Ling Qianjun took out a small trowel he had taken from the supermarket and began digging a hole by the mountainside. They were going to pour the water into it to create the illusion of a natural spring. He dug vigorously, beads of sweat forming on his forehead, but his gaze remained resolute. ℴ

Before long, he finished digging a medium-sized hole. They carefully poured the water into it. As the water pooled and slowly seeped into the soil, it looked exactly as if it were bubbling up from underground.

Afterward, they hid the trowel and took out a small wooden bucket that Ling Qianjun had previously requested from a government officer. He emptied the second bag of water into the bucket, filling it to the brim instantly. Ling Qianjun then shoved the empty plastic bags to Ling Qianfan for him to hide.

With everything ready, Ling Qianjun gave Ling Qianfan a look, and Ling Qianfan immediately understood.

Ling Qianfan’s voice echoed across the empty mountainside. "Come quickly! Qianjun struck water! Qianjun found a water source!"

Just then, a flurry of footsteps came from behind them. Ling Qianjun and Ling Qianfan watched quietly as a figure stumbled over. It was one of the exiled prisoners, who had dashed over the moment he heard the shout.

Water was their most precious resource. Finding a spring meant they finally had hope of survival.

Hearing that a water source had appeared in this arid land, the government officers couldn’t wait either. They jumped up and ran over, overwhelmed with excitement. "Is it true?" they asked as they ran, their faces brimming with excitement and anticipation, as if they had just seen the dawn of hope.

When they rushed to the source, they saw a stream of clear water welling up from underground, forming a small pool. The government officers cheered with joy, falling to their knees one after another to thank the Heavens for this blessing. They cupped the water in their hands, feeling its cool and nourishing touch, their hearts filled with joy and gratitude.
