Chapter 125: Chapter 125: No, No

Hua Buwan immediately and excitedly told Ling Qianjun about how the wild medicinal herbs they harvested together had sold for over a million. She wanted to share this joy with him. Hearing this, a gratified smile appeared on Ling Qianjun’s face. He felt incredibly proud of Hua Buwan.

"Buwan, you are truly amazing! Our hard work hasn’t gone to waste," Ling Qianjun praised.

Hua Buwan said excitedly, "Yes, this is the result of our joint efforts. We can do so many things with this money!"

Ling Qianjun nodded. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Buwan, since it’s still early, let’s make another trip into the woods." They had finished work early today because someone had suffered heatstroke, so the sun was still up.

Hearing this, Hua Buwan’s eyes sparkled. She agreed, "Okay, that’s a great idea!" The two smiled at each other, their hearts full of anticipation for their trek into the woods.

Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun carefully navigated through the forest, searching for precious wild medicinal herbs. Suddenly, a low growl broke the silence, and a massive wild boar appeared before them. A fierce glint flashed in the beast’s eyes. Its razor-sharp tusks were enough to send chills down anyone’s spine.

Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun did not back down. They quickly raised their tools, ready for a fierce fight. The boar charged at them. Ling Qianjun dodged to the side, evading its attack, and viciously smashed his wooden club against its back. Stung by the blow, the boar grew even more enraged and spun around to lunge at him again.

Seeing this, Hua Buwan quickly rushed in from the flank, slashing her sickle across the boar’s leg. This time, she didn’t shrink back. Even though she was terrified out of her wits, she bravely stepped forward to strike the beast.

With its leg injured, the boar’s movements slowed down. Qianjun seized the opportunity to launch another attack, forcing it back against a large tree. Under their seamless cooperation, the wild boar gradually lost ground. Finally, it collapsed to the dirt, motionless.

Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun breathed a sigh of relief. Ling Qianjun went to handle the carcass, while Hua Buwan collapsed weakly onto the ground. That brief confrontation had drained all of her physical strength and mental focus. Now that the adrenaline had worn off, she couldn’t muster another ounce of energy.

She couldn’t help but pant heavily. Her forehead was covered in sweat, and her back was completely drenched. She was someone who had grown up in an era of peace. In all her life, she had never even seen a live wild boar before, let alone engaged in face-to-face mortal combat with one. It was truly terrifying. She realized that wild medicinal herbs were expensive for a good reason; people were literally risking their lives to harvest them.

By this time, Ling Qianjun had finished inspecting the wild boar. Only after confirming it was completely dead did he walk over to Hua Buwan.

"Are you alright?" Ling Qianjun asked, looking at her with concern. He knew that she was genuinely frightened.

Hua Buwan shook her head. Looking up at him with a weak smile, she said, "I’m fine. I just need to rest for a bit."

Ling Qianjun fell silent for a moment before speaking up again. "Do you want to take this boar with you? If you do, I can help you carry it through the Any Door and deliver it to your grocery store."

Hua Buwan’s face paled, and she hastily shook her head. "No, no, you take it."

She knew she would have nightmares if she kept a dead boar in her supermarket. Besides, figuring out how to butcher and process the carcass would be a massive headache. It was a wild animal, and there was no way she could explain how an ordinary, frail woman like her had managed to hunt it down. Therefore, it was best to leave it to Ling Qianjun.
