Chapter 1492: Warmhearted
The broadcast announced the flights, Jiang Cheng slowly prepared to go through security and board the plane, but he suddenly detected a strange smell. This scent was quite noticeable. “Alert, alert, tobacco, tobacco!” As Jiang Cheng passed through security, he was startled by the warning, only to realize it was the system alert.
Jiang Cheng scrutinized a few people in Zhou District and noticed their faces were out of sorts. So he silently observed them and discovered that they seemed to have tobacco in their bags.
By the looks of these people, it seemed like they were trying to flee. Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes and stared intently at the tobacco in front of him.
He realized these people had also passed through security, though he couldn’t tell what method was used. But the instant relaxation on their faces drew Jiang Cheng’s attention.
“What’s inside? Why is it so bulging? And, I just smelled something I shouldn’t.” Jiang Cheng pulled aside one person, asking discreetly.
Jiang Cheng deliberately spoke to a suspicious person ahead of him, his voice kept low, since they were at the airport. There were too many people, and he feared provoking these people into causing harm.
He wanted these people to retreat while realizing the difficulties, and when they reached a spacious place, he’d figure out a plan to deal with them.
The person in front seemed to understand something immediately after hearing this. He swiftly took a spring knife out from his pocket, aiming it at Jiang Cheng’s waist.
“Kid, be honest! Or else you’ll regret it,” the man said, feeling Jiang Cheng’s knife-cut-like muscles in a deliberately low voice.
But Jiang Cheng found this utterly disgusting.
“Yes, yes, big brother! I won’t say a word!” Jiang Cheng glimpsed at the person kidnapping him and said immediately.
The person seemed to sense Jiang Cheng’s glance as well and said casually, “I’ll gouge out your eyes.”
Afterward, the man ran off frantically, as if escaping something deadly. Once they were gone, Jiang Cheng hurriedly told the nearby security personnel, “Those twelve are the Ink Vendors! Quick, catch them!”
Without looking back, he rushed out to chase those people.
He refused to let these criminals go; they must pay for their wicked deeds.
“Damn, that guy, a dog’s nose, huh! He knows everything we bring. Hurry, guys, we can’t stay here anymore. Quickly retreat, or else, if someone else discovers us, we’ll be doomed.”
Just now, those people who ran out were beside a car, ready to escape.
As they ran, they cursed Jiang Cheng bitterly in their hearts. Only through this did they feel vented.
“Trying to escape? You guys must be thinking too much. You’ve committed crimes, and I’m telling you, you’ll have to pay the price. Just wait! The team will arrive soon, don’t think about running away. Surrender now, and your punishment might be reduced slightly.”
Jiang Cheng emerged from the corner and lazily spoke to several people. He knew that today, he had to stretch his muscles. He couldn’t turn a blind eye to such matters.
“Bastard, don’t meddle in our business! You don’t want to live, do you? If you don’t want to live, we brothers will fulfill your wish. Daring to interfere with our major matter, now we’ll settle old scores together.”
Those people glared at Jiang Cheng viciously, then attacked him as they finished speaking. Each move aimed to kill Jiang Cheng.
Seems like today, I have to exercise my muscles well. Even though I planned to return home, it’s fine, I’ll deal with you first and go home later.
After speaking, Jiang Cheng fearlessly stepped forward, wanting to see what these people could possibly do to him.
He is Jiang Cheng; he wouldn’t let these people threaten him! To him, they were merely small henchmen, unnecessary to give them any regard.
“Looks like you have some skill, fine, brothers, beat him to death, let’s see if he’ll still be arrogant.”
They wrestled together, but soon Jiang Cheng took the upper hand, though dealing with them was somewhat taxing, he didn’t wish to fully unleash his prowess.
He could only stall for time now, waiting for the team to arrive. “I’ll see if you can still boast, brothers, go up, I want this bastard to fly high.” “Bang, bang,” Before finishing, team members showed up and surrounded those people.
“Team, don’t move, all of you raise your hands.”
Seeing the team, those people raised their hands one after another. Jiang Cheng witnessed this and sighed with relief. He finally awaited the team’s arrival. He considered backing down victoriously.
“Comrade, today, thank you very much. Look, some reporter friends over there want to interview you. Can you see if you’re available?”
Reporters from the airport quickly flew in upon hearing about the incident, eager to inquire and interview Jiang Cheng.
“No need, I’m in a hurry. I believe anyone would act the same in such situations. Sorry, my boarding time has arrived, I’m off.”
Jiang Cheng didn’t think for a moment, he turned and left directly. He didn’t want to create more trouble for himself.
He preferred fewer disturbances than more. Soon, Jiang Cheng arrived home.
“Finally here, a golden nest or silver nest, nothing beats one’s own dog nest. Home is far more comfortable! Packing up, and after a comfortable sleep, everything will have passed, all will be good.”
Talking to himself, he began organizing his things. After being away for many days, the house had been regularly tidied by someone but remained uninhabited. The tables and cupboards were rather dusty. After Jiang Cheng cleaned thoroughly, it was already quite late.
Jiang Cheng gazed at his fine work with delight. Before long, he was fatigued and fell asleep deeply.
During the night, as Jiang Cheng slept soundly, the door was unexpectedly opened.
“Jiang Cheng, it was you who ruined our plan and caused so many of our brothers to be imprisoned. Today, I’ll avenge them. Die!”
In the darkness, someone holding a knife glared maliciously at Jiang Cheng before lunging toward him.
“Ah.”
A shout came from the room, but it wasn’t Jiang Cheng’s—the moment at the door he sensed something was amiss.
So he quickly got up, kicking that person onto the bed while they stabbed down, then harshly restrained them.
“Dare to rob me? Don’t think I won’t send you to jail, thinking little of me! Get going.”
After speaking, he handed that person to the team. Initially, he thought the person was merely a burglar.
But after the team interrogated, they realized the person was one of the accomplices left behind by the Ink Vendors. Their companion was imprisoned due to Jiang Cheng.
Thus, he followed Jiang Cheng all the way, looking for a chance to kill him, but was easily subdued by Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng looked at the so-called thief and couldn’t help but sigh, grateful for his vigilance; otherwise, tonight could’ve turned disastrous. He really had to be careful.
If similar situations arose, it would likely be him suffering. He couldn’t afford complacency.
Jiang Cheng noticed the team members being dazed; seeing the team waving hands, he reluctantly agreed.
Jiang Cheng glanced at the team, smiling warmly, which unexpectedly made him happy.
