Chapter 1626 - 1594: Golden Armor War God

What kind of move is this?

Not only were the Wuheng Clan's chief and others dumbfounded, but even Yang Xiao was somewhat puzzled.

There were many people present who recognized Zhuo Xiaozhen, after all, she was Wu Dai's wife.

Wu Dai was once a prominent figure in the Wuheng Clan.

The Clan Leader glanced at Zhuo Xiaozhen, who was kneeling on the ground, and then at Yang Xiao.

Regarding the personal grievances between Wu Dai and the Black Dragon, the Clan Leader felt somewhat helpless.

Whether it was Wu Dai or the Black Dragon, they both represented a different part of the Wuheng Clan's strength; both were powerful, which the Clan Leader was unwilling to see.

Back then, when Wu Dai was powerful, the Clan Leader used the excuse of participating in the Witch Star war to dispatch Wu Dai to lead 20,000 warriors from the clan to the expedition.

It was foreseeable that Wu Dai would die outside.

What the Wuheng Clan's chief did not expect was that after Wu Dai died, the Black Dragon rose to power, each causing a bigger headache than the last.

The Black Dragon found various excuses to frame Wu Dai's family and clan members; the Clan Leader wasn't ignorant of this, but he did not intervene to stop it.

Within a tribe of tens of millions, there are always many grievances and factions; sometimes it's hard to achieve fairness and justice, and decisions can only be made based on one's own position.

Yang Xiao said:

"Wu Dai was my close friend. Now that Wu Dai is gone, I have the responsibility and duty to take care of his family. It was only recently that I learned of the Wudai family's misfortune, so I specifically rushed over.

Clan Leader, I heard that Wu Dai's son and a dozen men from the clan have been imprisoned. Now the truth has come to light; indeed, it was the Black Dragon who framed Wu Dai's family.

Wu Dai was once a backbone of the clan and should have made significant contributions. Could you consider releasing his clan members in light of his previous contributions?"

Now there was silence.

The Clan Leader of the Wuheng Clan looked at Yang Xiao again, then at Zhuo Xiaozhen, who was kneeling on the ground, and sighed deeply, saying:

"Alas, Wu Dai indeed made mistakes back then, but of course, the Black Dragon also used some tricks to exaggerate Wu Dai's faults without my knowledge. We did impose heavy penalties on the Wudai family,

Now that the Black Dragon is also dead, and Wu Dai's family has suffered punishment over the past two years, I think it's time for everything to come to an end,"

The Clan Leader finished, glanced at the dozens of clan elders and high-ranking members beside him, and asked:

"What are your opinions?"

"Clan Leader, your wisdom is truly astounding. What you said just now is very right. The Black Dragon was always arrogant and ruthless, dealing with his opponents severely. Wu Dai was once his greatest opponent, which is why he framed Wu Dai's family after his death.

The Black Dragon is now dead; it's appropriate to lift the punishment on the Wudai family."

"That's correct, the Black Dragon indeed went too far, and we should also give an explanation to Wu Dai's family."

...

Most people around were in favor of lifting the punishment on the Wudai family.

Of course, if Yang Xiao's formidable presence wasn't there, they wouldn't have supported the cancellation of the Wudai family's punishment so enthusiastically.

Many still wanted to give face to Yang Xiao, given his special status — not only is he a Divine Hall Elder, but also the son-in-law of Thanos Saint. Such a strong connection is hard to ignore!

The Clan Leader was also happy to do a favor effortlessly; after all, the Wudai family couldn't stir up much trouble anymore, so he said:

"Alright, I command that due to the Black Dragon's abuse of power, deceit, tyranny, and harm to loyal members of the clan, all honors and powers of the Black Dragon Family will be revoked. Seize all their wealth, imprison all males over fifteen years old, and exile women and children to frontier cold regions to do hard labor,"

The Clan Leader glanced at Zhuo Xiaozhen once more. He believed further caution was needed, not wanting another friend like Yang Xiao to come to the aid of the Black Dragon Family.

"Wu Dai made contributions in the Witch Star expedition and had once rendered many services to the Wuheng Clan. Now, all charges against Wu Dai are revoked, imprisoned male clan members are released, Wu Dai's honor is restored, and confiscated properties are returned."

Zhuo Xiaozhen and her family, upon hearing this, were overwhelmed with mixed emotions; they hurriedly kowtowed to the Clan Leader, expressing their gratitude amid their sobs.

This vindication was hard-earned and wholly unexpected.

Life is always so unpredictable, one moment in heaven, the next in hell, and then rising back to heaven again.

The Clan Leader said to Yang Xiao:

"Brother Yang, do you think my resolution is fair?"

Yang Xiao immediately said:

"This is an internal affair of your Wuheng Clan; I'm just an outsider with no right to comment.

However, the Clan Leader's wisdom and kindness will undoubtedly garner the support and love of the entire tribe,

Of course, as Wu Dai's friend, I am grateful to you. Should you need Yang Xiao's help in the future, feel free to ask."

Yang Xiao ultimately sold the Clan Leader a favor, offering a blank check.

He believed that the Clan Leader and the present Wuheng Clan elders and high-ranking members were all expecting this statement from him.

Though these words may seem meaningless now, in critical times, when the Wuheng Clan faces life and death crises, it might well be that Yang Xiao's promise today could turn the tide.

Everything ended very satisfactorily; even Yang Xiao found it somewhat surprising.

In fact, the biggest beneficiary of this unexpected turn was neither Wu Dai's family nor Yang Xiao, but the Clan Leader of the Wuheng Clan. He never expected that a lingering issue in his heart would be inexplicably resolved by Brother Yang's intervention.

The Clan Leader felt delighted!

Not only the Clan Leader, but most of the clan elders and high-ranking members were pleased as well. With the Black Dragon dead, a large power vacuum was left behind. Just the general forces he controlled was a huge piece of meat, and most of these people could now get a share of the benefits.
