s like colliding into a stone; Li Yifei’s home is comparable to a large neighborhood, guarded at the entrance, and nearly a dozen security guards eyeing fiercely, as if ready to tear them apart.
Arrest warrant arrived at Li Yifei’s place. He glanced, seeing it was issued by Black City’s City Bureau, chuckled lightly, handed it to Su Yiyi, asking her to take a clear photo, and asked the security guard who reported: "How was their attitude?"
"Attitude... soft, upon seeing our place like this, they could hardly speak." The security replied.
"Oh, let them leave then. They’re just doing their job, no need to make it difficult for them." Li Yifei said.
"Alright, I’ll go chase them away!" The security promptly obliged.
Su Yiyi had already taken the photo, sent it to Li Yifei’s phone. He looked at it and asked: "Do you think posting this on Twitter would make many lose hope in society?"
Su Yiyi shook her head with a smile, replied: "Despairing people never had hope, and those with hope won’t despair!"
"It seems despite ruling by law, many in those positions have no law in their minds, no ounce of reverence for the law. Certainly, it’s not to say all leaders in Black City are like this, but at least this time, those making decisions—their brains are full of crap!"
This arrest warrant was posted online, and Li Yifei suddenly found it interesting. Now, Black City sent people to take him, but the evidence was in his hand, and so it could be posted online. He wanted to see what the personnel in Black City still intended, what they could still do. Would they perhaps bring a large police force for cross-provincial arrest?
Given Li family’s defense, not just several ordinary police, even a hundred won’t suffice; relying solely on Li family’s security could put up a fight. What the outcome would be remains unknown, and besides, it’s believed Ning Province wouldn’t get involved, though many may have been offended, they likely don’t have the guts.
Certainly, Li Yifei and Chu Xiaoyao doing such indeed broke the law, but previously mentioned, those committing disgusting, illegal acts are fine, so what are they afraid of.
Online once again shocked, many furiously @ and questioned relevant Twitter tags related to Black Province, asking what they intend to do. Black Province does nothing; while veterans help to expose, collect evidence, the result is instead arresting the veterans? Is this an international joke? What do these bastards intend, are they trying to rebel!
This time, Li Yifei said nothing, simply posted a picture, letting netizens view, comment themselves, as it reached a point where nothing more needed to be said. But after posting for a while, he still retweeted, saying: "Don’t let your focus be diverted—this is merely a pervert’s doing; he is vile, those shielding him are vile, but don’t let other perverts off the hook. I will handle this matter, so I hope everyone’s focus isn’t diverted."
"The veteran is right; the perverted ones likely have accomplices, many shielding them—we mustn’t relent, have to fight to the end!" said an extremely agitated person.
"Alas, what can I say anymore, good people struggle, struggle!" someone remarked dispiritedly.
"I don’t care about others. Anyway, I still say if confronted by such people, such matters, I would definitely intervene, regardless who the opponent is. At worst, getting arrested too, is this something a man should fear?" the speaker said with immense heroism, undoubtedly said beating his chest.
Another uproar occurred; many grew more indignant, cursing some in Black City for turning black white, failing to differentiate right from wrong. Several young people from Black City were equally incensed, even planning to hang banners in front of the Municipal Government, asking leaders to explain why the matter turned out this way. Isn’t this tarnishing the city’s image, forcing all city residents to bear this disgrace?
In the future, going to other provinces and places, would they dare say they’re from Black City? However, why are you doing this, committing evil, why let others take the blame? Are all the leaders blind, not daring to address the matter? Fine, we’ll petition, ask leaders what this means.
