Chapter 61: Chapter 61: How Will You Spend It?

"Fifty-nine million going once!"

"Sixty million going once! Sixty million going twice! Any other bids?!"

Listening to these astronomical auction prices, Hua Buwan felt entirely lightheaded. How was everyone here so incredibly rich?! She was completely broke—she didn’t even have six thousand in her pocket. Mingling among these big shots only made her feel all the more insignificant.

"Sixty million going for the third and final time! Sold!"

With a loud BANG, the auctioneer’s gavel struck, bringing the auction to a close.

Hua Buwan’s heart still hadn’t settled down. It was racing wildly, going THUMP THUMP THUMP against her ribs.

Grandma Wen was also full of smiles, her cheeks flushed red. She had gone on a spending spree today, blowing through all the pocket money her son had given her. But it didn’t matter; she hadn’t even touched her own personal funds yet.

"Buwan, let’s go," Grandma Wen said, looking at her affectionately, though her tone carried a hint of urgency. She wanted to hurry backstage to collect her newly won treasures so she could examine them up close. During the auction, they had been allowed to step up and take a quick look, but they couldn’t get too close or touch anything, which always left her feeling unfulfilled.

"Oh!" Hua Buwan responded mechanically, following dizzyingly after Grandma Wen toward the backstage area. Grandma Wen had purchased every single one of her lots, allowing the auction house to take their middleman’s cut. But Hua Buwan didn’t feel like she was losing out. If she had sold the items to Grandma Wen privately, she definitely wouldn’t have fetched such sky-high auction prices.

As they walked, several people approached Grandma Wen to chat. A few looked incredibly regretful, asking if she would be willing to part with her new treasures and offering to pay a premium for certain lots. Grandma Wen rejected them all. Eventually, the crowd dispersed.

When they reached the backstage area, Grandpa Mo was already standing there, seemingly waiting for them.

"Erya, please wait a moment. There’s someone inside right now," Grandpa Mo reminded them with a smile.

Hua Buwan figured that the buyers of the earlier lots were probably finalizing their transactions, so she obediently stood to the side and waited. She sneakily pulled out her phone and opened the calculator app, crunching the numbers to see exactly how much money she would walk away with.

While Grandpa Mo took the opportunity to chat with Grandma Wen, Hua Buwan finally got her total: 325.5 million!

Hua Buwan thought, "How many zeros is that again? Why is my mind completely blank? Why is my heart beating so fast..."

After quite a while, the people inside came out, and Grandpa Mo finally led them in. By then, Grandpa Mo and Grandma Wen had chatted about everything from antiques to history, from their childhoods to their personal life philosophies.

Hua Buwan had also eavesdropped on a fair share of gossip. As it turned out, Grandpa Mo, Grandpa Feng, and Grandma Wen had all met each other around the same time. However, Grandpa Mo had been too slow to make a move (though he personally believed Grandpa Feng had used underhanded tactics), leaving him fated to meet Grandma Wen but not to be with her. Because of this, Grandpa Mo still cursed out Grandpa Feng in the comment section of his Moments every single day. The two of them had been bickering like this for decades without pause.

Grandpa Feng was also deeply infatuated; he remained single to this very day. Even when Grandma Wen tried to persuade him to move on, he refused to change his heart. She was the one who got away—an elusive first love he couldn’t let go of, turning into a lifelong obsession.

With Grandpa Mo guiding them, they completed the paperwork in no time. Hua Buwan handed over her bank card, and Grandma Wen handed over hers. One account was debited, and the other was credited, with the auction house taking their commission in the middle.

Less than two minutes later, Hua Buwan’s phone let out a crisp DING. The bank notification displayed an incoming transfer of 325.5 million!

Hua Buwan still felt like she was in a dream. In the blink of an eye, she had become a multimillionaire.

Gripping her bank card tightly, a sudden question popped into her mind: *If you suddenly had 325.5 million, how would you spend it?*
