STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 1126: Part 1: Against a Tier-7 and Tier-8 Beast

  • Next Chapter

Wilderness (Special Base)

A bluish-white starlight butterfly was facing the Tier-8 hybrid bird beast.

Swoosh!

The curiosity faded quickly. The hybrid bird beast made a sudden dash, its massive claws about to catch the butterfly beast.

The six-winged butterfly stayed in one spot. The eyes of the Tier-8 bird beast locked on. Seeing that the small beast was not trying to escape, it made a move to catch it.

Swoosh!

Just before the massive claws could catch the small beast, the six-winged butterfly vanished from the spot and reappeared a few meters to the side.

Screech!

The Tier-8 bird beast was stunned. It shrieked, feeling challenged.

As time went by, the beast repeatedly tried to catch the small creature with its claws. Stella, on the other hand, evaded every attack with great ease.

The presence of the Tier-8 beast did not affect her at all.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night reached the location using Feathered Steps. It was already noon, and he was deep inside the uncharted regions of the unknown land.

He channeled his vision power and began to scan the area. He felt a strong connection to Stella. She was here.

Boom!

Then, he heard a faint booming sound echoing from above. Hearing that, his heart skipped a beat. He raised his head and looked toward the sky.

He saw two dots at high altitude.

He felt a heavy jolt in his chest as a strong resonance reached him from the sky, making his heart race.

"Who is she fighting?" Jeremy muttered to himself.

He could see the two silhouettes clearly: one was massive, while the other was small. He could tell the smaller dot was his bonded life beast, and the larger one was a corrupted beast.

The last thing he wanted to face was an aerial avian beast, but he hadn’t expected to encounter one right after Stella emerged outside.

He stood on the ground and continued gazing upward.

At first, he had been clueless, but after watching for a few minutes, he could tell Stella was holding her own.

She was unhurt. Still, he knew nothing about the true strength of an aerial corrupted beast.

For the time being, he relaxed slightly and tried to steady his racing pulse, though he could still feel the restless energy surging through his cells. They were primed for a breakthrough.

Boom!

Just then, heavy thuds reverberated through the ground, footsteps typical of corrupted beasts.

His thoughts snapped back to reality. He looked in the direction of the noise and immediately spread his mental perception outward.

Swoosh!

His mental power enveloped the surrounding area in the blink of an eye. He detected a Tier-7 black panther with a shoulder height of over five meters approaching.

Nearby stood a massive canopy tree, rising over twenty feet tall. When his gaze fell upon it, shock rippled through him.

He hadn’t noticed the towering tree earlier because of the dense, overgrown vegetation, nor had he paid much attention to his surroundings.

Now that he saw the grand shade tree, he felt an instinctive pull toward it. He focused his vision to zoom in.

Beneath the canopy, scattered across the ground, lay multicolored fruits. His heart skipped another beat.

He immediately recognized them as natural treasures.

The Tier-7 black panther was currently going toward the tree, its eyes locked onto the glowing fruits. It clearly intended to devour the energy-rich harvest.

Swoosh!

The next moment, Jeremy executed his movement technique to rush forward, deliberately holding back his burst speed ability.

To bring down a Tier-7 black panther, he would have to go all out.

Roar!

The black panther let out a deafening roar as it spotted the human beast tamer ahead, visibly taken aback.

This unknown territory belonged to the corrupted beasts; they held absolute dominion here. Even high-tier human beast tamers avoided trespassing into these depths.

Yet a weak human had appeared before it. The panther assumed the intruder had stumbled in by mistake.

Roar!

It unleashed another thunderous roar, projecting the full weight of its Tier-7 coercion outward.

Jeremy pushed forward regardless. He had anticipated a physical claw strike, not a sudden sonic shockwave laced with aura.

A sense of imminent danger gripped him. He could manage the aura of a Tier-6 beast, but Tier-7 pressure was potent enough to cause internal trauma.

Boom!

He braced himself against the suffocating force bearing down on him.

His movements grew sluggish, and a sharp ache flared within his internal organs. He lowered his center of gravity to endure the onslaught.

This Tier-7 beast was three whole tiers above him. Back when he was only a Tier-3 beast tamer, he would have retreated without hesitation.

However, since advancing to Tier-4, his constitution had strengthened drastically.

His physique could now withstand the passive aura of a Tier-7 corrupted beast.

Though this particular panther was nearing its peak and stood on the verge of breaking through to Tier-8, explaining its intense craving for the natural treasures.

Roar!

Annoyed that the human hadn’t collapsed, the Tier-7 black panther pounced.

Its colossal frame vaulted forward, bringing massive claws down in a sweeping strike. It was a casual swipe; the beast did not consider a Tier-4 beast tamer a genuine threat.

Yet this was the precise opening Jeremy had been waiting for. When the beast leaped to attack, the oppressive aura pinning him down momentarily dispersed.

He unsheathed his blade, channeling starlight energy along the edge until it gleamed with brilliant white luminescence.

Jeremy gripped the hilt firmly. Under the acute pressure of the life-and-death clash, his senses heightened exponentially.

The world around him seemed to slow to a crawl. Using his enhanced vision, he pinpointed a vulnerable seam along the beast’s exposed flank.

Swoosh!

As the beast landed directly before him, claws inches from his skull, Jeremy activated his burst speed ability.

Swoosh!

He vanished from the spot, slipping past the strike and slashing upward into the panther’s flank.

Slash!

The starlight-infused edge cleaved deep into the beast’s side. As Jeremy dashed clean through to the other side, a long trail of crimson split open across the massive beast’s flesh.
