Beast Taming Association

The next morning, Jeremy Night came to the association to continue his practice. There were only two days left before the week’s end.

After that, he had to go back to the special base. As he stepped inside the building, he was greeted by many eyes.

During the time he spent here, the number of eyes had increased day by day. It was the same today as well.

Jeremy Night didn’t shy away from meeting their gazes. He looked around at everyone before nodding at the admin staff.

They smiled at him in response because they knew his real identity. He then walked toward the elevator to go to the special practice room.

Gasp!

A low exclamation rang out because they knew where the Tier-3 Beast Tamer was going.

The special practice room was something that was not affordable even to them.

Beast Tamers from Tier-5 to Tier-6 groups were here. Some of them turned to the admin staff.

"Who is he?"

"How does he get to use the special practice room?" one of the Tier-6 Beast Tamers asked.

"Yeah, we have the same question. Is someone else using their credits on this Tier-3 Beast Tamer?"

"We want to know. What’s going on here?"

One by one, the Beast Tamers started raising questions.

They felt that the admin staff knew the truth, but they were not giving them any answers.

The staff were looking at each other’s faces. They could not divulge the information; it was something instructed by the manager.

That young man was here for one week. They had to control the situation until then. The staff continued to stay quiet.

It made the Beast Tamers more frustrated. They understood that the staff might not be allowed to tell them.

The background behind the golden card could be significant, so they dropped the matter. The Beast Tamers then left the place in disappointment.

Once they had gone, the faces of the admin staff shifted dramatically. They believed things were getting out of hand.

Fortunately, there were only two days left. After that, the young man, Jeremy, would leave for the special base. Then normalcy would return to the place.

Until then, they had to maintain the peace. So the staff decided to endure until then. Obviously, the Beast Tamers could not resort to violence on their own premises.

Meanwhile,

Natural energy began to fill the special practice room. The natural energy was rich and dense. Jeremy Night immediately entered a practice state.

Buzz!

Stella began to actively absorb more natural energy.

...

City Lord’s Office

A middle-aged woman dressed in a tuxedo was seated behind the desk. She was one of the governors of the city. Her name was Evelina.

She was also the only Tier-9 Beast Tamer who was a governor in this city.

Right now, she was going through the reports. Several hotspots infested with corrupted beasts had become active again.

These were all typical signs before a Beast Invasion occurred. Whenever it happened, she usually sent Beast Tamers to handle the situation.

So she immediately issued a notification to the Beast Taming Organisation in the city. They had to send their Beast Taming teams to these hotspots to reduce the number of corrupted beasts.

Soon, the notification was issued to the media as well. They had to monitor the hotspots from time to time.

The actual land size of the wilderness around City A was triple the size of the special base’s wilderness. There was also unknown land beyond the border stretch.

Since the wilderness was huge, the city’s Beast Tamers had enough time to monitor the situation. They would notice any change in the situation and respond faster.

The hotspots were located in the core areas across the wilderness. The Beast Taming Organisation and the families immediately took action upon the statement.

They instructed their teams to enter the wilderness immediately. The teams from Central University 4 quickly left for the mission.

It was the same case with the Beast Taming Association. The Beast Taming groups that were training inside the facility received the news as well.

For them, it was time to earn resources from the hotspots’ crisis. They left the Beast Taming Association immediately.

The admin staff who received the news sighed in relief. For them, it was great news. Once the Beast Tamers entered the wilderness, the place would become less crowded.

Then they wouldn’t have to feel troubled for the next two days.

Meanwhile,

The Beast Tamers were leaving through the three main gates one by one. The gates were located at the front, left, and right sides of the city wall relative to the City Lord’s office.

City A was huge, with a population in the millions, so it had three official main gates. The hotspots were spread across the core areas.

One could reach the core areas from these three main gates. City Governor Evelina stepped onto the balcony.

She saw the Beast Tamers exiting through the main gate and nodded. She thought that the operation would be over in a few days.

Swoosh!

Two more figures appeared next to her. They were middle-aged men, the other two City Governors, Corvin and Garran. Both of them were Tier-8 Beast Tamers.

"We have instructed the heads of the various forces, including the head of the Beast Taming Association and the Dean of Central University."

"If a Tier-9 Beast appears at the border, we will know," Corvin said.

Garran said, "Last time, a Tier-9 Hybrid Tiger tried to command other beasts to attack the city. This time, I’m expecting the same."

Hearing that, Evelina’s expression shifted dramatically.

Tier-9 Beasts were hard for any human zone to deal with. Their attacks could easily end the lives of thousands.

"If it appears, report to me," Evelina said to them before returning to her office.

Corvin and Garran nodded to each other before leaving.

Time passed.

That midnight, Jeremy Night exited the special practice room. When he came to the lobby, he saw that the place was quiet.

He swept his gaze across the area and saw no one. He raised his eyebrows. Usually, he saw a few people coming and going from the building.

The place stayed open day and night. He didn’t know what had happened. He then looked toward the help desk.

There was no staff. He shook his head. He had only one day left tomorrow. He decided to rest before coming back the next morning.

He exited the building and came out to the street. He saw that the place was less crowded as well. He understood he had missed something.

He eventually found a cab, hopped inside, and gave his destination to the driver.

The driver started heading toward the destination. The cab moved through mid-air at a safe speed, but the driver had some doubts.

He had seen the customer coming out from the Beast Taming Association. He wanted to know why he hadn’t gone to the wilderness.

Jeremy Night was watching the street’s night lights. Suddenly, he noticed the driver’s gaze. He felt there was something on the driver’s mind.

"What happened?"

"Do you have something to ask?" Jeremy Night asked.

The driver was stunned by the sudden question. Then he nodded.

"Young man, I see you are a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. Maybe getting closer to Tier-4. I’m sure you are allowed to enter the wilderness. So what are you doing here?"

"Are you injured or what?" the driver asked.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night was surprised.

"Actually, I’m new to the city. I’m here on a short stay. My visit will end tomorrow, so I don’t know what’s going on here," Jeremy replied.

Hearing that, the driver’s eyes flashed with understanding.

"Now I understand. It was my mistake. I apologise," the driver said.

"It’s okay. So what’s going on out there?" Jeremy Night asked.

Jeremy Night grew curious. It was only his second visit to the city. Last time, he had come with Head Harold, and it was a different experience back then.

He hadn’t had time to think about the situation in the wilderness here.

The driver got serious and said, "It’s a threat we face from the Tier-9 Beasts. When they try to enter the wilderness here, they first command the lower-tier beasts to gather in numbers to attack the Beast Tamers."

"When they gather in large numbers, we call those places hotspots. The Beast Tamers were dispatched to disrupt the gathering and kill the corrupted beasts," the driver added.

Jeremy Night was surprised. He understood that the situation of every human zone and its cities was different.

He thought that was the case here. He was interested, but he had to go back. He had work to do at the special base.

If possible, he would like to explore the wilderness here. Soon, the cab reached the Sunset Hotel.

A few minutes later,

Jeremy Night stepped out of the cab and paid the fare to the driver. He then thanked him for the information before going inside the hotel.
