Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Wuyin Gong~

Grandpa Mo’s scowl returned. He glared at Hua Buwan as if she were a complete eyesore, puffing out his cheeks and practically blowing into his beard in anger.

Hua Buwan thought to herself, "I didn’t want to do it this way either! I just didn’t have any extra boxes to pack these things. Plus, this cloth bag of mine is small. If I put every single item in a separate box, it would take up way too much space." Besides, when Ling Qianjun gave these things to her, they had been piled together just like this anyway.

However, Hua Buwan hadn’t taken everything out. She had only picked out a few items she didn’t particularly like to auction off first, just to make some of her money back. She intended to hold onto the rest of her stash, keeping them available to sell later if the need arose. The most important factor was that if she brought out too many items all at once, they wouldn’t seem as rare.

Moreover, this particular auction wasn’t a grand event, so the final prices might not be as high as they would be at a larger-scale auction. It was better to save the truly valuable items until she had a chance to participate in a bigger venue. For this auction, it would suffice to offer smaller items like gold ingots, silver ingots, and a few pieces of jewelry.

After his bout of anger subsided, Grandpa Mo professionally donned a pair of gloves and put on his glasses. Then, he picked up the items one by one to appraise them. At first, he hadn’t held out much hope. But as he looked closer and more carefully, his eyes were practically glued to the antiques. Eventually, Hua Buwan could even hear Grandpa Mo’s breathing turn rapid, as if he had been holding his breath for too long and couldn’t get any air.

"Is it really that exaggerated?" Hua Buwan wondered inwardly. She didn’t dare break the atmosphere in the room. Even though she was thirsty, she didn’t even dare to pick up the glass of water in front of her to take a sip.

Finally, Grandpa Mo finished inspecting all the auction items she had brought out. He frowned first, then glanced at Hua Buwan, then at the items, and then sized Hua Buwan up once more.

After a while, he asked in disbelief, "These were passed down from your ancestors? They are all artifacts from Dongxuan Country? Have you ever asked if your family are descendants of Dongxuan Country? Do you have a genealogy book?"

Grandpa Mo had done some research on Dongxuan Country himself, but because so few relics had survived through the ages, his studies had hit a bottleneck. He thought to himself, "If only the ruins of Dongxuan Country could be found..."

Hua Buwan was oblivious to Grandpa Mo’s current thoughts. Had she known that this old man was already contemplating digging up her family’s ancestral graves, she absolutely would have cursed him out: Wuyin Gong!

"They were passed down in the family, but I don’t know if we’re descendants of Dongxuan Country. The genealogy book is long gone. Plus, it’s been so many generations, and we’ve moved several times," Hua Buwan said calmly, keeping a close eye on the old man’s expression.

Upon hearing this, half of Grandpa Mo’s excitement instantly deflated. He smiled bitterly and thought to himself, "Right, what was I even thinking? It’s been over a thousand years, how could anyone still know? Kids her age only know how to scroll through short videos online; they don’t know anything about this stuff."

Getting back to business, Grandpa Mo carefully placed the few auction items in front of him onto the red silk cloth. He said, "These can all be auctioned here with us. We charge a fifteen percent commission fee for our auctions. If you are amenable, we can discuss the pricing right now, and I can arrange for these items to be included in the auction later today."

Grandpa Mo’s face looked exceptionally professional, but internally, his heart was galloping like ten thousand wild horses! He could already foresee the massive sensation these items would cause when they appeared at the auction. Their circles would undoubtedly be swept up by a new wave of enthusiasm for Dongxuan Country archaeology!

Hua Buwan had no objections and nodded in agreement. Afterward, she discussed the base auction prices with Grandpa Mo. Whatever price the items eventually sold for above that, she would need to pay fifteen percent to the auction house. She had looked up these rules in advance.

Once everything was priced, the total base value amounted to three hundred million. Hua Buwan’s hands were trembling by the time she walked out of the room.
