Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1140 - 1140: Red String of Fate

“So, this is the land…” Bella looked around. “There shouldn’t be anyone around here.”

The coast was no different from what they had on their continent. There was sand and grass, but there were no structures or any trace of humans around the area.

Considering they were quite far from the harbor that became the border between the two territories, it wasn’t surprising to find this deserted place.

It was fortunate for them because they had more time to prepare before going their own ways.

“Yeah. I don’t detect any presence, but I will scout the area to make sure of it.” Sonia disappeared into the shadows, searching for any clues right away.

Evelyn was staring at Nathan as if she were trying to judge his decision. She asked, “So, where are we supposed to have a ‘date’?”

“Oh my. Are you that eager for our date?” was what Nathan wanted to say, but it felt like Evelyn would smack him if he continued joking around. So, Nathan summoned Mae and asked, “Mae. Can you divine the fortune?”

“Hmm? I have told you before, Master. I can’t read your fortune.” Mae shook her head.

“No. Not me.” Nathan pointed at Evelyn.

“!!!” Both Evelyn and Mae looked surprised.

Mae was a bit hesitant, but she asked, “If I read your fortune, it might affect your karma and life force.”

“If that is necessary, I’m willing to cooperate.” Evelyn nodded without hesitation. “What am I supposed to do?”

“I will need your blood essence. I can perform everything by myself as long as I receive your full cooperation.”

“Understood.” Evelyn wanted to see what Nathan was planning to do.

“Please give me your hand.”

Once Evelyn extended her hand, Mae cut Evelyn’s palm with her nail and channeled her ena into her arm. This way, the blood didn’t leak out of the wound.

Her energy seeped into Evelyn’s heart. Evelyn could feel that something was draining from within her body. It made her body feel quite heavy, but it wasn’t anything too alarming.

Mae guided the blood to flow toward the wound. A droplet formed as Mae picked the droplet and let it remain floating above her palm.

“I feel like something is draining…” Evelyn squinted her eyes.

“I’m using your life force to calculate your destiny. If I use this on the same person multiple times, it will not only destroy one person’s karma, but it will also suck them dry. So, it’s not something I can do lightly,” explained Mae.

She then lifted up the blood and joined her hands together before raising her forefingers and middle fingers at the same time.

“Destiny Glass. Open!”

The blood expanded and turned into a translucent red glass. The red glass moved to the top of Evelyn’s head.

All of a sudden, everyone who saw the glass found threads emerging from Evelyn’s head. Among those seven threads, one was red, two were gold, and four were white.

“Oh?” Vivian widened her eyes in surprise. She had a fortune teller as an acquaintance, so it was surprising that there was another way of fortune telling.

“I have always been wondering if a certain fortune teller could actually see my fortune…” Nathan squinted his eyes.

“There’s no way someone can read you, Master. However, I have already explained it before. Your luck is easy to see because there’s a mysterious power manipulating it, but that’s all. There’s nothing you can see beyond that because your karma is too bright, which makes it blinding to see the threads of fate.”

“So…” Nathan pointed up. “Can you explain these threads?”

“Yes.” Mae nodded. “The one with the highest number is the thread of misfortune. It’s surprising that there are so many of them at once. Usually, it will be only one or two.

“However, these threads are mostly going to the west. As long as you are not going there, the chance of encountering it will go down significantly.

“Meanwhile, the two golden threads are the fated encounters. If you are able to encounter the person at the end of this thread, you will be able to find a big opportunity. And it’s going southeast.

“However, this is quite rare. Opportunities like this shouldn’t appear easily. Even if we read your fortune before going across the sea, you won’t find Cthulhu as your fated encounter because he’s there for a mission, not as your opportunity.

“These fated encounters will bring you good fortune, but what’s even more surprising is that these two golden threads are entangling with each other.

“If you see the white threads, only two of them are entangled with each other, while the other two are free.”

Evelyn nodded in agreement. “So, I will have to go to the southeast…”

“Yes.”

“In that case, what is this red thread?” Bella asked, curious.

“That’s…” Mae paused, looking hesitant.

“What’s wrong? Is it something bad?” Evelyn frowned.

“It can be bad. It can be good. It depends on how you view it…” Mae smiled wryly.

“…” Nathan looked away as if he recalled this piece of information.

“Then tell me what it is. It’s better to know it than to become curious about it.” Evelyn gave her permission.

Although Mae was still hesitant, she controlled the red glass and moved it down, positioning it between her and Nathan.

As a result, they could see the true appearance of the thread. The thread emerged from the ring finger of Evelyn and flowed through the red glass and ultimately formed a knot on Nathan’s ring finger.

The people dropped their jaws. There was no need for an explanation.

The reason Nathan looked away was because he had heard of this red string of fate, which meant soulmates.

“Don’t tell me…”

“This is…”

“Wow!”

The people were amazed. They never thought they would see such a thing.

However, Evelyn suddenly gathered her power and punched the red glass with all her might and actually shattered it into pieces.

“All of you saw nothing!” Evelyn breathed heavily as she glared at them. But there was no way to convince them with a face as red as a tomato.
