Sugar Daddy System: Starting With The Goddess Next Door
Chapter 35: Need To Speed Up The Writing Progress
Sachiko didn’t know many rich people.
After all, her education level wasn’t high, and the jobs she had done were all basic, bottom-rung jobs in society.
Kitahara Chiki was one of the few high-quality men she knew.
A writer, rich, and still young.
Mm, and reportedly quite strong too.
Even setting aside the generous bonus, she wanted to have some interaction with Kitahara.
Although it was a pity she couldn’t be as lucky as Rina-nee and live with him, even a brief possession would make for beautiful memories, wouldn’t it?
The more Sachiko thought about it, the more curious she became about him.
She had heard a little about Kitahara from Rina, but those words alone weren’t enough to satisfy her curiosity.
What kind of person was he when he wasn’t writing?
Was he always so generous? And was he really as strong as the rumors said?
Sachiko couldn’t help but smile slightly at the thought.
She knew that thinking this much about a man she had only met a few times was a little strange, but she didn’t feel particularly guilty about it.
After all, she wasn’t planning anything. She just wanted to know him better.
"Rina-nee, you still haven’t told me — just how impressive is Kitahara-kun?"
"I’m not telling you. Anyway, very impressive. Can’t you see how tired I am today?"
Rina casually brushed off the question, making Sachiko even more curious.
Seeing that she wasn’t going to get an answer, Sachiko could only pout.
She decided that if Rina wouldn’t tell her, she would simply find out for herself.
...
...
At this moment, Kitahara Chiki still didn’t know he had already been marked by someone.
He was currently typing away, continuing to write that book, "Primitive Desire: A Beautiful Girl’s Unforgettable Adventure in the Goblin Cave."
The weekend outing had cost him two days, causing this book’s progress to fall behind.
Wanting to submit the manuscript this week would be tough.
He needed to speed up.
His fingers moved rapidly across the keyboard as one scene after another appeared on the screen.
Actually, at this point, he no longer needed to write this kind of thing at all.
Yesterday alone, he had earned over ten million yen in one go, and from now on he could earn at least that much every month.
Couldn’t spend it all. Simply couldn’t spend it all!
For an ordinary person, earning this much money would probably be enough to completely change their life.
But Kitahara had already passed the stage where money was something he had to worry about.
Even if he stopped working now, he could probably live comfortably for the rest of his life.
But a person had to have dreams, right?
Without dreams, what difference was there from a salted fish?
Kitahara’s dream was to write smut!
Even if it couldn’t be published, even if it didn’t make money, writing it for fun was fine too.
He now had no financial pressure whatsoever.
Writing this stuff actually felt more relaxed, and he wrote it with more interest.
There was no need to worry about whether the story would make enough money to pay the bills.
He could simply write whatever he wanted.
Even he himself thought it was really quite good when he read it!
Mm, if it ever got published and sold well in the future, could influence some Japanese people, and corrupt the social atmosphere here a bit, then that could count as indirect revenge!
There was one more thing.
Rina-nee hoped he would become a great author, so he definitely had to keep writing.
After all, an erotica writer was still a writer.
Could you really say that because the subject matter or style of their works differed, they could be classified into different tiers?
Obviously not!
In the vast, boundless field of literature, everyone who wrote with care and expressed themselves through words should receive respect and recognition.
Whether depicting romantic tales of wind, flowers, snow, and moon, or portraying the bitter, sweet, sour, and spicy of real life; whether using grand narratives to show the magnificent sweep of history, or exploring the subtle depths of human nature through delicate brushstrokes.
All of it was telling life.
And Kitahara believed that as long as he enjoyed writing, there was nothing wrong with continuing.
Kitahara’s book was now about one-third written.
The plot had progressed to the point where the protagonist Kaoru, after getting separated from her companions, had been fighting alone.
Facing the cruel treatment from the goblins all by herself.
After enduring such a nightmarish, agonizing experience, Kaoru thought she would die, but unexpectedly she managed to hold on.
Moreover, deep in her heart, it seemed something had been activated.
She no longer resisted the goblins as much.
How absurd!
Kitahara himself paused for a moment after typing that sentence.
Even he thought the development was somewhat bizarre.
But this kind of story wasn’t supposed to follow ordinary logic.
At this point, Kitahara designed a plot device, adding a scene called "The Dark Lake of the Underground Cave."
The girl Kaoru was brought by a goblin squad to the underground dark lake area.
The enormous underground lake was surrounded by black stone walls, with faint reflections shimmering across the surface of the water.
Here, she reunited with two companions.
The two companions’ experiences were similar to hers, even a bit worse.
Because she hadn’t resisted, she hadn’t been beaten.
That teammate who was the "muscle" was in a worse state, covered in wounds, with one leg crippled.
And the "instigator," Sakura, was also in bad shape.
Her suffering wasn’t from being beaten, but because her endurance was weaker.
Her mind was already on the verge of collapse.
These two had arrived here earlier than Kaoru.
When Kaoru arrived and saw them, she saw how utterly pitiful they were.
For a moment, she couldn’t even recognize them.
The strong and lively companion she remembered was now barely able to stand.
Sakura, who had always been the one giving orders, was sitting motionlessly nearby, her eyes empty.
Seeing this, kind-hearted as she was, Kaoru immediately felt a sharp pain in her heart.
She knew that if things continued like this, neither of them would be able to endure much longer.
In order to save her two good friends and let them suffer less torment, she gathered whatever courage she had left and shouted:
"Stop! Please, aim it all at me!"
Kitahara stared at the screen for a few seconds.
Then he nodded in satisfaction.
This scene was exactly what he wanted.
Kaoru had changed.
She was still afraid, still terrified, and still wanted to survive.
But somewhere along the way, she had begun to care more about the people beside her than about herself.
That was the kind of contradiction he wanted to portray.
Kitahara leaned back in his chair and stretched.
Writing really was interesting. No matter how much money he had, this feeling couldn’t be bought. For now, he would continue writing.
As for what would happen afterward, he would think about it later.
