Chapter 601: Chapter 390: A Living Divine King

[Update first, edit later. I have too many family matters to attend to and am truly drained, sorry! I’m just posting some scrapped drafts from a few years ago for fun.]

The boundless universe was vast and endless.

Mecha, masters, telepaths, Exotic Star civilizations, Starry Giant Beasts...

Lu Lian bore the legacy of the martial civilization, carrying a mysterious Benboba parasitizing his body.

The Benboba could devour matter and energy to grow and undergo Evolution. From a lowly loach transforming into a majestic dragon, everything relied on a single word: "Devour."

When Mecha technology and martial civilization combined, replacing combat programs with supreme martial arts, a brand-new path of martial Mecha was forged.

Who said the end of the martial path was sorrowful? The road ahead held infinite possibilities. A lone martial artist in the Starry Sky, setting forth into the universe!

**Synopsis**

Lu Lian obtained the legacy of the martial civilization and possessed the [Divine Soul Method], with a Benboba residing in his Dantian as his True Astral Body.

Starting from the Earth Yang Star Mecha Academy, Lu Lian awakened the Divine Soul Method, imprinted Core Cards, modified Mecha, and became a renowned Mecha master.

To avenge his father, Lu Lian stood against the Earl’s estate. He eventually brought them down but ended up wanted by the military.

When the Star Thieves attacked, Earth Yang Star was in imminent peril. Lu Lian commanded his Benboba to sweep away the invaders, then retreated after his success, beginning his wandering in the Starry Sky.

The Benboba devoured the universe’s matter and energy, undergoing continuous Evolution. Upon reaching the three-star stage, it became the Incarnation of a cosmic warship.

On Thousand Yang Star, Lu Lian established a base to develop martial Mecha.

When Exotic Star civilizations invaded, martial Mecha shone brilliantly. Lu Lian walked further and further down the path of martial Mecha...

**Main Text: The End of the Martial Path**

Dark clouds covered the sky, streaks of lightning surged, and burning meteorites continuously plummeted as an Earthquake violently shook the ground.

The apocalypse had arrived. A world was on the verge of collapse.

A modest mountain peak seemed to stand as the final spine of this world, its slopes crowded with densely packed figures sitting cross-legged.

Among those figures, some carried Treasure Swords on their backs, and some wore bloodstained Battle Armor. Some were white-haired elders, while others were still young and tender...

They all gazed up at the sky in total silence. There was no fear in their eyes—only indignation, fury, and absolute resolve.

At the summit, a disheveled elder with bleeding eyes suddenly threw his head back and laughed aloud. "I have seen it!" he cried. "The path forward for martial arts!"

The elder’s voice seemed to possess a powerful Magic Power, drowning out the roaring thunder and causing everyone on the mountain to shudder.

"The path forward for martial arts!"

"Our generation’s pursuit!"

"If we learn the true Path in the morning, we may die without regrets by nightfall!"

"Martial arts will not perish, and our legacy will not end! We die without regrets!"

"Without regrets..."

One by one, the people stood up. With smiles on their faces, they slowly raised their weapons. They were impassioned, fearless, and treated death as nothing more than returning home.

White light began to radiate from the disheveled elder as he unleashed his Will. Following suit, the crowd on the mountain also began to glow with white light.

In the end, everyone on the mountain lost their physical bodies. They all transformed into radiant white light, which coalesced into a single blinding sword.

"The end of the martial path is not sorrowful! Take our legacy, take our civilization, and take the path I have seen! Go! I believe that one day, the martial civilization will rise again in the Starry Sky, more glorious than ever before!"

"Martial arts... will never perish!"

The resolute voices echoed throughout the heavens and the earth as the Light Saber violently pierced into the firmament.

"ROAR!"

A tortured howl echoed from behind the thick dark clouds, as if some gargantuan beast had been wounded.

Following that, lightning flashed and thunder rolled. Pitch-black spatial rifts began to appear, causing this world to rapidly collapse.

On this day, the martial civilization was annihilated, and every Martial Cultivator... died in battle.

**01 Benboba**

"I’m incredibly lucky! To think my randomly matched teammate is Xia Mengchu!" Lu Lian thought.

He sat cross-legged with his eyes slightly closed, looking as serene as an old monk in meditation, but his heart was anything but calm.

Who was Xia Mengchu? She was the top student of the Mecha department this year, ranking eighth on the academy’s Rising Star Leaderboard. With her peerless elegance, she was the Mecha Goddess in the hearts of countless young men!

In the Earth Yang Star Mecha Academy, her suitors could easily form a reinforced company. Rumor had it that even some Instructors had shamelessly become her fans.

But now, this Mecha Goddess was Lu Lian’s teammate. The two of them were alone together, and according to the assessment task assigned by the academy, they would likely have to trek on foot through this Ancient Battle Wasteland for at least seven days.

"How thrilling! Countless people would kill for an opportunity like this," Lu Lian thought secretly, stealthily cracking his eyelids open.

He and Xia Mengchu had just been dropped from an airship not long ago, and they were surrounded by a desolate wilderness. Xia Mengchu wore a silver combat suit. She was tall, had her hair tied in a high ponytail, and possessed a pair of sharp, heroic eyebrows. At this moment, she was standing with her arms crossed, staring right at him.

The moment he met Xia Mengchu’s gaze, Lu Lian hastily squeezed his eyes shut. He had only taken a quick peek, yet he was caught red-handed.

"Lu Lian, a student of the Martial Arts department, ranked 13,652nd on the Rising Star Leaderboard—dead last in the entire school. Am I right?" Xia Mengchu said indifferently, her tone naturally aloof and cold.

"That’s right, that’s me. I didn’t expect the top student to actually know my rank. It’s a pleasure to team up with you." Lu Lian scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

Since he had been caught peeping, he decided to just go for broke, openly sizing Xia Mengchu up.

Sure enough, Xia Mengchu was breathtakingly beautiful. What made her stand out was her heroic aura; she looked like an ethereal fairy unblemished by the mortal world, yet simultaneously possessed the valiant bearing of a battlefield heroine.

"She truly lives up to her title as the Mecha Goddess. No wonder so many people are obsessed with her. Even with a Will as firm as mine, I was almost swayed," Lu Lian marveled inwardly.

Xia Mengchu narrowed her eyes slightly and asked, "What are you doing? Cultivating Inner Strength?"

"Inner Strength? That’s the stuff of legends..." Lu Lian shook his head. He certainly didn’t have the capability for Inner Strength Cultivation. The real reason he was sitting cross-legged like this was that his old chronic illness had flared up again.
