STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 1104: The Elders’ Reprimand
Special Base (4th Zone)
Jeremy Night returned to his room a few minutes later. He shut the door and lay down on the sofa. He closed his eyes and began to rest, wanting to completely forget the incident.
Otherwise, it would disturb him.
Stella had watched the whole episode. She was furious after seeing Jeremy Night being cornered. If not for Jeremy’s orders, she would have attacked them.
Meanwhile,
The news reached the ears of Elder Sandra and the other elders. All of them were inside the meeting hall. The four Tier-7 Beast Tamers stood in front of them, their heads lowered.
Elder John was present among them as well. He was angry in his heart because he had seen right through the ploy of these members. They had influential backgrounds, but Jeremy Night did not.
If the young man had attacked them out of anger, their families would have rallied together in their support. Then, things would have become difficult not just for the young man, but for the elders as well.
If others saw the elders supporting Jeremy Night against them, it could be seen as biased, as every supporter of the young man here held an official position. Even Elder Sandra would have been silenced.
Elder Sandra swept her gaze across the room, watching the elders’ reactions as well as the expressions of the four members.
"Fortunately, a few of you arrived in time to stop the nonsense," Elder Sandra said in a cold tone.
Silence filled the hall.
The members did not raise their heads to meet her gaze. Earlier, they were arrogant and confident, but now they stood mute.
The heavily built, middle-aged man and the other three strongly felt the piercing gaze of the elders. They were beginning to realize the seriousness of the matter.
The three friends looked at their heavily built companion with anger. They had tried to stop him, but he had given in to the crowd’s provocation.
Elder Sandra’s gaze then settled on the four members-especially the heavily built, middle-aged man. Her eyes were icy.
The heavily built, middle-aged man was startled. He wouldn’t be surprised if he received severe punishment. He began to regret his actions, but it was already too late.
Elder Sandra casually took out her device and started watching the footage in front of the other elders. She watched the scene where Jeremy Night effortlessly evaded the grab and slipped away from his attackers.
The elders in the room were taken aback. Elder Leah, Elder Smith, and Elder Carter were there as well. Among them, Elder Leah and Elder Smith had interacted with Jeremy Night the most.
When they had first heard the news, they were extremely worried. But when the footage began to circulate and they watched it, they realized they had worried for nothing.
They had underestimated the young man. He had always been this strong. Even during his Tier-3 stage, he had fought across tiers, having slain many Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts.
Now that he was Tier-4, the general assumption was that he could probably handle a Tier-6 beast. However, seeing that he could dodge and evade a Tier-7 Beast Tamer showed that his true combat strength was far greater than what he let on.
"The Supreme Combat Body Talent is truly terrifying. And that is only an A-grade. I wonder what kind of combat power an S-grade talent would possess," she commented.
She deduced that Jeremy Night had used his talent. At close quarters, it was lethal, so after understanding what had happened, she was no longer surprised. She put away the device and turned toward the four members.
"You did this deliberately, despite knowing you were inside the special base camp. I can’t imagine what you would have done in the wilderness, you likely would have unleashed Tier-7 Lifeline Beasts against a Tier-4 Beast Tamer," she said coldly.
Hearing that, the faces of the four members shifted dramatically.
"No, we wouldn’t attack a kid!"
"We just wanted to intimidate him!"
"Moore just got swept up by the crowd. Otherwise, we would have left the place shortly."
One by one, the three members voiced their excuses.
"I was reckless," the heavily built, middle-aged man admitted.
The other elders in the room listened, each wearing a different expression. Elder Leah felt a flicker of anger; she couldn’t understand how these people could be so foolish.
Elder Carter shook his head, glad that nothing had happened to Jeremy Night. He could tell that Elder John was ready to make trouble for the families backing the offenders.
Elder John spoke up: "They should be given an appropriate punishment."
Gasp!
A collective gasp echoed through the room.
The elders present were all surprised. They hadn’t expected Elder John to speak up, as elders rarely interfered in matters like this.
They looked toward Elder John in astonishment.
Elder Leah raised her eyebrows in surprise. She hadn’t expected him to comment given his official position.
Elder Smith, however, was not surprised. He knew Elder John was betting on the young man’s future, believing that Jeremy would definitely become a Tier-9 Beast Tamer.
Otherwise, there would be no reason for a Tier-8 Beast Tamer like Elder John to back the young man so heavily.
Elder Carter’s mouth curved into a faint smile.
He had known this beforehand; Elder John was the main reason he had stopped acting against the young man himself, as he otherwise would have continued seeking the support of the Tier-4 families.
The faces of the four Tier-7 Beast Tamers paled.
"Elder, how can you say that? We are members of the special base as well," one of them protested. The heavily built man and the other two turned toward Elder John in disbelief.
Upon hearing this, Elder John’s gaze sharpened.
"The special base is a place for the Human Alliance to develop the next generation of warriors," he said. "It is not a place for raising criminals."
Everyone fell silent. The words struck hard.
The heavily built, middle-aged man lowered his head. "It’s my fault. I should have listened to them. I lost my mind for a moment."
Hearing that, Elder Sandra said, "Alright. All of you will spend a week in the City A wilderness. Things have been getting problematic out there."
