Chapter 2213: Chapter 2213: Late Night Conversation in the Study

"This..."

Shard opened his mouth and said awkwardly:

"Alright, I misunderstood. I thought the Academy arranged it."

Miss Danester laughed:

"Seeing you like this, I thought you were always able to think ahead, arrange everything, calculate everyone, and put everything into your schedule in advance. But now it seems that you have oversights too."

She didn’t give Shard a chance to speak, reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear:

"So, do you need help from the Academy at Moon Bay? Finding a place for Miss Sianod to stay isn’t very difficult. We can make an excuse to temporarily transfer the person arranging this matter back to the Academy, which can also cover up her situation."

"No need."

Shard immediately shook his head:

"Since others don’t know now, let’s keep it that way. I’ll arrange it; I also have some friends over at Moon Bay. Rest assured, the unicorn situation won’t be exposed, and Emilia will be well-protected."

"Another female sorceress?"

Miss Danester asked, and just by looking at Shard’s expression, she knew the answer:

"Sometimes you really are rebellious. I know young people your age may be quite... open and persistent about love, but aren’t there a bit too many female sorceresses around you?"

Her beautiful wine-red eyes watched Shard. Shard knew Miss Danester meant well, but he couldn’t explain the situation:

"Don’t worry, it won’t affect my studies."

"You know that’s not what I meant."

She raised an eyebrow while picking up her teacup. Shard pressed his lips together, unsure how to respond. Fortunately, Miss Danester didn’t continue on this topic but instead said:

"The team from Saint Byrons heading to Moon Bay is set to depart next week. I’m sorry, it was originally agreed that I would lead, but I’m temporarily unable to go to Moon Bay. After the Green Lake incident, you told me that besides contacting Laplace Howard, my teacher had also interacted with the believers of the Old God, the Weaver of Harmony, before disappearing. I’ve finally gotten in touch with them, but I’ll likely need to visit in person."

She paused, looking at Shard’s expression:

"Departing next Wednesday, I don’t know how long this trip will take. It might take a day or two to get new information, but it might take weeks. During this time, I can’t directly intervene in the matters at Moon Bay, and you’ll have to handle the demon situation alone. I’m sorry, Shard, but I should be in Moon Bay during such times. But the whereabouts of my teacher..."

"No, no, you don’t need to apologize to me. Finding your teacher’s whereabouts is the most important."

Shard immediately shook his head, knowing Miss Danester truly cared for him as a student:

"Rest assured, I’ll handle the Moon Bay situation myself. Perhaps by the time you find a clue and return to the academy, things there will have already settled."

"Let’s take it slowly; I’ll join you at Moon Bay as soon as possible."

She sighed:

"Oh, by the way, since I won’t be there, our headmaster, Mr. Pigman, will lead the team. Given the involvement of a dragon, the Academy must send a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer to maintain control. The headmaster knows your skills, but I never mentioned your connection with the ’God Summoner.’"

She observed Shard’s expression again, but Shard... showed no expression.

"If needed, you can seek help from the headmaster. But whether to disclose your little secrets is something you’ll need to decide for yourself."

Miss Danester’s departure for a trip outside the Academy was planned for next week, so she advised Shard to think about any assistance he might need during this period. She would ensure to help with these before leaving.

But Shard actually needed nothing, at least for the moment. So before leaving, he merely wished Miss Danester a smooth trip. And after Shard’s projection disappeared from the chair opposite the tea table, the red-haired sorceress tucked back her hanging hair by her ear and leaned back on the sofa with a faint smile:

"This kind of man..."

Because of the Misfortune Demon - Fanarius’s trait, just knowing of its existence brings bad luck, Shard didn’t mention the demon to Dorothy on this Saturday evening, instead only brought up the Saint Byrons team heading to Moon Bay next week.

Shard sat behind the desk, and the golden-haired girl, not very ladylike, perched on the edge of the desk, looking down at Shard:

"I discussed with Lecia, Tifa will lead the group to Moon Bay next week, and I’ll go along with them. Once we reach Moon Bay, I can return home through that Dragon Nest you mentioned. This way, Lecia and I can assist you at the critical moment."

Dorothy and Lecia’s situation is quite unique. When one touches the Ancient God Statue to establish a new waypoint, the other can also gain access to that waypoint, so Lecia doesn’t need to go personally.

"That’s good, after all, you are the Chosen of Space. Perhaps you might finally need the power of Grace and Helen."

Shard did not object. Previously, he didn’t want them involved in the Chosen’s affairs, but now things are different.

"Also, Angelina is coming with me to Moon Bay."

Dorothy added, and Shard looked up at her in confusion:

"Angelina? What’s she going for? This time, there won’t be Miss Galina or a safe and solid base like the Green Lake Hotel. Even if it’s to broaden Angelina’s horizons, there’s no need to take her to such a dangerous place, right? I think the troubles in Tobesk are already quite a lot; she can still grow locally."

The golden-haired girl slightly bowed her head, her shadow covering Shard:

"It’s not my decision, but Galina and Lecia decided together. Galina thinks the times have changed, and Angelina must prepare in advance for more challenges to come. Time won’t wait for us, and we have to chase time. Since you and those ladies from the Witch Council are around, Angelina is considered safe, and it’s better than in the future, where she might face things alone."

Shard never mentioned to anyone that Iluna once said Angelina might be the Chosen of "Chaos," but evidently, Iluna’s core Spirit Rune caused concern for the "Balance" Grand Witch.

Dorothy continued:

"As for Lecia, although she hesitated for a while, she believes Galina is right."

Shard couldn’t understand their reasoning. He wanted to stop it, but the Duchess and Her Highness the Princess had already decided, and even Angelina herself did not oppose such arrangements.

Now "Fire Jumper" Larus III also knows that Angelina has become the Chosen, so he will no longer use her as a tool for political marriage. This time it’s Miss Galina arranging for her to stay away, and His Majesty the King certainly wouldn’t defy his aunt.

Therefore, Dorothy was purely informing Shard, not for him to make a decision. Shard always appreciated the decisiveness and assertiveness of the girls around him, but sometimes they have too many ideas.

"Shard, you can’t nurture a princess like Lecia in a greenhouse. Little Angelina was overly protected before. You see her, at Green Lake, because she was locked in a wardrobe, she experienced such intense emotional upheaval that she awakened prematurely. Her spirit is really fragile. She does need training now. Besides, Galina’s maid will take care of her, so you don’t need to worry too much."

Seeing Shard’s worried demeanor, Miss Writer comforted him. As Shard nodded, she smiled and leaned down, her hair sweeping over Shard’s profile, before she bent down to kiss Shard, who was looking up.

Lecia’s kiss was passionate like fire, Galina’s kiss was domineering yet sometimes tender, Luviya’s kiss was always considerate, Megan and Audrey’s kiss was unique, and the Red Butterfly Maiden’s kiss was somewhat cool, while Dorothy’s kiss was the most gentle.

That night’s lesson content was still the story of the "Mermaid Princess," but the location remained in the study; they didn’t go out again. Under the gas lamp, the girl sitting on Shard’s lap read him the story for a long time, and while hugging Shard’s neck, Miss Writer teased:

"This way of learning can also train your focus."

"Learning and training focus can actually be done separately... Speaking of which, next Monday is the Day of the Red Butterfly. Does Lecia have any special plans?"

Shard asked, and Dorothy smiled sweetly:

"You’re always able to remember dates. We’ll skip Monday; next Tuesday is His Majesty the King’s birthday, and the Royal Family will hold a banquet at Saint James Palace next to Yordle Palace. It will be very lively. Lecia said she found an even older handwritten collection, ’Summer Night Collection,’ and wants to invite you to read it with her at the banquet."

Shard did know next Tuesday was the King’s birthday, not because he particularly cared about it, but because, in today’s times, the King’s birthday is one of the few statutory holidays of the year, and the break is for one day.

"’Summer Night Collection,’ oh, that’s fine."

Shard said, but the golden-haired girl wasn’t satisfied:

"I haven’t finished yet. Lecia plans to perform opera with her sisters at the banquet. I will write the script and invite you to participate."

"But I don’t know how to perform, and it’s already Saturday. Why are you telling me now?"

"Because the performance content is adapted from ’Mermaid Princess.’"

She hugged Shard’s neck, and the light from the gas lamp on the desk cast her shadow over Shard. She slightly adjusted her position, allowing Shard’s left hand, which was warming inside her outfit, to be more comfortable:

"Lecia of course wants you to play the Prince, and she will play the Princess... Not the Mermaid Princess, but the Princess who marries the Prince. But considering you’re now Galina’s lover, she can’t be too blatant. So the Prince and Princess will be played by others, and you will play a kind Dragon. Lecia will play another Mermaid Princess who seeks help from the Dragon, hoping to save her sister who’s about to become bubbles."
