On the way.

Chen Xiao was filled with curiosity about Old Niu’s sister, Hong Mei.

He wondered what a woman must have experienced to resort to putting on handcuffs at home to get a feel for prison life.

As the conversation deepened,

Old Niu, this simple guy who only did the dirty and hard jobs, unexpectedly revealed another big piece of information.

"Mr. Chen, let me tell you, in my whole life, the only person I fear is my sister. No matter who it is, even to herself, she is as ruthless as she can be. Before, Brother Guo’s company had some issues, and my sister nearly ended up in jail."

"That matter was huge; my sister locked herself at home and even put shackles on her ankles!"

Chen Xiao was stunned.

Suddenly, he wasn’t sure if Hong Mei was truly ruthless to herself, or if she had some kind of fetish.

Like, maybe cosplaying as a prisoner serving a heavy sentence?

Chen Xiao wasn’t clear, but he had already arrived at Qingtian’s building.

Upon learning of his arrival, Hong Mei personally came downstairs to greet him.

When he finally met this woman who piqued his curiosity, Chen Xiao was shocked at first glance.

Hong Mei was nothing like her burly brother.

On the contrary, she was petite and slim, appearing quite frail.

With a pair of glasses perched on her nose and a smile in her eyes, she extended her hand:

"Mr. Chen, hello, I’m Hong Mei, also Ah Kuan’s sister."

"President Hong, nice to meet you." Chen Xiao shook her hand.

"You can just call me Hong Mei or Ah Mei. President Guo already told me that your visit is as if he came; there’s no distinction."

"That makes things easier, Sister Mei... let’s go upstairs. Is there breakfast available at the company? I haven’t had anything to eat this morning."

Hong Mei was taken aback, then said, "Yes, yes, we have a cafeteria. I’ll get someone to prepare something right now."

"Great, just a bowl of noodles will do, and we can chat while eating. I hope you don’t find me impolite?" Chen Xiao asked with a smile.

Hong Mei nodded repeatedly and went upstairs with Chen Xiao.

Soon, the noodles were ready.

Chen Xiao sat at the conference table, quickly finished eating, and asked:

"Sister Mei, I won’t delve into the investment handover. I’m here today to discuss how to approach the officials next."

Hong Mei nodded: "I’m already aware of this. The investment you brought in before for Dongzhou is unprecedented. However, there is a detail that Brother Guo may not have mentioned to you."

Chen Xiao looked curious: "What detail?"

"Elder Guo has already contacted Qiu Huasheng, so you’re now a junior whose business was snatched by an elder. So, when you reach out to the officials, don’t tell them about the switch—express your anger and frustration instead!"

"Make everyone know that the opportunity you had was taken away by someone else. That someone is the elder you always trusted."

Chen Xiao immediately frowned and was about to call Guo Zhengchang on his phone.

Just as Chen Xiao was about to dial, Hong Mei said:

"Mr. Chen, Elder Guo probably won’t answer your call now. He said he didn’t tell you this last night because he feared you’d disagree. He also said some things must be done thoroughly!"

"He’ll take the blame, I’ll take the blame, but not you. Because everything you do is upright and honest."

Hong Mei relayed Guo Zhengchang’s instructions one by one.

Chen Xiao fell into deep thought.

He understood that doing this was in his best interest.

So when he transitions in the future, he won’t have to worry about any negative impact.

And by doing this, Guo Zhengchang would elevate him directly to a higher position in the future.

Because for Chen Xiao, whose business was snatched by Guo Zhengchang, to quickly make a comeback and suppress a business magnate like Guo Zhengchang in the same field is remarkable!

As Chen Xiao pondered the implications of Guo Zhengchang’s actions, Hong Mei spoke again:

"Mr. Chen, whether it’s you or Brother Guo, you are both people who accomplish great things in my eyes. Anyone who accomplishes great things should possess extraordinary determination!"

"So, can we skip over this matter and not discuss it further?"

Guo Zhengchang had done this much.

If Chen Xiao continued to dwell on it and obstruct it, Guo Zhengchang would inevitably be disappointed.

He would think Chen Xiao was being too indecisive.

Of course, Chen Xiao also sensed Guo Zhengchang’s expectations for him, as well as his strong faith in what Chen Xiao was going to do next.

"Alright, I’ll leave the matter of setting up the factory entirely to Sister Mei," Chen Xiao said with a smile.

Hong Mei nodded and also breathed a sigh of relief: "Okay, once you finish venting your anger with the officials, I’ll start negotiations immediately."

"Alright, it seems Elder Guo is used to me being hands-off in such matters, so he’s arranged everything for me seamlessly."

"Elder Guo mentioned that you should shine in other areas, as long as you have the intention to earn money," Hong Mei said, then got up and closed the office door.

Chen Xiao looked at her in surprise and asked, "Do you have something private to tell me?"

Hong Mei’s expression had changed completely from before.

She pulled up a chair and moved closer to Chen Xiao, then said:

"Mr. Chen, we’ve discussed the serious matters. Can we talk about personal things now?"

"Why not? I just wonder what personal matters you want to discuss?" Chen Xiao questioned with curiosity.

Hong Mei stopped beating around the bush and said directly:

"I assume on your way here, my brainless brother must have told you all about me, right?"

Chen Xiao cleared his throat immediately: "He did mention some things, but..."

"There’s no ’but.’ It’s good he did, so I don’t have to rack my brains trying to figure out how to start a conversation with you."

Hearing this, Chen Xiao seriously examined Hong Mei’s eyes and asked: "Is what you want to say difficult to talk about?"

"Yes, I think I’m sick, and it’s very dangerous."

"How so?"

"I want to go to jail!"

"Hmm?"

"I honestly want to go to jail and stay with those who have committed crimes. Then I’d have plenty of time to study them! I’m very curious to know what people are like after they’re caught and thrown in prison!"

Seeing Hong Mei speak earnestly, yet her words were nonsensical, Chen Xiao couldn’t help but think:

"Is this woman really ill?"

Before Chen Xiao could respond, Hong Mei spoke first:

"Mr. Chen, if you ever catch an extremely twisted serial killer, could you let me visit the crime scene?"

Chen Xiao narrowed his eyes: "Sister Mei, your idea is genuinely dangerous."

"I think so too. I’m even worried that my crisis awareness is so strong that it’s gradually leading me to become obsessed with that feeling. I think only mental cures can fix mental problems. Otherwise, what if I really commit a crime?!"
