Dave’s Lab

Old man Dave turned around and saw the reactions. He thought that Elder John was impressed with his work. It brought him relief.

It also showed that his device was working. But he noticed one other thing. He saw Elder John speaking to the young man.

He thought Elder John was appreciating the young man. He raised his eyebrows in confusion. He then noticed Elder John gesturing for him to show the footage.

Old man Dave nodded his head. Next, he connected the cable to another device. He did some work on the device. Next, a video started playing on the device and the big screen.

It was the video of the recording. It showed Jeremy Night’s point of view. It showed Jeremy Night exploring the path in the sunken land.

It was the pathway closer to the southeastern border.

Old man Dave began to watch the footage with interested eyes. Outside, Elder John’s eyes were glued to the big screen.

Jeremy Night wondered whether anything was accidentally captured. He didn’t want the footage of the corrupted beasts to appear.

As the footage went on, his worries were swept away. After the sunken land, the footage of the border stretch began to play. So the hard rock worm beast didn’t appear.

It brought him a sigh of relief. The next second, the footage of the barren land was playing. It showed how Jeremy Night crossed the border.

Elder John nodded his head after seeing the barren land. It was the southeastern border where they had wanted Jeremy Night to explore.

Seeing that it was taking time, he took his device and called Elder Dave. He told him to fast-forward the footage.

Hearing that, Elder Dave did so. Soon, the footage was fast-forwarded. Finally, it showed the scene where Jeremy Night was sitting on the ground, leaning against the bedrock.

John was paying attention. Then the scene was abruptly cut off, and the next second, the border stretch was playing.

"What happened?" John asked.

"It’s the place where I spotted the higher-tier beast," Jeremy replied.

John’s eyes flickered with understanding. He analyzed that Jeremy Night must have walked down half a mile.

If there were higher-tier beasts beyond that, either the corrupted beast was passing through or it had a habitat there.

Not many corrupted beasts lived in the barren land-especially lower- and mid-tier beasts. They wouldn’t get any food there.

So he thought that Jeremy Night’s statement was true. He must have seen the silhouette of the higher-tier beast.

The footage continued to play. Whenever fast-forwarding was needed, Old man Dave did that.

He was shocked as well. He didn’t expect the Elder to explore this much longer and cover more distance.

He thought at least two days were needed for this much exploration.

As time passed, they saw the green cover and an oasis as well. There were footprints near the oasis.

30 minutes later,

The footage came to an end. Everyone watched two days’ worth of footage in fast-forward.

"Jeremy Night, you did well. Even better than some elders," John praised again. It was because there were elders in the past who didn’t explore for more than one day.

They were afraid of coming across a Tier-8 beast. But Jeremy Night had spent three days at the border to get two days’ worth of footage.

Not only that, they were able to get a new map with new markings. Old man Dave next turned off the big screen. He then collected the footage onto his device.

Next, he sent both the footage and the new map to Elder John’s device. Old man Dave then walked out of the place.

He met Elder John and asked for feedback.

"Your work is great. You did well by getting the footage and the new map. Definitely, the device will be used by more people in the future," John said with a smile.

"I will also recommend it to the City Governors. In case they need to explore the unknown land, I will recommend your helmet device to them," John said to him.

Hearing that, Old man Dave was on cloud nine. If he got the support of important people, he could grow his own company.

Next, Old man Dave’s gaze fell on the young man.

He finally asked, "Elder John, who is the young man? I observed that you were talking to him enthusiastically earlier."

Hearing that, John let out a chuckle. He couldn’t wait to see the shocked expression on Old man Dave’s face.

"Senior Dave, meet the genius of our special base. His name is Jeremy Night. He was the one who did this mission," John said.

But the words fell like a thunderclap in the ears of Old man Dave.

"Him?"

"No way," Old man Dave uttered in surprise.

Jeremy Night was taken aback. He didn’t expect Elder John to make the introduction.

"I’m serious. We gave the mission as a test, and he completed it. He did better than our expectations," John said in a serious tone.

The look on his face showed he was not joking at all. Old man Dave saw his face. He then gulped his saliva.

He looked at the young man again. He once again confirmed his strength. His heart set off a storm. He thought that the special base was raising a monster genius.

"Young man, you are at the peak of Tier-3 strength. I don’t know how you did it, but it’s a record. You have also contributed to making my device get praise." After saying that, Old man Dave took out a card.

The card was golden in color.

"It’s the Beast Taming Association’s Golden Card. The cardholder can use the special practice chamber for free. I will give it to you now." After saying that, he gave him the card.

Jeremy Night was taken aback. He turned toward Elder John. Even Elder John didn’t expect it.

"Are you sure? There aren’t many golden cards issued by the Beast Taming Association here," John asked.

"Don’t worry. I have one more. I’m just saving it for a better person. I think I have found the right person. If the young man spends a couple of days here, it will definitely aid him in reaching Tier-4," Old man Dave said.
